A couple of years ago, I was lent a monitoring device. When I returned it and asked for a receipt the receptionist said they don't give a receipt. A couple of weeks later they billed me a few hundred dollars for the device. Eventually it was cleared up but I saw dishonesty. On 7/15/2025 I went there for a routine checkup with Dr. Kabalkin and they first conducted the 5 minute EKG. He handed me the printout and said I could tape it to my refrigerator. When I asked about the previous diagnostic report. he told me he didn't write the report because he was on vacation and a different doctor wrote it and it's all manufactured lies.For this routine checkup with Dr. Kabalkin on July 15,2025 my insurance was billed $1,337. Why put a person through paying co-pays, billing his insurance at very high rates, making him patiently cooperate with monitoring devices and all kinds of testing if the diagnostic report is all "manufactured lies"? I work at a doctor's office and we referred one of our patients out for bloodwork. This is where they had it done. I've been calling them for 3 days to request the results (which SHOULD have been sent to us automatically since we are the referring physician). Yesterday I finally spoke with someone, she told me "I already faxed those results" - clearly, we did not get them - that is why I am calling. She said she would fax them again, never received. I called again today, spoke to the same woman (who would not give her name), this time she tells me that the patient is not in their system then HANGS UP ON ME. Now the patient is on her way here for a procedure that she needs to have pending these blood results. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service. read more

(I found out my appointment was made from Call center.) I spoke to the call center - they called the front and they helped me right away. Dr saw me right after I registered. This review isn't for 1220 Ave P, but for their building across the street, 1300 Ave P - NYU Langone Women's Health Associates-Midwood. My appointment was at 9:30am. I arrived early, I'll admit, at 9am. I usually do that for medical appointments just in case there are forms or stuff they need me to fill out. I was told, quite rudely, that because I arrived early, I'll need to wait until my appointment time. Whatever, I can wait and told them so. I checked in and sat down. Mind you, the office is completely empty except for me and the staff working there. The time of me writing this review is 9:40am, ten minutes after my appointment time. Nobody's called my name, spoken to me, nothing. Again, the office is empty of other patients. The front desk staff are conversing amongst themselves, and they've been doing so for the last 20 minutes, give or take. Now I don't know if it's because the doctor that's supposed to do my ultrasound isn't here yet or is otherwise occupied, but if you have a patient scheduled to be seen, and you're running late, wouldn't it be courteous to let them know or at least have your front desk acknowledge the patient? Go elsewhere if you're pregnant and needing to do your routine ultrasound checks. Coming here is just going to aggravate you with how unprofessional it is. read more

