During my time there, I experienced what appeared to be favoritism toward Mexican employees while others were treated differently and dismissed regardless of experience or professionalism. Based upon the unprofessional and inadequate on the job conduct of its personnel who are charged with protecting passengers and property at the MTA Norwalk-Hoxie Greenline station, Inter-Con is inept and ineffective. A couple of months ago, hardly anyone was at the aforementioned station early one weekend morning. There was a couple of homeless men acting up and being threatening. I had just bought something to eat and my bus, Norwalk #4 was not due for about 25 minutes. Dressed in the way in the middle picture below, I walked from the bus bays across to the far or east side of the lot to eat in privacy and out of the unpleasant sight and scent of the derelicts who Inter-Con permits to beg, live at and occupy the station. Sure enough, I'm eating and I hear a car drive up. A young male Inter-Con guard, olive skin, about 28, mustache, dark hair and ball cap, says to me, "Are you okay?" "What kind of question is that? Of course I'm okay, can't you see I'm eating? I'm waiting for my bus..." Then the guy condescendingly and insultingly says, "The bus benches are over there." I know where the bus benches are ** it., my bus doesn't get here for 20 minutes and you guys let these homeless **** harass us and you do nothing to protect us so because of you I have to walk over here to eat in peace!" "Okay, okay, it's just a question." But this is par for the course with them: confronting and annoying innocent passengers while ignoring lawbreakers. The sights and scents, the human wreckage that Inter-Con does nothing about which vandalizes, uses drugs, harasses, threatens, begs from innocent passengers. Just today, I arrived to wait for the MTA 125 line and this is what I encountered in the picture: The guy was mumbling to himself, playing with lighters, smoking discarded cigarettes, sometimes speaking with rage, and his scent was nauseating. He then hopped onto the same bus I was on and just as I knew he would, he started punching the air violently and shouting in rage. Look at the picture! This review is for those individuals that are not of Mexican or Hispanic nationality, and are looking for a permanent security home for the next five to ten years in the San Diego, California region. It's hard out here, and repeatedly starting over is difficult. So do your research before you sign. Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is a Mexican American privately founded security corporation that proclaims its rapid growth across the North, South, and African frontiers. They hold contracts with many governing and transit establishments of nations within these continents. However, one has to ask the question, is Inter-Con obtaining these contracts because they are the best, or is it because they are the cheapest? Are they the highest bidder or are they the lowest? As a black female unarmed officer of the San Diego County Inter-Con branch since November of 2025, I can definitely say that this private corporation is deceiving the world. Not only does this private corporation allow its San Diego Managerial Cartel to practice overt nepotism, discrimination, and retaliation tactics; that are in favor of the Mexicans; they have a hard time adhering to the contract that they signed with the San Diego County governing institution. In specification, their employee health benefit requirement states that: 27.1.4. Health, welfare and other employee benefits with an employer contribution equivalent to at least $2.12 per hour. In the public record proposal, Inter-Con states, and has complied with offering a Bronze level insurance policy to its employees. For those that do not know, a Bronze level insurance policy has a low premium (low monthly contributions from your check), but a high deductible (meaning you pay the total medical cost, out of pocket, until the total deductible amount has been reached, then the portion that the insurance covers will kick in, leaving you to pay the remaining balance.). Sounds expensive. It is. The security field is considered a high-risk sector due to exposure to physical, environmental, psychological, and occupational hazards that occur at unpredictable times. So, it is safe to say that a good affordable health plan is highly necessary. Thus, an unarmed security guard that is getting paid $20.00 an hour, which grosses $3200 a month, with an actual net around $1,325 every two weeks, after taxes, in the state of California cannot afford any insurance policy that has high deductible rates. Higher premiums allows one to set a proper budget while also setting aside money to cover the affordable, out of pocket expenses, should something unexpected occur. Let's face it, a $20.00 an hour job in California isn't going to go far, but it does cover the basics for single people or provides a contributing income for others. For now, it is, what it is. If higher premium plans are a better option for individuals and families for the future days to come, why doesn't Inter-Con offer a bank of medical policies that their employees can choose from? Money! What else? If an employee opts out of the insurance policy the employer retains that money to do with it as they please. So, to discourage employees from opting into the medical insurance benefit, they offer the worst possible option. What are they doing with this extra money? Most likely putting it towards their AI, App, and or other research, non-profit generating, goals. What Jeff Bezos said, the slave labor of the Amazon employees made his astronaut goals possible. Boys, girls, and their toys. However, in Inter-Con's case they are not in compliance with the San Diego County contract. They must contribute to a health benefit of some kind, regardless if the employee opts out or not. They are still supposed to pay out the $2.12 an hour. This has been brought to their attention and they are fighting it. Other contractors of the county are sticking to the contract and paying their employees the agreed upon rate if they opt out. We can take that money and put it towards a more viable healthcare plan. A group plan would be cheaper, but a non deductible or a low deductible plan is even better; either way works. Inter-Con really has its unharmed and armed guards out here with no health care coverage. It's wild. In addition to this, members of the San Diego County institutions seem to be in compliance with the Inter-Con antics. Not only did they contract with a company that has a portion of its workforce in Mexico, meaning those workers do not contribute to State income tax. Therefore, they do not contribute to state and local expenses including County employee salaries. They also have to get clarification from Inter-Con, the private corporation in violation of a County drafted contract, if they are supposed to pay the employees, in cash, if they opt out of the group insurance policy or not. That's like a police officer asking a thief if he should be arrested and tried for robbing an establishment. read more

