Impressively, they took the time listen to my desires and visualize for themselves what the plan might look like. They offered helpful suggestions; most that we ultimately went with. The lady I talked to on the phone was great in communicating the work planning and kept us all updated. Covid has made estimating a project clunky. We did a video estimate. The cost turned out to be quite fair, but I was concerned about the cost before starting. After watching all the work done, I was happy. An in person estimate is really superior, if the job is not really simple, so an explanation can be given for all the labor time it will take to execute the plan. Outlaw excavation and construction llc...."Jake Altman" (owner/operator) was hired in August 22022…read moreto excavate foundation hole, set the concrete forms, have concrete poured, and backfill dirt. We paid him a deposit of $8,000, balance to be paid upon completion of job. He did not finish the work, and the work he did perform was grossly incorrect (hole dug 13' too wide and forms were completely backwards). This was after him being provided with all needed information up front to do the job correctly. This did not come to our attention until after he had abandoned the job canceling the cement and not returning any of our calls, texts or emails, By this time it is end of September. We were under the gun with winter coming fast to get the job completed. We hired another company to come in to finish the job. This is when we were informed the job was completely done incorrectly and would have to be completely redone costing us an additional $20,000, plus we now had to provide $1,113.00 in insulating blankets for cement to cure properly because winter was here now. At the completion of the job at the end of October we tried again to contact Jake Altman to seek resolution to the situation, no communication on his end at all. We then moved forward and sued him in small claims for $5,000 ( max amount in small claims), which we were successful. Now the journey begins to collect!!! Looking back we should have not been so trusting and looked deeper into his background, because now doing so we have found that this situation is definitely not his first rodeo. We have taken this time to file this complaint not only to warn people of his lack of character, integrity, and his dishonesty, but also to warn people and encourage people to take the time to do your due diligence in seeking out your next contractor etc..