The most horrific experience of my life. Dr. Strizhak is the rudest, nastiest doctor ever. He out right told me " What do you want me to do for you". I explained all the neurological symptoms I had - he rolled his eyes. He told me to see an MS doctor which I am. I was coming to him for my vertigo- which is listed as a specialty of his on the NYU website. When I saw he had no interest in helping me-I picked up my belongings and asked for my MRI CDs. He went into his office and the Medical Secretary said my CDs were uploading. 20 minutes later - same story. Then I demanded them back as I would not be coming back. More time passed with more stories. Then the Manager came to tell us they gave all my paperwork and images to another patient After hours of lying - we called the cops and the CDs appeared! Magic! They'll yell at you instead of asking for anything and scold you if you are slow to respond you for their rude and aggressive orders There are few good doctors but it's not worth the hassle to be intimidated in this place. ZERO STARS. I've been a patient of this facility way too long for my sanity. Even angelic patience has its limits. I should not have been giving this medical center so many second chances just because it was conveniently close to my home. Big mistake. Every single experience here was HORRENDOUS. Let's start with the wait. Every single time my wait was over two hours and thirty minutes. TWO AND A HALF hours. I understand that waiting is inescapable--but I've never had to wait so long to get my blood taken by a technician, which takes five minutes. I was also always the youngest patient in the room. Take note, this is important. Everyone around me was 65+. Hence, likely why it takes so much time to be finally admitted to see a doctor. The elderly patients require more time. Plus the inefficiency of personnel. Equals you wasting half your day waiting. I've had appointments at various times and days of the week. Same result. Stuck waiting for over two hours. That's when you start hating humanity and questioning the efficiency and effectiveness of the American health care system. When you finally get to see the doctor, you are rushed, as there is a looong line of patients behind you, so you get minimum time and attention. The doctors are in only on certain days, so you have to plan your trip weeks in advance because there is a limited amount of available appointments. The technicians who take your blood and vitals are always in a rush too, so prepare for a very brusque, not first quality service. The next day, you'll be 'surprised' by bright blue bruises all over your body from poorly administered needles. Then there's the rude staff. They miss up/lose your information and test results, do not call you up when it's your time to see the doctor, and are very unprofessional in every manner possible. Every time I had to call the office, I received horrendous customer service. When I made a simple request--to send my medical history to my new primary physician, the Russian staff were extremely rude and condescending, as if they were speaking to a mentally infirm patient who's been bothering them with unreasonable remarks for months. I speak Russian myself and am well aware of the office's protocol and procedures. The obnoxious rudeness is totally uncalled for. My every experience has been marred by very unprofessional Russian speaking staff who think that they are above their patients. Another major red flag: the doctors are looking for ways to charge as much insurance money as possible by prescribing unnecessary procedures. I'm a healthy 22 year old who did not need three different cardiology tests and x-rays to prove that I indeed am perfectly healthy. I had to return to this office multiple times for procedures that I did not need just because my doctor prescribed them 'just to be safe' after I said, multiple times, that I have never suffered any issues with my heart and was just doing a routine yearly checkup. Of course, all those test results confirmed my solid health and what a total waste of resources those procedures have been. This is why the American health care system is in shambles--because medical offices like this one are on a prowl to charge as much insurance money as possible for procedures that are not necessary for patients who do not need them. A perfect example of wasted resources that could've been used to actually improve the quality of received medical service for those who really need it. If you value your time and sanity DO NOT COME HERE. This is the most unprofessional, resource draining medical facility in all of Brooklyn. read more

Service is as bad as it can get !!! Doctor prescribed me insulin, but my insurance card did not cover that particular brand. My pharmacy called 5 times on 5 different days and left messages trying to contact my doctor so the doctor would prescribe different brand of insulin. Doctor never called back. I tried calling 3 times, and after being on hold for 50 minutes first 2 times, a nurse picked up the phone and told me that no one can help me but my doctor who is in the office only couple of days. The end result - 2 weeks i still did not get my insulin, and no point of waiting for help from this office. Have to switch to the different office. read more

