The medical staff at this location are knowledgeable, have a great bedside manner, and really listen to the patient's needs and concerns.

They sent my medication to Walgreens in Bryan when I asked it to be sent to the CVS on Texas in College Station.

Great care and courtesy. Took about an hour to test me for flu, strep, and mono, and asked all the right questions.

Care Plus..... oh how low medical care has stooped…read more..... I've visited Care Plus twice, and I have to say that the last time will be the last time. I think I would rather self-treat for whatever unfortunately illness or accident I manage to find myself in. I only went here when my primary physician was unavailable. He moved about 2 years ago, and I haven't been able to find a decent general practitioner since. The first time I was at Care Plus, it was for an unfortunate lawn mowing accident that left scissors through my hand. The wait time (15 minutes) for this was okay given my injury, and the treatment was decent. I had a female doctor I had was relatively knowledgeable, and personable. I can't remember her name for the life of me. They washed out my wound, patched me up, and I was on my way. My complaint with about Care Plus at the time was that they would not file with my secondary insurance. Not a huge ordeal, but filing with the any insurance can be a pain in the butt. Gotta download the form, print the form, look up random numbers, make sure you have diagnosis codes, and so on. It would have been easier if the staff could do that for me. I like filing forms with insurance like I like filing out tax forms. The second time I came here was in the Summer of 2008, I had an urgent case. I had to wait 3 hours. I was so fed up, I decided to just lay in the middle of the hall of the physician's center. Apparently, that doesn't do much good either. Medical services here are the pits. I finally got in 3 hours later, and Dr. Roquet started treating me like a child. I may not have an MD, but I've worked in the medical field long enough to know what was up. He kept trying to diagnosis my symptom, incorrectly at that, instead of finding the root cause. He started to say that I had a condition that I obviously didn't have. You can't wake up one day with a chronic illness. Several times, I felt like saying "@&#(%@! Let me help you with your job. Apparently, you aren't very good at it." Twice during the visit, his cell phone went off, and he had the audacity to leave the room and answer it. He would come back 10 minutes later and say something like, "It's part of the job." I wanted to snap back, "You are at your job!" Did he really think I was that gullible that he had to answer his cell about work, when he was clearly at work? It was very apparent that it was a personal call from his wife. To make a long story short, I felt like I was being talked down to the entire visit. The wait was entirely too long. The physician was incapable of higher thinking skills. The doctor had no social skills, and he rudely accepted personal calls when I was on my death bed. I hate this place. This place sucks. The facility is cramped. The equipment is old and dated. I would only go back if this was the last medical center in Texas. Wait, I take that back. I would rather pop a few pain killers and patch myself up. I could probably do a better job of open heart surgery than this place.

I have used care plus for over 20+ years as both an urgent care facility and as a family medicine…read morecenter. The wait is a little long but you do get to walk in with out an appointment and when you factor in that most docs make you wait anyhow, it evens out. Dr Roquet is very kind and listens to each patient. He has stitched us up and taken care of each member of my family. I would rather wait for him than deal with the ers in town. As someone with chronic health issues, I appreciate he sees each person's problem as an individual. He also is one of the few docs who still believe in pain management. Curious as someone who is "dying" is going to an urgent care facility. That is why they have ers. I think an office visit runs 90 bucks which is about half the price of other drs office visits.

Soooo....Scott & White. I went to S&W a number of times while here for undergrad several years ago…read moreand wasn't terribly impressed, and things are about the same as they've always been. Demi-professionalism everywhere, frequently resorting to treating the symptoms of things instead of searching out and healing the root cause, and just a general sense of lackluster service and care. However, I did find a GP here I think I like. Dr. Anne Marie Eschberger was professional, efficient, smart, and just engaged enough to keep up a conversation and answer all my questions with patience, and just clinical enough so when it came time to do some otherwise embarrassing exams, I didn't feel awkward. Perfect. She earns 4-5 stars from me, honestly, but as usual, my overall experience at S&W ranged from "meh" to quietly laughing to myself as I witnessed some barely professional behavior from nurses and general staff. St. Joseph's staff tends to be a lot warmer and more efficient, so I usually prefer to go there, but I think I'll keep coming to Dr. Eschberger as my GP.

One star for a billing process that turns "fully covered preventive care" into a gotcha…read more I scheduled what I understood-along with my employer's HR representative-to be a fully covered annual wellness/physical exam. The pre-appointment paperwork specifically asked whether I wanted to discuss another medical issue instead of having the preventive exam. I checked no. During the exam, the physician did what physicians normally do: asked whether I had any pain or other concerns, reviewed my medications, extended some refills, and addressed a couple of issues I mentioned in response to those questions. Nothing about the visit suggested, "By answering these questions, you are now agreeing to purchase a second office visit." Then I received a $20 bill. Apparently the clinic billed both the preventive exam and a separate problem-oriented office visit. I understand the technical explanation: medication management and discussion of medical concerns can support additional billing. What I do not accept is the idea that patients are given meaningful notice that ordinary conversation during a "fully covered" physical can quietly trigger another charge. When I questioned it, I was told there are no courtesy adjustments and initially that there was "nothing we can do," although the charge has now been submitted for a coding review that will take another seven to ten days. I paid the $20. At this point, the clinic will almost certainly spend more than $20 in staff time reviewing and defending the charge. The physician care itself is not the reason for this rating. The billing and disclosure process is. If a preventive exam stops being fully covered the moment a patient answers the doctor's own questions, tell the patient clearly before providing the separately billable service. Hiding that distinction in billing rules after the fact may be technically permissible, but it is a terrible patient experience. One star. Not because of twenty dollars, but because patients should not need a course in medical coding to understand what "fully covered" means.

I got two separate calls, the first telling me I tested positive for yeast. In my second call the woman on the phone told me I tested positive for an STI. I was quite shocked and asked again to confirm with her and she stated "yes you were positive for yeast and the STI, the antibiotics for both were sent in." For the rest of the day I was inconsolable because I thought my boyfriend had cheated on me, and in general it was just a difficult thing to accept. The following day I picked up my medicine that they said they sent in, but there was only an antibiotic for yeast. I was confused so I called in and asked why they didn't send in the other antibiotics and I was told then that there was only an order for the yeast medicine. She proceeded to go quiet and then tell me that my doctor would call me back shortly. I then received an email to log into my patient portal and there is a section for test results. On my portal it stated that I was NEGATIVE for the STI. I called back and explained this and she once again just went quiet and told me that my doctor would call me. I finally receive a call from her, and all I got was a "sorry for the miscommunication". Not only did they tell me the incorrect test results, in which my relationship with my boyfriend was practically ruined by as well as caused great emotional stress, they never once tried to contact me to tell me they were incorrect. I had to contact them two separate times and try to figure it out myself because they would not. I find it incredibly unprofessional and sloppy that they either gave me someone else's test results, or somehow, read the paper wrong. But I find that hard to believe as a NEGATIVE is a pretty easy word to comprehend. Even today I have tried to call and file a complaint and I was told my message would be given to the manager and I would receive a call. Four hours go by, and low and behold no one has called me. So I have to call again and I am asked if I gave my phone number. The woman prior "sending my message" never asked me for my number, and honestly I doubt my message was even attempted to be passed on. I am now currently waiting for another supposed call.
