We filed a complaint with the contractors board. After mediation Billy offered less than one-eighth of what we had paid him. He walked away and left us in a mess. His only response to use was "find another contractor" Nothing was salvageable and it cost us an additional 81% of our downpayment to fix his mistakes and poor quality of work. We hired Billy to build a pony wall and cabinets. We gave him a picture of what it should look like. He stated that he could meet our request. His quote was higher than two others but he had done flooring work for us and we liked it so we hired him. He took 50% of the bid as a deposit. He DID NOT build the pony wall but INSTEAD built a big boxy framework of 2x4s with melamine boxes for the shelves. Gaps were left between the faceplate and those boxes. He used cheap materials for building the doors. The doors do not fit properly. They were not at all like the picture we submitted and he said he could do. The paint job on the faceplate and doors is very amateurish. Choppy brush strokes are very visible. Some of the shelves were cut too small and fell down. When we asked him to come back to correct things he said it would be an extra travel charge per contract. when we pointed out the contract states a pony wall which he did not do, HE WALKED AWAY leaving a huge unfinished mess, gouged walls,no topper and DID NOT refund any money. Now we are left trying to find someone to fix his mess and we have to come up with more money to do it. We have three carpenters looking to fix it and each has said "whoever did this is giving all carpenters a bad name". We have waited two weeks from our last communication with Billy hoping he would "man-up" and fix his mistakes or pay us our money back. Billy from Integrity Jack of All Trades was incredible! I recently sold my hot tub and had a short window of time to detach the electrical from the hot tub and breaker box.
