It took 3 months to get a small patch made and it was misspelled and not the same detail has the other patch. So we will be returning it and getting the correct stitching size and color. Super disappointed with how these shirts turned out. We read the good reviews and wanted to get two embroidered shirts for our daughter. We were told they would be ready in about a week. We called about a week later and told they still weren't done and they tried to push it off to the following week. I don't know maybe they rushed them but when looking closely at them both has the embroidery done over a seem which looks tacky and makes the letters look like patchy. Also the white shirt has crooked, a bit diagonal lettering. We're not sure now what to do with the shirts. We should have trusted our instincts and picked up the shirts when they said they hadn't got to them and taken them somewhere else. Definitely won't be coming back here! read more

Horrible business went down hill with the new owner Brian. He is a poor excuse for a professional business man. The old owners always were on point. I placed a custom order weeks in advance and communicated what the date of the event was. I never heard from him so I called him to get a status update he said no work has been done his machine has been down eight days!!!! This was two days before my event!! You know honestly, I wasn't going to write a review. In fact, a positive 5 star review is long overdue in the past but unfortunately what transpired recently completely changed my outlook enough to create a Yelp account. I been coming to this place for years but very sporadic since I'm commuting from San Francisco via BART, Lyft, Uber, etc. I started off with bringing just baseball jerseys for them to have embroidered: letters, numbers, patches that I supply. I would even bring an extra jersey, print outs, written instructions; basically anything that would make it easy and helpful. Once I was done with my jersey projects, I moved on to letterman jackets; same exact job as the jerseys. I never once pressure them to have it done at a certain time, I never once question their prices and never have I asked for a discount for being a loyal customer. And of course, I would ask them first if the job I'm requesting is even possible since I didn't want to be an inconvenience for them. Anyways, I dropped off two letterman jackets on February 26. I was giving a quote and an estimated target date of completion on March 15. Again, I had no problem with the wait time and prices since I trusted their work. However, they did promised me that if the job was done before, I would get a call. I was fine with that since again I'm commuting from San Francisco and because I work mostly in the afternoon, I always had to plan and time everything perfectly or switch my shift around. I decided to call them on March 12, just to simply see how the progress was going. They told me they were still working on them but the estimated targeted date was still realistic. Again, no problem; that was perfectly fine with me. I called them back on March 16 to see if the jackets were ready. They told me "almost done, they forgot 1 last thing". I told them that's perfectly fine, I'm in no rush. I called back again on March 18 to see if it was ready so I may start heading over there and they told me, "Yes." As soon as I was trying to thank them and let them know I'll be over there shortly, they hanged up on me. That was rude but I figured okay maybe they're busy. Once I get there, they greeted me and went back to their "office" to retrieve the jackets. I take out 1 jersey out from my backpack and place it on the counter to simply ask them if they had a specific color thread for stitching. As soon as she saw the jersey, with a terrified look told me, "No...this is the last time we're doing this kind of work for you." I was confuse and ask her if everything was okay? She continued, "No....this is too much work, too much time, when we should be charging you $1000 for this but we don't." She also told me that she didn't appreciate me calling "too many times since it gave her headaches." I was dumbfounded and explain that I only called to see how the progress was going since they never did call me as promised. I just couldn't believe the hostility and because I was in a serious time crunch to order my Lyft ride back to Hayward BART to head back to the city, I didn't want to argue so I paid for the work and left. After so many years of being loyal, never pressuring them, never rushing them, never questioning their prices, never disrespecting them, they decide their best course of action is taking my business elsewhere because the work I was providing was apparently "too much" for them to handle even though they're the ones who agreed to proceed to do the work and love my money during a pandemic. I don't know if they assume I was profiting off their hard work as every jersey and jacket was for my pleasure based on my artistic vision. And every jersey and jacket I want to passed down to my son when he gets older. And in the end, despite the fact that I gave them instructions and reference photos, they didn't do a "perfect job" as one of the patches was placed wrong along with one of the letters from the other jacket is upside down. Although I have only made two sets of Greek letters at Acme so far, I can definitely say that Acme is trusted! Both myself and my fraternity have been going to Acme for years and we are all constantly recommending others to get their embroidery done here. Both of the owners respond as quickly as possible to emails, phone calls and in person to any questions that you may have or any small adjustments/changes that need to be made last minute. They're both patient and super understanding when you're deciding what you want to get done. Their turnaround time is pretty fast too and they're really good about getting your custom embroidery done by the day you need them (as long as you give them enough time in advance). The stitching/embroidery always comes out clean and the overall quality of their work is great. You can definitely tell that they take their time and that they care about the quality of their work when it comes to making your custom apparel as soon as you come in to pick them up. There's also a lot of options to choose from! Different fonts, colors, apparel, etc. And if you're unsure about which one, they're always willing to give you their opinion on what they think would be best for what you want/what you are looking for. I've read these reviews and I have a really hard time believing that this is the same Acme Awards that I visit. Sue speaks wonderful English...I mean I have NEVER had any trouble understanding her and vice versa. It is obvious that she is college educated as well as extremely experienced. I have a little home-based custom apparel business and, whenever my little embroidery machine can't do the job, Sue comes thru. The price is very reasonable and the service is TOP NOTCH. Just in case anyone starts thinking that businesses get preferential treatment, I would like to point out that the first time I needed to have something embroidered, it was a single baby blanket and I didn't identify myself as a business owner. I went in as an individual customer with a small job. I received the same excelled service that I always receive. In my experience, the customer service here is second to none. The quality of work is amazing and the price is incredible reasonable. It is sad that only a couple of unhappy customers have stopped by here to rate them. I'm sure if even 10 more customers rated them, the rating would be a lot higher. read more