Even the VIN was missed and the location printed on the ticket was not where my car was. In over 9 years of going to Highland, there has never been security and metal detectors at every entrance, only at the ER. This visit had an increased police presence so apparently something serious happened. I had my taser on me cause this is Oakland. I told the female guard about the taser. She assumed I had a vehicle to put it then said she would have to throw it away so I asked if it were a gun would they throw it away; she said any and all weapons get trashed. You'd think they'd log weapons and turn them into the police or something. She said she could not hold it until I returned. I asked her what happened and she said she was just doing her job. She refused to share why they had increase security and police presence. As I was leaving I asked her and the male security guard for a contact to their company to inquire about the increased security and police presence; she hid her name tag and he turned his name tag around (see photos). He said go to the ER and talk to someone. Snapped photos of the both of them so when I reach out to management they'll know exactly who they were. Meanwhile the female guard had her mask off and when I told her it was down she only covered her mouth; nose still exposed (see photo). The hospital requires everyone to wear mask. Not an employee and if I Was looking for a security officer job, my experience today with an officer at the DMV would definitely convince me not to. After waiting in line for two and a half hours, I was directed by the DMV staff to go over to the wall computers to complete my business . They did not specify which computers so as I was attempting to use one, a young security officer came over, Tapped me on the shoulder, and told me I was using the wrong one. He pointed to the opposite wall of computers . I thanked him and went to stand in line, again, til a unit was vacated . He approached me again and told me to go over to the other side. Confused , I politely asked him how could I get over the barrier, and he responded in a rude tone , that I must have 'common sense' to figure it out . I told him he was rude and that it was not polite to treat the public that way. He gave me a few more choice words and I walked away. About an hour later , I was still in the DMV assisting my young son, when the same officer walked by me, this time glaring at me and making raspberry noises with his mouth . I refused to acknowledge him. I felt targeted by him so I reported the incident to a DMV officer. Since the security is contracted, the DMV employee could not help me. I could not get his name from his tag, but I googled Inter Con security and left a voice mail on one the numbers I found . I received a return call later in the day, and the caller was more interested in how I got the number to their business than my experience with someone representing their company. They will keep you on hold for a long time wait for you to hang up when you try to speak to them. Schedules are messed up and nobody is taking responsilbility. Rude and disrespectful! It's disappointing that the City of Pasadena does not have higher standards for the companies that they contract to go out and interact with the residents!!!! I got a parking ticket in front my home after running to the door for less than a minute. 2 Inter-Con men were walking towards my car when I came back out and one stood in front of my driver side door to block me from entering, the other had not even written down my information. When I walked up and said hi the guy put his hand in my face to silence me because he wanted to start writing down my VIN number before I left (which I couldn't do without pushing the other guy out of the way). I said that this was my car and he put his hand up in my face again without even turning his head and said "WAIT!". So once he got my information down I told him I just ran in for a second and he said "I can't stop you from leaving" and that I would get a ticket. Only then did the other one step aside so I could get into my car. What kind of tactics are these??? I don't think I should've gotten the ticket, but even if they HAD to block my entry into my car so they could gather my information and give me a ticket, the rudeness is not ok. I was entering the Minton-Capehart Federal Building at 575 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN today (May 3, 2019) at around 7:56, for a 8:00am appointment. Upon entering I went to go through the security entrance and was informed that the building did not open until 8:00am and that I would need to wait outside. While waiting I noticed that both sides of the building were allowing people to enter. I went back inside to ask why certain people were being allowed into the building. I was informed that they were dropping their children off to daycare. When I asked about a woman who did not have a child with her I was informed that she worked there. I said "OK, thanks" and turned around to exit the building and wait until 8:00am to enter. While I was walking away security guard McDonnell hollered at my back in a very condescending way, "We know what we are doing, so just let us do our jobs." I immediately turned around and said "By no means was I trying to be disrespectful, I was just asking a simple question. I am a veteran who appreciates people in security who keep us safe. There was no need for you to speak to me that way." I then turned around to leave and wait outside again, and he continued to holler at my back. I turned around again and said I have not been rude, I have not raised my voice to you and you are being completely unprofessional. I asked for his name and he tapped his name tag and said it was right here and began to walk away. I told him I could not read it and he came closer and said it is right here. The font was really small, and I had to get really close to him to read it. I was uncomfortable getting that close to read it because he had already been rude and verbally aggressive, but, I had to because he would not tell me his name. He acted as if he could care less that I asked for his name. It is sad that this is the service that the Federal government allows at its buildings. read more
