My husband and I drive all the way from Johnson city to Knoxville for this store. We used to love coming here, but recently we have noticed it has gotten very messy and unorganized. It is difficult to browse when you're constantly tripping on products that are being stored along the perimeter and infront of shelves. Also, the woman that owns the store (I assume) is very rude to the staff and has no qualms about presenting her nasty attitude right before customers. read more

Truly a gem of a place. Authentic meats. Polish foods too. Amazing selection. Very well stocked and they carry nice quality caviar, you just have to ask for it. Well worth the trip. Really helpful and skilled staff make this place enjoyable to shop at. There is NOTHING like this within 200 miles. The chocolate is eye opening, especially the Russian ones. read more

I came here in search of German delicacies for my father-in-law who grew up in Germany. The store is tucked back in a shopping center, so I never would've found it had I not used my GPS. They carry a huge variety of meats, baked goods, spices, and cooking mixes. The products are very authentic. Luckily my husband knows enough German to navigate the labels. My favorite part was the selection of lebkuchen. We bought several types, and all tasted fresh. My son had fun looking through the European candies. This is an interesting store to visit, even if you aren't looking for anything in particular! read more

I have passed this sign dozens of times, but it's been so vague I've never stopped in, besides being a huge fan of international food. Just stopped in here today briefly so I can't give a real detailed review. They sell Eastern European and Russian items (Eastern European Delicacies would be SUCH a better name) Caveats: I know little to nothing about Eastern European food in general, or Russian food in particular. And really don't speak any of the related languages. That said, they were selling a ton of awesome looking candy, lots of cookies, etc. Also a deli counter with meats/cheese, I didn't really see that they were making sandwiches but I could have just missed it. Plenty of tea, a decent selection of coffee, and, AND: Frozen blintzes, frozen pierogies! (Ok, having lived in NY, those are two things I do know about). Unfortunately didn't have much time in here and will have to come back, but I found some amazing Polish chocolates filled with an adult-type substance on sale (apparently they were Christmas candies), oh man, amazing. I should have bought all of them. Def. check them out if you're interested in food from this region. read more

I've been going here almost since they opened. I just can't say enough good things about this little market. So much packed in here to discover, and at reasonable prices. Most of the foods are Eastern European, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, etc., but there are many Western foods too, some German, Turkish. The owners and staff are friendly and knowledgeable, which is important, as I only speak English and German. My favorites are the huge variety of sausages, like Weisswurst, Georgian Kupaty, Hungarian, Polish Kielbasa and then the wide variety of mushrooms, sauerkraut and canned veggies, the awesome teas, and the fresh biscuits (cookies). Periogies, and even the Polish butter. I have to say that this was my late wife's favourite grocery. It was always fun going with her, as she was from the NYC area, and Hungarian descent. She delighted in everything here. Although I miss going with her, the market is still much fun! read more

Great little store with nice selection of (predominantly) East European foods. My wife and stepson are from Ukraine and this is our go-to shop in Knoxville for their food faves, such as buckwheat, sunflower oil, mineral water, kvas (an East European near-beer), raw honey, as well as Ukrainian/Russian-style lunch meats, cheeses, etc. Most things are imported, some are domestically made but in East European style. Nice place to visit and try things If you're an adventurous eater. read more
