I had used DBA Store in the past and had a good experience. But the last time I used it was horrible. I submitted a filing and heard nothing for months! I emailed multiple times and got no response. I called and was told the person in charge would call me back but she never did. Finally after months of this I called and asked to speak to the supervisor. Finally they filed my form. Only $35 if you file online at www.dbastore.com However you cannot file your Statement of Abandonment online. So head to their office that's open until 5pm. The office isn't very cozy, but you're not there to loiter. They help you fast and you're out in 5-10 minutes. Plus they will report the filling to the County Clerk-Recorder. They are friendly, and it's easy to reach them via phone. After filing a DBA fictitious business name, you need to: 1) the statement must be published in an Alameda County newspaper of general circulation in the area where the business is to be conducted within 30 days of filing with County. Went through the online application and found $65 only for publication (filed by myself). $65 is already more expensive than the other companies, so I called Contra Costa News Register and did for $50. If it's online service, DBAstore should offer less than $40 read more

I have to say this process was fast and efficient! I parked on the side of Oak st near faith alliance church and was able to find a really close parking spot! I called once I arrived because I used the exact address but it was actually two doors over! So first you'll notice a sandwich shop/cafe in the corner and then there's some apartments with 1109 above them...the actual office is the third door down! When I called the writer/clerk/receptionist gave me this information. She seemed really pleasant. Once I found the place I paid about $1.00 to park that gave me about 30 minutes to be in the office. I was actually only in the office for about 5 minutes! I paid $40 in cash to have my business listed and once she entered all the information I was good to go. She handed me my receipt and I walked back to my car with 23 minutes left on the meter! I'm ecstatic that the process was fast efficient and the lady who helped me told me I would see my business listed next Friday! No complaints read more

The cost to publish a notification of name change is $110 for four weeks, which is required by the California courts. However, nowhere on their website does Inter-City Express mention this; you have to fill out their entire set of forms before you are allowed to find out the price. This is INCREDIBLY annoying. read more
