I've explained this to these ladies. They don't care. Many times referrals are not sent for labs are radiology and I've had to physically go into the office to pick these up. The best part was when he informed us that he will be seeing my wife and I for every scheduled appointment and, if at all possible, all the emergency visits as well. I personally have several health issues. I'm currently being treated by 2 other doctor's offices. It's very important to have my PCP as a quarterback of sorts to oversee and coordinate all care. My wife had blood test results from a wellness visit organized by our health insurance through Quest Labs. Dr. Duenas took plenty of time to go through each result with us. He seemed to have all the time in the world for us even though I'm certain that was not the case. I could go on and on and on, but I will leave with last point. My wife is Filipino and I chose Dr. Duenas because it showed that he spoke Tagalog. Even though she speaks English just fine, I wanted to be sure that my wife's care didn't suffer from any miscommunication. That worked well. Unfortunately, after he moved out of state, I was transitioned to Dr. Carmel Moazez, and the quality of care completely changed. To make matters worse, the wait times and scheduling are unacceptable. It takes months just to get an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) scheduled, and if the office cancels on you--which they did to me--you are pushed to the back of the line and have to wait about another two months just to get rescheduled. When you do finally get an appointment, Dr. Carmel Moazez is extremely pushy when it comes to prescribing pharmaceuticals. She relies heavily on standard medication algorithms rather than looking at the individual patient in front of her. Despite bringing in advanced cardiovascular imaging showing absolutely zero plaque (a CTA score of 0) and sharing my evidence-based lifestyle and neutraceutical protocols, she was dismissive and aggressively pushed a statin and blood pressure medications. If you want a traditional 'pill-for-every-ill' doctor, she might be a fit. But if you are an educated patient looking for a collaborative physician who respects your boundaries, looks at root causes, and supports integrative medicine, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.