Saw Dr.Mara Khaylomskaya for a video chat as a new patient, and if this was any indication of the standards of this facility, I don't know why they haven't shut down yet. First of all, she came onto the call asking me for a couple of minutes while she finished up with another patient (prob so she can bill both of our insurances for her time). The actual time spent with me was about 10 minutes. For all of this "care", my insurance was billed $560!! I'm going to end up paying 230 out of pocket, and my issue is no where close to being resolved. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. This office should be investigated by the DOH for HIPPA violations and malpractice. "Dr." Avruchevskaya has been my Grandmother's primary care physician for over 15 years. My grandma had a fall this summer and lost most of her mobility. She could not get out of bed and required a semi-automatic hospital bed to help her get up. "Dr." Avruchevskaya told her that hospital beds were only prescribed for paraplegics. When we called and questioned "Dr." Avruchevskaya about the hospital bed that my grandma is (in fact) eligible for and entitled to, she had the nerve to tell us that it was "a lot of paperwork" for her to fill out to apply for one. She also refused to write prescriptions for physical therapy, a bedside commode, and other non-pharmaceutical but vital medical equipment. When she was contacted by my Grandma's subacute rehab for a prescription for a raised toilet seat, she told them my grandmother was no longer her patient! Furthermore, her office is consistently a complete nightmare to deal with and is in violation of HIPPA practices. When we called to speak with the "Dr.," her "nurse/secretary" refused to take a message and handed the phone to a patient in the waiting room! The workers who answer the phone at this office are appallingly rude, incompetent, and flat out refuse to take messages. My grandmother's CHAA services, temporary homecare doctor, and physical therapist were told that the doctor is out and to call back later on several occasions. They would not take a message. In short, if you value your health and your sanity, stay far far away from this horrible and immoral woman/office. My grandmother had spent well over a decade cultivating a doctor-patient relationship with them and "Dr." Avruchevskaya completely abandoned her when she was at her most vulnerable. She did, however, offer to make a wellness check appointment so she could continue billing my grandma's insurance. I came here for a medical checkup and to get some blood work done for work needs. They're part of the NYU Health network and they take a wide variety of insurance. Everyone here seems to speak Russian or Hebrew so if you're in need of that kind of doctor, you're in luck. Service was a little impersonal, you feel like you're just patient #768 here. My doctor was Dr. Susan Levit, but I didn't actually see her until the latter portion of my follow-up visit when we had to do the paperwork. All the tests were performed by one of the nurses. The wait times are a little long, both times I came in I had to spend close to 2 hours in the waiting room. I see a lot of Yelpers putting this place down. But I have had a really positive experience with this medical center. I see a doctor there. I always found her professional, kind, helpful, friendly and ready to answer any questions I had. It's true that the medical assistants aren't the best there. But I was seen quickly when I got to my appointment. And I found that if I had any issue with not being able to communicate with a medical assistant about a question I had I would just contact my doctor. Sure that took a little extra time. But in the end it resolved whatever issue or question I had. And during this covid situation they have been extremely helpful in getting things done and trying to set up procedures that have been delayed and staying in contact. Below is a copy of the response I sent in mid-January to Dr. Susan Levit to NYU Langone's standard web-based inquiry "How was your visit?" on behalf of my mother. The doctor did not respond. I think it speaks for itself: * * * The quality of the visit was absolutely positively unacceptable and unprofessional. As you may recall, this was a time urgent matter to fill out a report needed to admit Hannah to a new assisted living in los angeles. She arrived in the new facility a couple of hours ago, but this occurred ONLY because we went to another doctor who cared and gave us the report, which you did not do, even though you were told of the critical deadline. Getting the TB test result was a timing issue, though I have no idea why a major medical organization like NYU Levitt couldn't do it more quickly than CVS could have. The other doctor skipped the TB test and we went with an x-ray report form a few months ago. Thank goodness that doctor was willing to think on her feet and not act like a minimum-wage robot. If we had to rely on you, Hannah would have been in big trouble. SHAME ON YOU!!!! Also, how dare you refuse to write a scrip for the hospital bed and say it's not your job! You know she's non-ambulatory, a fall risk, and needs the hospital bed. Thank God we got another internist to do it. And, and, and . . . how DARE you refuse to answer my sister's questions about safe air travel for a person in my mother's condition other than to say it's not your job and that we should find a specialist!! Specialist in what? You were supposed to be her primary care doctor. What exactly is your job? Seriously, I want to know. Obviously, whatever your job is has nothing to do with the health, safety and well being of your patients. So please, tell me what it is. As disgusted as I am with you and your mean-spirited attitude, I'm enough of a gentleman to at least give you an opportunity to offer a professional response. If you fail to do that, you can expect these sentiments to be communicated to the executive offices of NYU Langone (I'm the one who sent my mother to you because we wanted an NYU Langone practice because we were under the impression it's a top quality organization -- so I wonder if they know how you run things in their main beac-head in the southern portion of Brooklyn), and to the public via Yelp, Healthnet, Zocdoc, etc. read more

