The receptionist (wish I had gotten her name) was on the phone with a patient helping to give them directions. She looked up and smiled to acknowledge me which was nice. She was also so patient with the person on the phone! When she hung up she was extremely personable and upbeat. When the nurse that day came to get me (can't remember her name either!) she was SO nice! Very sweet and overall lovely demeanor. As she updated my information, she was professional and kind. Dr. Canova is always a pleasure to be around and I really appreciate the attention and care that she gives to me whenever I see her. Even though I only see her typically once a year, she makes me feel very comfortable and I can tell that she genuinely cares about my health and well being. She listens attentively and with empathy and understanding and answers all of my questions honestly. Although the wait was a bit long, Dr. Canova immediately apologized, however, I tend to be understanding as I know it is usually because the doctor is helping another patient and I always want the time to be cared for and have all of my questions answered so I totally get it! I didn't have a prescription for a mammogram in the portal, and as I had an appointment with her in January I figured I'd get a prescription for it then as it was only a couple weeks away. That would have made me about 4 weeks overdue for a mammogram. During my January appointment I asked Dr. Prefer for a mammogram prescription and immediately after our appointment I got a very hostile note in the portal from her basically saying I was a terrible patient for not having a mammogram and I best shape up if I wanted to be her patient. Baring in mind that I was 4 weeks overdue AND I DIDN'T HAVE A PRESCRIPTION from her for a mammogram. I'm not sure what she had expected me to do without a prescription, and I began to wonder if I was supposed to get one without a prescription and called the imaging center. They said I could "self refer" if I met certain low risk criteria. So I scheduled an appointment as a self referral for later that week. In the meantime I went to the pharmacy for a flu shot and the pharmacy tech told me that they tried to auto refill my usual prescriptions but my doctor had called and canceled all my women's health prescriptions. I asked who would cancel basic maintenance meds and - it was Dr. Prefer. The pharmacy said they never see this. She canceled them the very same day as our appointment. Because I was 4 weeks overdue for a mammogram - AND AGAIN - DID NOT have a prescription. I had my self referred results sent to a new provider who shared in my outrage. People project all sorts of nonsense onto others - but at the point I'm paying $200 for a 20 minute appointment filled with projections of nastiness and hostility is completely unacceptable and frankly entitled and gross. For many young women, going for the first ever gynecological exam feels frightening and/or embarrassing. Back then, I was anxious about all medical exams and procedures. Physicians in general scared me and I had already had a bad experience with the very first gynecologist I had tried. Dr Prefer listened to my fears and reassured me in a very calm, soothing voice. She really took her time explaining everything and getting me used to the whole idea of a gynecological exam. I trusted her and was able to relax. Over the last 25 years, Dr Prefer has been there for me consistently, even once late at night for an emergency. I appreciate so much how she has taken care of me all the way from young adulthood through to perimenopause! There's a reason that I drive an hour to see Dr Prefer, and it's that she is and one of the top three doctors I have ever been to for anything in my entire life! Really, I can't imagine a Dr being more caring, approachable, knowledgeable, kind, and thorough than Dr Prefer is. Thank you Dr Prefer!

He's an expert at what he does, loves what he does and has incredible bedside manner. When you are pregnant you visit your OBGYN a lot, so it's important to have good relations with your doctor. Dr B is super knowledgeable, but most importantly he really cares about his patients. If you have a question you can call him up anytime and he will be there for you. I could not have been more thankful for this, especially during Covid when there are a million questions about what you can and can't do. Everyone at the practice is super sweet too -- Dr Valarezo, all of the nurses and the front desk staff. I really appreciated this. It was always nice to see friendly faces, especially since my husband couldn't come to most visits because of Covid. I had such a positive birthing experience because of Dr B. He has a great sense of humor, and at points he even had me laughing on the delivery table, which I never in a 100 years thought I'd be doing. I developed an infection postpartum and needed antibiotics. There was a mishap and they didn't get called into my pharmacy before the closed up for the night. I really needed the antibiotics that night, and Dr B literally had me on the phone while he was searching for a pharmacy that was still open. If that doesn't speak volumes about the kind of doctor he is than I don't know what does.... Most importantly - my baby girl is healthy and happy. I'm so thankful to have had such a great OBGYN!

This was my first time scheduling an annual gyno appointment with a male doctor so I was initially hesitant, but Dr. Hirsch and the rest of the staff made me feel comfortable the entire time. He has such great bedside manner, and he's very thorough and professional. Highly recommend if you're looking for a new gyno in the area!
