I would recommend her, hands down, to my friends and family. Now, with that being said.... The front office staff, for lack of a better word, is AWFUL!!!!!!!!! These women are extremely rude. I waited to see Cheryl, for an hour! Then, after my my exam, I waited at their "window" to pay for 30 minutes. Checking out should never take this long (I would know, I worked at a doctors office for years). The two staff members helped people behind me, while I stood there... Waiting. I waited there, to pay and to also receive my prescriptions... After being so patient, I ask them about the prescriptions, and they replied "they will be called in"??? I explained to them, calmly, that I had not told them which pharmacy I preferred. They looked straight at me, and helped the NEXT person behind me. Frustrated, tired (from being there 2.5 hours) and needing to pick my children up from school, I walked out. I had my husband call and talk to them, because I was too upset to speak with them. After the staff argued with him for 10 minutes, he was able to tell them which pharmacy. Days go by... And nothing is called in. We call walgreens and they have nothing, we call the doctors office and they claim they called it in??? Well, this goes on for a week. Finally, husband calls, again, and speaks with a nurse. She was very nice and apologetic and explained she, herself, was frustrated with their office staff because she never received any messages from us to call in the prescriptions. Now, they were suppose to be ready Friday for pick up. Here it is, Tuesday, and they tell us it will be ready at 4:30. Situation is getting ridiculous. Again, Cheryl Vallie is wonderful but she honestly needs a new staff. I, myself, am very close to looking for a new doctor.

I've been waiting 4 days for return phone call regarding blood pressure meds which I'm out of. And, be prepared to wait and wait during the office visit.

If I could give this clinic zero stars, I absolutely would. I have to ask: where is the Hippocratic…read moreOath when it comes to patient care at this clinic? My husband was involved in a car accident and went to the ER, where a CT scan was performed. Thankfully, there were no fractures, but he was diagnosed with a chest contusion. He was advised to follow up with a general orthopedic specialist. Almost two months later, he was still experiencing discomfort, and his primary care physician also recommended that he see an orthopedic specialist. We were given a referral to West Texas Orthopedic, only to receive a call from the clinic telling us that they do not treat ribs or anything involving the chest/thoracic area -- and apparently this was the case even though he has Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. I find this extremely difficult to understand. How can an orthopedic clinic refuse to evaluate a musculoskeletal injury involving the chest? What about the intercostal muscles, ligaments, or other soft tissues that could potentially be involved? We weren't asking them to treat a heart condition. We were asking for an orthopedic evaluation following a traumatic injury. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we were told he could see a cardiologist instead. A cardiologist? My husband was referred to an orthopedic specialist because he continues to have pain and discomfort following a car accident. He does not have a heart condition or high blood pressure!! This is exactly why patients rely on medical professionals to guide them to the appropriate specialist. Someone without medical knowledge could easily be confused or sent in the wrong direction by advice like this. Aclinic specializing in orthopedics should at least be able to clearly explain where a patient with this type of injury should go for appropriate evaluation and follow-up. This experience was incredibly disappointing. I would not recommend this clinic based on what we experienced. If you live in Midland and need orthopedic care for an injury involving the chest or ribs, you may need to look outside the area to find someone willing to evaluate you. Very disappointing experience.