Acme is a tiny but trusted store. The majority of individuals in Greek organizations who attend CSUEB get their embroidery done here. They offer a variety of colors, fonts, styles, etc. You can either bring in your own fabric or article of clothing, or order directly from them (which is usually the cheaper option). It is owned by a very kind and helpful Korean couple. The person that most people speak to is Sue. If you're like me and tend to be a little indecisive or need words of affirmation, don't be afraid to ask for her opinion! She is very patient and has no problem showing you examples. To be honest, this place is a little pricey. However, keep in mind that you get what you pay for! They don't use cheap fabric, the stitching always comes out clean, and if you need your order ready by a certain day, they are good at reaching that deadline (assuming you give them a reasonable amount of time). I have gotten embroidery done for sweaters, jackets, hats, sweats, and graduation stoles and have been pleased with the outcome each time. Really really loved this place. I needed a baby blanket embroidered at the last minute, showed up at 4:20 (they close at 5) and the lady who's name I didn't get, did it for me in 20 minutes for $15. Acme is pretty much the place where my fraternity gets all of it's Greek lettering and embroidery done. Been coming here for almost 3 years now to get all my sweaters done. I sort of want to use this review to clear up some of the things said between Jennifer and the owners of the company, and also provide my own experience with the company First off, this place is a little hard to find. It may be off of both Mission and Harder Road, but other than this store, and I think a car repair shop, there's nothing around it. It's pretty easy to drive past since there's no really big sign or anything like that except for on the window of the store. I personally didn't get lost trying to find the place, but a few of my friends have. Secondly, I've never had a bad experience with Sue, the lady that you'll probably be giving your order to. She's really nice and friendly, and she speaks english pretty well. Sure, it's easy to tell it's not her first language, but there's not a huge language barrier there or anything like that. She understands everything you say and I can understand about 99% of the things she says. Also, this place is a little expensive compared to places such as some of the online greek clothing stores. I don't really mind the extra pricing though, because this set of letters/embroidery will be the nicest you'll ever get. I've compared my sets of letters to other peoples letters from all over California, and I can honestly say that mines has the cleanest and neatest stitching, and the best shaped letters out there. Very high quality lettering from this company, and I really do not mind paying a little bit more for that quality. You can also basically request to put anything lettering you want anywhere. The order sheet basically has a t-shirt template on it, and you can write yourself what you want on the sweater/shirt. Just make sure to specify both the colors that you want and the font of the lettering. The price of your order will vary depending on what you want on it. My sets of letters have ranged from 30 dollars for just the Greek letters on a pre-bought jacket, to around 100 dollars for a sweater, greek letters, and embroidery above and below the greek letters, on the hood, and on each sleeve. Pricey, yes, but it's worth it. They also do accept card, and you don't have to pay everything up front either. You can pay some at the beginning and then pay the rest when you pick it up. A few mistakes have occurred on some of the sets of letters me and my friends have ordered, but they are usually very small and easily corrected. Also, they will usually take a portion of the price off if they mess up on your letters. I think their rate of messing up is a little higher than 2-3% but not by much, and it's definitely not high enough for me to stop using their services. This is basically the only place in the area that does Greek lettering, and it does so with very high quality. Be prepared to pay a bit more, but you get what you pay for. This place was kind of hard to find because my GPS was not up to date. It's kind of in the cuts. I came here with a friend because we wanted to give our bigs/lils a small gift and since my friend recommended this place to me (because of the cheap price), I definitely wanted to try it out. When you get there, there is a small private parking lot there in front of the store which was awesome because I hate parking far away. This shop is really small and is ran by an asian lady or something. She was nice and all. Smiling and awesome service. However, it was somewhat hard to communicate with her because she had an accent and she wouldn't understand me when I would say something. Other than that, we were able to communicate enough to get one hoodie and a t-shirt. There was a small variety of colors compared to other embroidery places. Why did I give it 3 stars you may ask? Like I said, my friend recommended me this place because of the low prices. When the lady came up with the total, it was extremely expensive. I got a 3 greek letters on my right side and 3 alphabet letters on my left side and since my hoodie was a zip up and I wanted my fraternity letters horizontally across, she charged me for 4 letters instead of 3 because of the zipper. My total came out to be around 120 or so. I don't remember but my friend got a small green t-shirt from forever 21 embroidered and it costs her around $80 for the 3 letters in the front and _______'s Big Sis on the back bottom. So sad. I thought we would have gotten a better deal. Oh wells. We had to get it done because our event was soon and me and her were lagging for the longest time. Plus, we drove all the way over there from San Francisco. Might as well. Finally, we got the order in a couple of days. We rushed the order but when I went to go pick it up, I realized that they messed up on my friend's t-shirt. They spelled the name wrong on the back of it even when my friend specifically wrote in big, neat letters for the lady to embroider. Mine came out perfectly but I felt bad because I dragged my friend along to get this done. So she called the lady to complain. The lady decided to give her a new t-shirt with the correct spelling and mail it to her but my friend wasn't satisfied with it because it was a different fit and the shade of green did not match the one she had. If you guys do come here to get you stuff done, know that it will be a hit or miss because your chances of an incorrect embroidering is 50/50. read more
