Medications are delivered to both in an accurate and timely manner. The facility is kept clean although some hall odors are sometimes unavoidable. The maintenance, cafeteria, office, LPNs and management staffs have been incredibly courteous and responsive. While I was not personally impressed by the meals, my mom and dad are both happy with the food. They also enjoy the daily, weekly and monthly organized activities. Before going, they confirmed his insurance would be accepted while setting up the appointment and cover his appointment at 100%. A few days later he goes in for his appointment, which he was told again was covered 100% by his insurance. About a week later we received a call saying they don't take his insurance actually at all and we now have to pay $150 dollars out of pocket. We were busy at the time and didn't have the time to deal with issue or talk to them right then, so we decided to call them later to dispute this issue as it seemed a little fishy. Then today, just 4 days since they called us last, they called us again saying that we owed them $150 and if we don't pay ASAP they will increase it to $500. When I tried to explain to person we spoke with that we were told the insurance was not only accepted by covered it at 100% several times, she then started talking down to me explaining as though I was a six year old child trying to explain deductibles to me all while failing to realize their is no deductible on his health plan. So after having enough of this employee try to poorly describe what deductibles are to me for a plan that has none so it's not relevant at all, I thanked her time and told her I would go above her head to speak to someone who actually knows what's going on. After this pathetic attempt at customer service from the location, we contacted corporate who immediately made sure they understood our situation and would do everything in their power to resolve it as quickly as possible. They forwarded the information to the director for review and we are waiting to hear back. The only reason I am adding a second star is because the corporate customer service was polite, friendly, and wanting to help as opposed to the absolutely arrogant attitude of the employee we spoke to at this specific location.

I have inside information about the staff as well that they are given BONUSES whenever they save money on buying the food that they buy, therefore incentivizing the director of the dietary department AND the managers to PURPOSEFULLY not spend an adequate amount of money when buying the food that they serve the residents. Majority of the dietary staff don't eat the food and wouldn't serve the food to their own children, yet they get paid to serve the residents that crap! And it gets better, the doctors? USELESS!! They don't do their jobs AT ALL and it's almost like they get paid to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! The doctors are the worst doctors I have EVER dealt with IN MY LIFE!! They never get back to family members nor residents about anything, they never do anything that they are told to do such as writing prescriptions, checking on certain health issues that residents are having, etc., and they always rush through things and try to leave as soon as they come see the residents, but only come see residents once every 2-3 months!! I could go on and on about the terrible features of this facility and I would be 100% accurate because this is something I've heard MULTIPLE of the residents complain about or agree with, but I'm going to stop because you pretty much get the picture: this place needs to be shut down by the STATE!

The smells get into your clothes(when you come visit) do to it is not kept clean. They are short staffed every week so she has been left in soled clothes until I visit in the evening. The staff is overworked so for every one good employee there are two bad ones. The food looks like meat product leftovers and it is often served cold. My mother has lost 100 pounds since her stay. If you care anything about your loved one please do not place them at symphony of crestwood.
