Had bids from 5 different companies for a travertine patio. Three of them said to overlay the travertine over the existing slate. Ryan came out and advised me not to do that. It was an extra charge to remove the slate but he cautioned me that it was the best way to go. I then got a bid from "high end" company and they not only agreed but said they would refuse to do the overlay. So I selected Interlock. Ryan was patient and returned twice as I changed the design 3 times. Many contractors would have been upset with that but he remeasured and rebid and I ended up with a beautiful backyard and repaved the front entryway too. We went with an Italian theme and my friends kid me that it looks like Caesar's Palace in Vegas. Absolutely love our yard and highly recommend Ryan and his crew. read more

After lots of research and getting quotes from about 5 different paver companies, I went with AE Interlock Design because they had the best bid. I signed the contract and was disappointed to hear that they would not be able to start for a month. They arrived on time and the agreed upon day, and the owner, Asher, came with a crew of 3 men. This was the first time I met Asher, as the entire time I had been working with his employee, Kim, who was sent to make the bid, sign the contract, and shook my hand. When Asher arrived he became upset and told us that he could not do our backyard for the amount of money that we signed the contract for. He said it would be at least a 3 day job and that he would lose money. He offered to give us our deposit back plus a hundred fifty dollars. With my patience waining and 3 palettes of bricks on my driveway, I wanted this job done now. He asked for $550 more than what we agreed upon and signed the contract for. He said this was the first time this has happened. In the same breathe, I signed a contract with this man and he broke it. I don't know about you, but a contract is my word. I told him that this practice was ethically shaky, and that when you bid a job and sign a contract with someone, you eat the cost because a signed contract is your word - and reputation. Overall, he and his crew did a good job. He said that he has not worked a job in 2 years and he stayed to work our backyard because it was technically a difficult job. It also only took them 1 day + 2.5 hours (not the 3 day job he said this would take and the reason he would lose money on it). Again, I believe they do good work, but I will not be using or recommending this company again in the future because of their unethical practices. If I did it again, I would go with John Traynor from Stone Creations. read more

What a total disappointment! After getting several mailers for this company in one of those Val-Pak's over the years I decided to give them a call to price out a project in my backyard. I spoke with Ryan and he told me they would come onsite and provide me with a quote on the spot. He explained Kim would be the person to come out. I took the afternoon off work to meet them at my house so it was especially disappointing when Kim arrived late. He looked around and said he had another appointment he needed to get to and that he would have to come back the next day and spend more time taking measurements. We set up a time the next day and he never bothered to show up (or call). I called him and he said he forgot and that he would stop back by within the next 5 days to take measurements and draw up plans. It's now been three weeks and I have yet to hear from him. I am SO glad I didn't give them any money. I have a feeling that the lack of follow through on the proposal process is indicative of their overall workmanship. I would advise anyone considering them to take their business elsewhere - as I did. read more

We had a question about pavers installed by a different company a decade ago. Interlock Paver Design answered our call after hours on a holiday weekend. They answered our questions without hesitation in an easy to understand way. They even offered a free DIY fix for the problem. When we do need a paver company, we'll definitely come back to Interlock. read more

The crew they sent did a great job. Our backyard was better than our expectations. We will most likely use them for our front yard. read more

They did a big job for me two years ago now. The pavers are holding up great too. The project was complex with step, circle driveway, tree rings, landscape edge and they did a great job as designed by them. I would use them again. read more

This company has a new owner, apparently. Mike came out to survey and give us a price for the work we wanted done. He was very professional and forthright. He came a second time to find out if we had any questions and to go over our plan. We agreed on price and was told the work would take 3 days. Everything went smoothly. The 3 workers were efficient, hardworking, careful and diligent. They finished in the time expected and did a fantastic job. We made a slight change that didn't cost much at all. Mike came during the 3 days to look over things. And Ryan Armistead, the owner, came twice to check on the work and ask if we had any questions. We're very happy with our backyard redesign and the company we hired. read more

Ryan's crew arrived each morning at 7:30am and worked quickly to take away my old patio that was falling apart, then built a new patio twice as big in a day and a half. They listened to what I wanted, adapted along the way to changes in the design, and didn't charge me any additional money. At the end of the project they took away all the debris and left the area clean. I love the new patio and would definitely use this company again. read more

I had pavers installed on a walkway in front of my house and in area on the side of my house. The pavers look good. On the side of my house I have a drainage issue that I explained to the salesman needed to be taken into consideration. During the installation I attempted to communicate with the worker my concerns but evidently a language barrier prevented complete understanding. When the job was completed the new pavers aggravated the drainage issue. Ryan the owner came out to review the issue but he would take no ownership of the problem. Despite my living in the house for over 6 years he would not believe that I knew how the water drained at my house. I would not use the company. read more

A Total NIGHTMARE! Working with interlock paver design company has been the biggest frustration! After receiving the initial bid, I was called repeatedly to see if I wanted to schedule the work. I finally agreed and they came and completed the work. Their bid was lower than the others so I went with them. BIG MISTAKE. The work was to lay pavers over an existing concrete patio and also extend the patio with pavers. They laid down a shallow layer of sand and started laying pavers. Big surprise the new pavers on sand began to sink creating loose pavers at the point where the concrete ended. a real mess. I have called Kim multiple times to come correct the problem. He sent a crew of one to repair. All he did was pull them up throw a little more sand down, and leave. problem remained. They are telling me they can't help it because rain and sprinkler water will cause sand to errode. ???I continue to try to get them out but always get the "yeah we may be in the area " story, but they never show up. The worst customer service AFTER THEY GET YOUR MONEY. This paver job is embarrassing and dangerous. Several people have tripped over the loose pavers! If you're looking for a paver company they may be it. If you're looking for landscapers not so much. Why would you plant soon to be big bushes right next to each other? We were new to the area and did not know any of the bushes or how big they would get. I now have a jungle in one area! Warranty on plant replacement of the ones that didn't take were replaced with cheesy smaller plants when the initial plants were nice and lush. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for....so pick the landscaper that might be slightly higher in price. You won't regret not using Interlock. read more

Stay away for this company....Very unprofessional and won't do the right job....Very unhappy with job....Didn't perform as promised. Failed to lay weed guard down and am fighting this issue daily. Pavers were done to eliminate the problem...Sorry that didn't happen...Load'em and leave' em artists.....Beware... read more
