I am writing this review after a few years - because for me, after-sales service is super important and Mike and his team has come through in flying colors. Mike did our entire backyard, including stone, pavers, gravel and artificial turf and replaced our old irrigation system. He and his team did a great job that stands great even today, several years after completion. But most importantly, he never left us alone when we needed support - be it a leaked pipe or having to replace the pavers since the color seemed slightly off. The most recent job he did was just a few weeks back when we had a leak from one of the irrigation head. When I informed him, Mike had his team come over and fix it even before we realized it and I had to follow up with him several times to pay him. :D That's the kind of service he does. read more

Our hardscape patio started sinking after just 4 years (our concrete column was even leaning). Diamond Stone of course took no responsibility and stood by their workmanship. We opted to replace the whole thing and I'm SO glad we did. During the demo, the new landscaper found 4 major issues with the original install. 1) The paver surface was found to have inconsistent and uneven levels. 2) The joints between the pavers contained only polymeric sand. 3) Along the perimeter edges, the concrete bonding/support was inconsistent and spotty with minimal connection in several sections. Some sections contained NO concrete border or edge restraint base at all. 4) There was NO BASE MATERIAL found beneath the pavers, but the material consisted primarily of native soil. Diamond Stone has cost us a lot of money because they were so careless. We found them lacking integrity because they refused any responsibility, even had the nerve to tell us drainage and sinkage to a corner was 'normal'. Had we opted to only repair the landscape, it would have failed time and time again because IT WAS WRONG FROM THE ONSET. It easy to judge a company when everything goes well, but the true test is when there are problems. I hired Diamond Stone to redo my front landscaping. The salesman, Jr, was great. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and cool under pressure. Jr told me from the first meeting that the thing that distinguished Diamond Stone from other landscaping companies was that they would keep coming back until we were satisfied. I found out that this was in fact true. We had some bumps and hiccoughs along the way, some on my side and some on theirs. When the project was completed, the seam in the turf was more visible than it should have been. They sent a crew to stretch it, but it still wasn't perfect. Jr suggested waiting a couple of months for the weather to warm up and they'd try it again, and if it didn't work, they would replace the turf. I told him I'd wait to write a review until the turf issue was resolved. Last week they came back out and re-stretched and cleaned the turf. I'm happy to report, it looks fantastic! So, as promised I'm writing my review. If everything went perfectly, I would have given a 5-stars. Instead, I'm giving a solid 4-stars and I will definitely use them again for any future projects. read more

I had an ugly, 1970s crumbling cool deck, and Bilal came out and made his suggestions about what would work best for the situation. We went with travertine, and had to demo the concrete because it was old and leaky. I was concerned about our pool being made of fiberglass with the concrete demo right beside it, but it was fine. The bulk of the work was done in 3 days. Outside circumstances caused some unexpected issues but Bilal handled them well and resolved everything. I trusted him with quality control. We have done a lot of renovations in our backyard. One project was to expand our travertine patio by about 600 sq ft. We called around after researching companies on Yelp, of course! Some places didn't want to gas up and come out to give quotes. I get it, gas is expensive. But, for a major job like this, it takes money (and time) to make money. We had DSSG quote several projects and this time we were impressed with how Daniel presented the job and company. We chose them and we are extremely pleased. The crew they sent out were professional and they were like artists. They sloped the patio in a way it had 3 slopes to guide rainwater away from house and pool.
