This accident happened two days before Christmas. Unfortunately, State Farm made the decision to total my car on an economic value decision, couldn't find parts to fix it. I've had a rental car since December 22 and while being in Colorado and having to take care of my granddaughter who has pneumonia I was informed that because they made me a lowball offer that they would no longer be taking care of my rental car!? now it comes out of my pocket. I've asked for an independent appraiser to review the decision, but how do you fight insurance companies without lawyering up! they give me a lowball offer on my vehicle they refused to work with me on keeping a rental car for a couple of weeks until I can find a vehicle to replace the one that was damaged due to one of their clients! At the very least, until this was settled, and we have a fair offer in place, I should've been given a rental car!? I am the victim, here they act as though I was the one that caused this accident! I know that I'm not the only one that feels this way about insurance providers. We pay premiums that are outrageous and then when something happens and an accident occurs we are told that if we make a claim we will be dropped, even when it isn't our fault. We are given limited assistance.
