There's truly nothing better than a yoga class at Sky and taking in that gorgeous view of the lake, no matter the season. I came to Sky 3 years ago petrified that I'd make a total embarrassment of myself as I had never attempted yoga, but they were so helpful and welcoming that I instantly fell in love with yoga, and despite all of the studios around the country I've now frequented, Sky will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart. Their instructors are absolutely amazing; Courtney weaves her passion and love for the business into every thing she does, it's palpable. The community of classmates are always so friendly and warm; it's the closest thing I presently have to my own little community and I always look forward to connecting with them. There's always something new and fresh to look forward to in addition to the perfect weekly schedule which is created to have something for everyone of any skill level. Presently during COVID they have a really great system in place for streaming, special classes and more, though I'll always prefer the in-studio experience (which is open and very clean!) I can't wait until Covid passes and we can go back to the full classes full of love and light, I look forward to the little things they do to make every class special (essential oils, lighting, amazing music). As an instructor, she cracked jokes throughout the class, which I thought was a really great way to make less experienced participants feel less self conscious. That might not be everyone's style, but I thought it was a nice change up from more straightforward, serious tone you might find in other studios. Also, she did a great job of breaking down more complex moves into easy steps to help students nail the form. The flow itself was a great balance of restful & simple moves, and more challenging moves -- but always perfectly paced, and never too much at one time. Great for beginners, and a good mix between strenuous and restorative. Also, it was just plain fun. Overall, this was a great time and quality guidance, and I would definitely be open to taking more classes with Syracuse Yoga. Would recommend anyone who is considering them to take the chance and try them out!

After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.

I have done yoga at home with various DVDs for years. But I really wanted to find a class, and my…read morehusband tripped over this deal on Groupon. Am I glad he did! This class is tough. If you're not into being pushed and challenged then don't go. The Instructor is great at making sure you are in the correct positions while continuing to urge the other students to continue holding the pose. And boy, when they say hot, they mean HOT! We'll be 2 poses in and I'll already be sweating!! I didn't know you're knee caps could sweat! The first class I went to was tough. I was exhausted when I got home. But this second class was great. I did better in some of the poses and felt really confident when I left. Even if you have a image issue, do yourself a favor and invest in yoga shorts and light tank top. You'll thank me later. I don't know how people wear capris in there... its just too hot. The other students are all very friendly and super encouraging. The first class is tough, but it's worth it! I can't wait to go back on Wednesday!
