Not even sure if EJ is still in business. While he has received lots of good ratings, the most recent is from 2022. Called, left a voice message in June 2023, and no reply after weeks. If he is in business, this is so unprofessional. Although, sadly, common practice in the Bend area. Contractors overall seem to consider customer courtesies like returning calls and showing up to be obsolete. If I ran my business this way, I would be without clients. I get that contractors are in high demand, but just a text or call back to say you are too busy to help would do a lot for your rep. read more

We called EJ to do a short list of basic home repairs - inside and out. He showed up on time and carefully went through our list. He removed old caulk and applied new in the kitchen and bathroom counters as well as along one area of the shower. He was very thorough, made sure we agreed with the color selection and cleaned up everything when he was finished. I just had EJ by to help with some things around our office. He replaced some light bulbs and helped to get the squeak out of some of the office chairs. I called EJ and asked if he would give me an estimate on replacing the missing baseboard molding in our house. He came to our home that same day and gave me a fair price estimate. I felt at ease and that I could trust EJ from the start. I lucked out because EJ had time on his schedule that would allow him to start on my project right away. Our project consisted of installing baseboard molding in 3 bedrooms (and the closets), two bathrooms and a laundry room. Our home has the rounded sheet rock corners that require some special corner pieces and EJ took that in stride. I totally forgot about the hole in the master bedroom closet wall (opened up when a pipe burst months ago). EJ fixed that too. He also replaced the casing around two doors and the transitions for 4 doorways (those strips that give a finished look to the intersection of carpet and flooring). I am so happy with the work EJ did for us and would give him my highest recommendation. EJ was tidy and professional. I will call EJ again when I have another project I need help with. We are new to Bend and bought a couple of items off Joss&Main (hall tree + sideboard cabinet), plus had a kayak pulley system to install. We had no tools and frankly, my husband prefers not to do this type of work whenever possible. From the positive reviews, I hired EJ. He was available the following week, stayed through the job (which the sideboard wasn't easy to assemble), cleaned up all the pieces (lots of boxes, styrofoam, etc) and walked us through everything at the end. Super personable, had all the tools needed (even an extra 2x4 for a more secure pulley system in our garage!), very knowledgeable and fair.