I can't say the entire office is horrible. Everyone in the GYN office in the basement with Dr. Moses, and Dr. Pepperman are very nice. The doctors themselves are great. Today for the first time I went to the 4th floor to visit Dr. Irina A. One specific lady who works at the reception desk was UNBELIEVABLY rude to a patient who was an older lady. The people in reception area were clearly talking about her their language and giving the patient the worst attitude. It made me feel so bad I told the woman to go somewhere else, and I felt I needed to leave, and review this place. There was a clear common demographic this office works with. Hopefully you can understand the language so you don't get ridiculed. I ended up leaving, making appointment elsewhere. If I could give zero stars, I would. My appointment was a debacle. The follow up was abysmal. Do not go to the gynecology office here. I waited hours in the waiting room. The staff was rude. The staff and doctor were critical of my birth control choices. I came because I had an ovarian cyst. I wasn't examined for the cyst, I was told to come back in 2 months!! Dr. Joseph Berger then gave me the most uncomfortable pap smear of my life. No warning when he shoved in the speculum. I was told if there was a problem, someone would call me. No one did. The following week, when I was at my primary care physician, she told me that Dr. Berger's office had billed my visit as "an annual physical", which is b.s. He didn't do any sort of examination A few weeks later, I checked my test results in my file, just in case. I saw that my file said to come back in a week, and that I had a yeast infection. I called the office, and was told that I had to come in for the results! What kind of idiocy is that? People are supposed to avoid doctors offices because of Covid-19. Finally, Dr. Berger got on the phone, didn't seem to know what he was talking about, or if he was even looking at the correct file. I don't have cancer, I have a yeast infection. Horribly rude nurses ! My husbands doctor was wonderful. I told the secretary that I wanted to speak to the doctor,regarding the further course of treatment,and concerns regarding a medication. My husband was released by the nurses.I said I wanted to speak to the doctor and was told ,well you'll just have to wait, she's busy with another patient .I spoke up very loud with the intent of the doctor hearing it. The doctor opened her door,and I told her about the incident.She was able to answer 3 questions for me and it took less than 5 minutes. Highly unprofessional conduct by those nurses. read more

Treating people like they are used to back in the USSR. Looking at me like I'm asking for handouts. Nurse/attendant is good though. Just saw me and explained the delay and acknowledged my existence. The worst experience I have ever had in my life. My doctor was more worried about seeing his grandson than doing his job. I had to track him down for a follow up regarding a serious health issue. When I was asked questions that were personal to me the nurse kept the door wide open and yelled to the dr. while she was in my chart. This is not even the full extent of my visit! Dr. Eyal Levit is by far one of best dermatologist that I've ever been examined by. My skin is clearer than it ever was and believe me, I've tried everything under the sun since I was a teen dealing with acne. Also, I love his work on juvaderm injections. He's accurate, very knowledgable, and does exactly what you ask for. Great doctor overall! The entire office are such wonderful people and they always greet me with kindness when I come for an office visit. On another note, the convenience of this office building is that there are multiple doctors that specialize in different health services, which saves you a lot of time and traveling. read more

This place is so messy! I love dr Tsukerman and his medical assistant. Very nice professionals! Front desk is the disaster! So ye I will grade this place based on front desk. I scheduled my appointment via my chart since I hate dealing with his front desk. On Thursday night I had fever and called on Friday morning to switch my appointment from Sunday to Friday with him or anyone who is available. I explained that I had fever last night and don't feel good and if it's possible to switch and I will go with anyone. First of all, the person on the phone could be nice. I used to work for NYU as a front desk personal for 4 years and we always tried to accommodate emergency patients and talk to them, wish them to feel better. I know the whole deal of NYU system. All she did she yelled at me and said we don't have appointments. Mind you I purposely spoke English with her, not Russian. Fine with me. I found urgent care in Manhattan from NYU Langone and doctors and front desk were amazing. Not only they addressed everything I needed. Within an hour I was not only seen and got x Ray there and everything I was diagnosed with Pneumonia!!!! Levit medical NYU Langone is unprofessional! Change your front desk personal! Train them how to talk to patients! NYU constantly provides trainings in customer service! As a former NYU personal I feel that this place doesn't deserve to be part of NYU! This place lives in USSR when being rude is a normal thing. Don't forget you are in customer care business!!!! This way you won't attract any young patients... I get it they like their old Russian patients since they don't have to go crazy with manners and professionalism. Besides they probably love charging Medicare. Their other location in Bensonhurst is very unorganized, front desk can make ur appointment, nurse Marina is so overwhelmed that u r considered to be lucky to get her in the good mood, ur life depends on her especially if u need new Rx or renew it. Everyone throws their duties on each other but Noone bothers to call u back or follow up with u if u have questions or concerns.
