The property they maintain consistently appears neglected, with large amounts of dirt, animal waste, dead vegetation, and ongoing irrigation issues. In many cases, crews simply mow over large piles of dirt and debris, creating even more dust and spreading waste throughout the area. Rather than improving the appearance of the property, their work often seems to move the problem from one place to another. A landscaping company should leave a property cleaner, healthier, and better maintained after each visit. Unfortunately, that has not been my observation. Based on the quality of work I've witnessed, I would not hire or recommend this company.

We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). He came up with a creative design for our backyard that provided more privacy; an entertainment space with a bar, tv, fire pit; and an outdoor kitchen. He asks questions to understand what your needs are and how you envision yourself using your yard to come up with a 3-D rendering of your ideal space. Sean has an eye for design and thinks of the big picture and the small details. We had to wait several months for the crew to start, but in my mind that was a good sign that Envirogreen was well sought after. They were worth the wait! Envirogreen has their own crews, instead of a bunch of subcontractors. Their crew, led by Abraham, was punctual, reliable, and hardworking. They showed up 5-6 days a week and worked long days until our project was complete. This kind of work ethic and reliability is so rare these days. It was a big job. JCD came out for an eatimate and bid me about the same as the other companies who took a look, but seemed to be more interested in doing the work than the others. Jonathan came out when agreed upon, and it quickly became clear that he had not realized how long the job would take. He came out by himself the first day and knocked out about 1/4 of the work. Then he asked if I could pay him half the fee, "to bring something home to my wife." I agreed to pay 1/3 the full fee for the day. The next day, he came back with two men he said were cousins. Jonathan seemed ill at ease managng helpers, and complained to me several times that they weren't really helping and were like unruly children. Hmm. They worked most of the day and did finish the job. However, they seemed in a hurry to leave without completely clearing up the mess. Jonathan told me he could come back and rake another day, but I demurred. I threw a $50 tip on my payment, as well, since it seemed Jonathan had had to hire help he hadn't planned on. To my dismay, once they had gone, I discovered my pool was absolutely *chock full* of trimmings--both small chunks and enormous branches. Why on earth would any lanscaper carelessly allow all that mess to fall into a client's pool and then leave it there? I spent several days removing what amounted to nine contractor bags full of material from the pool, and then several more days skimming leaves from those branches, scrubbing the walls, and rebalancing chemicals. There were also 4-10" lengths of shrub scattered all over the yard--my bad, since Jonathan offered to rake and I declined. But when all was said and done, I found myself wondering why that hadn't been an automatic part of cleaning up the job before leaving. The owner was a very pleasant guy, and I waited quite a while to leave a review, thinking that over time I would be less frustrated by the outcome. Did they do the job? They did, butI would not have called it professional. Will I hire them back? Absolutely not.
