We needed to renew our home insurance and was having issues due to our contractor not having all the permits that our insurance needed. We recently remodel or house the was over 100 yrs old so proper permits were needed into order for them to renew our insurance. Veronica assisted us in communicating with our contractor company of what was needed for the renewal. She continued to be in contact with them and us as well. Even though our contractor company was being stubborn about having the correct permits, when they didn't according to our insurance company and our city, Veronica was patient in dealing with them and was patient with us trying to get this resolved. I have left 3-4 messages with absolutely no response. My agency was McDowell & Keeney which was sold to Inzone. I am currently shopping my auto, renters and umbrella policies to new agencies. I welcome any recommendations. I reached out to Yates downtown and McClatchy with no response. Look elsewhere for insurance customer service and needed services to your existing policies with this agency. I was with Bewick Insurance for 28 years. The owners retired and sold their business to Inszone. I was assured I would receive the same level of service, but haven't. My first issue came about when I called to add a new car to my commercial policy. Of course nobody answered or called back after several phone calls. II ended up emailing the VIN so I could get coverage. Inszone didn't add the car and it turned out I didn't have coverage for over a month. More recently, Mercury Insurance switched me to paperless billing for my personal auto and homeowners policies without me knowing about the change. Needles to say the policies were cancelled because I didn't receive the renewals. Not a word from Inszone advising about the change in billing or that my policies were in jeopardy of being cancelled. I learned about this on a Friday and purchased policies online through Geico so I would have coverage through the weekend. I followed up with Inszone the following week and it took several weeks to get an auto quote. I more recently asked for a homeowners quote. It's been a week and a half and still no quote. Inszone was able to destroy a 28 year relationship in just a matter or months. They are fired. read more

Can you do zero stars, maybe even negative?!? I have been trying for 2 weeks to contact my agent, James, however there is no return of phone calls. I even had Progressive call with me and we got put on hold until Inszone disconnected us after 10+ minutes of waiting. Inszone caused my home insurance policy to lapse because they would not return calls from my mortgage company, nor did my agent update my account after we refinanced our home and had a new "Payor" listed...I just got off the phone and did that myself with Progressive since neither Progressive or I can get any help from this agent. Inszone has been awful for me and put me in a situation where my policy lapsed and I was uninsured since 11/15/25, even though I called them and left messages saying so and that it was urgent. I had to resolve all of this myself with my mortgage company and Progressive. HORRENDOUS SERVICE and ZERO CARE for their customers...it's almost criminal to me. I didn't even know my policy was cancelled so God forbid something happened to my home during those 11 days. Shameful! read more

I found excellent agents at Inzone. We've had home and auto policies with them for probably 20 years. The first agent I remember working with was Trinidad. She gave me her direct number in 2020 when offices were shut down. I was always able to reach her immediately, avoiding the voicemail tree. When she left, I felt like I was in limbo for a while, getting my account passed to different agents almost every time I called. Then I got Yesenia and she helped me through a few rough patches, communicating well with my insurance company on my behalf and getting back to me quickly. They both saved me money by finding lower rates when I asked near my renewal date, and even when it wasn't near my renewal date. read more

WARNING!!! Do not use Inszone Insurance. Rotunda spends all day on her phone playing on Facebook and social media instead of calling her clients back to make sure they're on track. This is the worse case of client neglect. She's lazy, condescending and simply has no concept of what customer service is. She told me my insurance was paid up to date and a week later I got a notice that my auto insurance was canceled. When I tried to call her, she doesn't answer the phone and absolutely never calls back. Her office is dark and when you go in person, she always says she's at lunch or leaving the office early because she has things to do. She works alone because no one can stand her. I should've read all the negative reviews before contacting this office. This woman is sick and shouldn't be in any type of customer service position. read more

The Owner of this company is a joke! He comments to call him so things can get worked out but he doesn't do anything about the problem. The problem is Rotunda. The 5 star reviews are from when GATEWAY INSURANCE owned this location. The 1 star reviews are from Inszone Incompetence. I just read all the negative reviews on Rotunda. To the owner, why are you allowing this woman to ruin all of our credit and insurance policies? You keep apologizing but you don't do anything about it? I'm reporting you to the Better Business Bureau and to the Insurance Licensing Board. You should be ashamed of yourself. If you have been harmed, like I have by Rotunda, contact me and let's get a class action lawsuit against her and her boss. Inszone Insurance and Rotunda are a nightmare. They don't answer the phone. They don't return phone calls. They're pure garbage. They tried to get me to switch from a great policy with Mercury to another insurance company that was 5 times more expensive. I just called another insurance company and my quote when back to less than $600 for a 6 month policy. Rotunda was trying to sell me an auto insurance policy that was more than $2,000 for 6 months. Rotunda is the worst agent I've ever encountered. Yesterday I walked into her office at 4:59 pm, they close at 6:00 pm and she said she had to leave to pick up her daughter but that she was writing a note to remind herself to call me first thing this morning. She never called me. This is typical of her. I called her and no answer and no call back. If you're with Inszone Insurance and Rotunda tries to sell you an expensive policy, don't sign anything. Go to other insurance companies for another quote. Don't settle for someone who is lazy and incompetent. We've here since it was Gateway Insurance and they were great!! The agents were so helpful in any situation. Now it's Inszone awful awful awful!!!! They are so damn condescending and unhelpful! I had a minor accident and it was like pulling teeth to get them help me navigate the insurance world. They wanted nothing to do with me, never called back and talked down to me. Absolutely infuriating. Rotunda and her manager are there to sell insurance but certainly NOT to help. Our insurance is inexpensive but, like they say, you get what you pay for. Please spend the extra money for good service. Navigating the ins and outs of insurance is so difficult and someone with experience will be a life saver! Unfortunately I have to update my previous review. I absolutely loved this company until it was sold. I only learned of the business selling when I needed to update information on my policies. The person who took over my account had a difficult time helping me with my updates. She was not knowledgeable about the various insurance options nor did she do things that I had asked for. What finally sealed the deal as to why I canceled all of my policies with this company was when I removed a vehicle from one of my policies and the premium went down by a small amount. I wrote the person handling my account asking if this seemed extremely high for a premium and I received no response. I've had this place for insurance for 7 years and have always had full coverage on every car. I bought a new car at the beginning of December and asked them to add the car with the same insurance i already have on my other car. 50/100 with a 250/500 deductible. Come to find out yesterday when they called to renew my policy they mentioned I only had liability insurance on a brand new 32,000$ car. Who in their right mind would put liability on a car like that? They even have in their notes that I asked for full coverage. This place really doesn't deserve anyone's business. Switched a couple of months ago and we are happy with the service we have received. Trinidad has been wonderful to work with, she is professional, knowledgeable, responsive and was very helpful to us when setting up our new policy. Not only did she add more coverage to our vehicles versus our old company, but we saved quite a bit by switching. I thought I was done with Gateway Insurance back in May after having horrendous service. (See earlier reviews) By now, you would think they would know who I am, and know I removed all policies from them back in May / June. I did find an insurance provider who actually cares, knows who my family and I are, and lets me know if changes should be made and why. Very satisfied now with new agents. Sadly, today I received a phone message and e mail from Bouachon Carey at Gateway with a cheery note telling me another one of my policies failed to renew......please call her to renew.... Well, when you MOVE ALL YOUR POLICIES, COMPLAIN TO ALL PROVIDERS with details of lack of service and competence of the Gateway Insurance company, and it got to the top of that company how unhappy we were - one would think Bouachan - the office manager would remember who I am. Look, Cathy Spencer and Clara Oakes who served us well are no longer at Gateway. They sold and retired 2 years ago. No notice of change was EVER sent to clients. The new people are automatons who respond like Pavlov's dog to bells and whistles. They do not know their clients. They have no idea what your needs are. They obviously received a notice that one of the many policies we had with them did not renew, and cheerily and happily contacted me again. I have no words about these people at this point. If you choose to use them, well - see the reviews below. They bought the company and they just go through motions. At some point, they will lose enough clients it will start to click and that guy in Rancho Cordova who answers all the YELP reviews will probably have to make some changes in the office. Insurance coverage that fits your needs is important. I have been in 2 car accidents, not my fault. I have rental properties. I have a million dollar umbrella policy for extra coverage in case of any accident that is my fault. Do not accept less than stellar knowledge and service from your agent. read more

I have had car insurance with gateway for more than ten years. I pay electronically on the day the bill is due, I have never been late with a payment. They call, email , and send cancellation notices in the mail weeks before the bill is due. I have called and email the company multiple times to stop all the calls and emails, but they continue to harass a loyal customer. I guess it's time to change insurance company. read more

My experience here began with the phone call I made to Gateway for a quote on my Home & Auto Insurance. The receptionist was very unprofessional and very short with me cutting me off while I was trying to talk and ask questions. As a consumer I want to address my issues/questions and then have them answered. Little did she know I was not on hold when she proceeded to bad mouth me to whom ever was in the office that day. I was transferred to a "customer service rep/agent" and was treated as if I should know and understand insurance. If I understood insurance I sure in the heck wouldn't need "you" to explain it to me! Correct? This CSR kept me on the phone for over an hour asking me more questions than I felt necessary. In the end she advised me that she would get back to me with a quote. It has been 3 weeks now and I have yet to hear back from her. I have called and asked to speak to Cathy (owner) on numerous occasions being told she is not in the office. Out of the approximately 6 times I have called Cathy was not in the office once. How do you complain about the service when you keep getting routed to the person you want to complain about. Seems as though the employees are "in cahoots" with each other. I was referred to Gateway by a family friend, since this incident she has decided to mover her business elsewhere and I sure wouldn't waste my time with this Agency.
