Attended the last Cleveland Boat show in this facility. I understand next year it will be in the Cleveland convention Center. This has always been a great location for various shows over the years. Especially in the winter months. This boat show sponsored by Progressive Insurance did not disappoint. Always great vendors, and boats to view. Additionally, it is always great to catch up with boat friends. Hope the relocated boat show will be as well diverse with boats, vendors, Lake Erie pride and boat education and safety. I've been to a few expo center's in my day, and this one seems to have been the biggest one yet! I came here for the cat expo and was surprised at how big it was. They do charge a $10 parking fee and the lot's HUGE. I found out that they do have an uber drop off area on the East side of the building if you want to avoid the parking fee and skip the walking part through the parking lot. this place is also adjacent to the airport, so be prepared for low flying planes! Walking in its a very large space and there were people directing foot traffic when you get there. They also have TV screens with welcome messages and other information so keep an eye out for that. The event I went to was on the main floor so it was easy to find. I didn't see a ticket booth area since I purchased my tickets ahead of time. Regarding food, I can't tell which vendors were permanent or visiting. They had a variety of items to choose from, but I also assume the selection varies depending on what event is happening. The layout of your event may vary depending on how stuff is set up here, but the first time I needed to go to the bathroom, I had to walk down a huge flight of stairs into the basement area. Bathrooms seemed well kept here, but the stairs are not handicap friendly. The second time I had to go (before I left) that restroom was far easier to use due to the lack of stairs. There's plenty of signage around so you know where you're going to find them. They had a cool entry way into the building with plenty of ceiling decor and stars hanging throughout which was nice to look at. Place was in good shape overall, and quite huge. read more

I've been visiting the IX Center since I was a kid. I was always mesmerized by its size. On this visit to the Cleveland Auto Show, the floor plan was rearranged in an unusual way. They were doing renovations on the IX Center, which apparently disallowed the regular auto show floor plan. So we had to walk for five minutes after entering the west side building to get to the auto show, which was on display on the east side of the building. During the walk, there were some very interesting pictures on display of the IX Center when it was a tank factory. Amazingly, the auto show takes up less than 25% of the floor space available and it's no small auto show. This building is huge. read more

This is a big center where several events are held throughout the year. So far in 2019, I visited for the International Cat Show (no, I don't actually like cats that much...haha), the Trick or Treat Halloween event, and the Christmas Connection event. All those events were fun and you can view my attached photos. BUILDING - As stated earlier, the building is huge. There is security present and always someone willing to help if you have a question. FOOD - There is a food court inside but the food is expensive. The food is basically fast food such as pizza and fries so nothing healthy. Coffee and tea are for sale too. Parking fee varies per event but I've never had to pay since I came as a vendor. You can never be bored in Cleveland because there is always something to do so hop on down to the I-X center for your next family fun activity. I recently went to the I-X Center for an art expo. You have to pay to park, I think it was $10. The space itself is huge. It can host multiple expos at once. The decor is a bit dated, but overall the space was clean and airy. read more

We went to the Home & Garden Show at the I-X Center. I'm glad that they bring in a lot of different shows that we can go and get some steps in. Of course it's always very crowded. The Home and Garden show is great way to get acquainted with different businesses, contractors, etc. There is also so many other vendors there that have nothing to do with Home nor Garden. The flowers are so beautiful, great job with the displays. I know how difficult and time consuming these shows can be. They had a separate area with beautiful backyard decks, etc. Honestly it's a phenomenal way to dream for awhile. A little piece of beautiful heaven. The beverages are too expensive. A beer was $10 for 20 ounces. A coffee mocha was over $5, this was not a Starbucks. read more

The IX center is a shining gem in the area of Cleveland Hopkins Airport. It is a cavernous former tank plant turned into an exposition center. Everything from the car show to the indoor amusement park to concerts are held here. What fewer people may know, however, is that there are a large number of meeting rooms located in the basement for events. I attended one of those this week, and it was a great venue. Additionally, the catering is shockingly good. For two days, lunch was some of the best banquet style food I've had. I was surprised and impressed. Ample parking is available. I have many great memories from the IX Center from over the decades, from seeing the Jurassic dinosaur event to the I Love the 90s tour, and look forward to continuing to make many more great memories there. read more

I am going to echo what a lot of people already said below, but this place was really nice, and exceeded my expectations. We drove up from Pittsburgh for the big motorcycle show, and this place was easy to get to, traffic getting in was not too bad, parking was reasonable ($10) and it was a very cool venue. The bike show was well laid out, and the place was nicely decorated, had clean restrooms, and lots of food and drink options (although I didn't eat or drink anything here, because I had packed my own drinks and snacks (and nobody stopped me from bringing my own food and drink, so that was cool)). I hear this place was an old tank factory from WWII, but it was not evident at all that this was an old building. It felt modern and very bright and well lit inside. ALSO, believe this or not, but they had a giant Ferris Wheel inside that people were riding!! I had never seen anything like this before outside of Las Vegas. After the show, it was easy getting out, and they also had a cool old airplane on display outside the building (and this building was located right next to the airport, so you got to see lots of airplanes taking off on the runway next to this center, really cool if you happen to like seeing airplanes) . . . This is a nice space for an expo or show. It has a ferris wheel in the center, and when you are at the top you can actually see outside/over the building. They have a number of food items that are realistically priced (unlike some convention centers that charge for food like a movie theater.) It is very convenient to the interstate, the Cleveland airport, and Cleveland itself. The parking lot is also large, and on the premises. I was here today for the International Motorcycle Show. I attend many events at this place. It is one of my favorite venues. Anytime you can see a full house, motorcycles, and full size RVs on display, I'm in heaven. First they work hard on trying to direct parking so that they are not backed up in the street for miles. If people pay attention to the traffic directors you will enter quickly. I have never met a person in the ticket booths for parking with a bad attitude. Dont know how heated those booths are but a motorcycle show in January is the best place to be. Was warm this year but last year it was freezing. Its going to be the same theme all the way through. The staff from the ticket takers, the coat booth, concession stands, and bars were outstanding. Someone always willing to talk to you and ask you about your experience. Great Venue for large displays. They have a very professional staff and the place is clean and well kept. I am not sure who put the price on the concession stands but they are a bit high. I understand that prices are going to be a little inflated but they are bit pricey. read more

I won some tickets for the trick or treat Halloween event and took my husband and son. 2 year or younger was free entry into the trick or treat part and everything else was free. When we walked in the building there was a huge pumpkin display and an area in front of it to take pictures. There were a few iron man displays that caught our attention and a huge wheel spinning in water with exotic animals in front if it. My son enjoyed looking at the display. We entered into the trick or treat event and took a few pictures in front of another display. The atmosphere was dark and spooky but not too much. There were dim lights and light music playing. They had themed areas set up behind each candy table. The displays were very creative. The characters were really friendly to the children and took pride in their displays and what it did. Once we went thru, we exited out to the main center and it was filled with vendor tables handing out candy. The vendors were really nice and not very pushy. There were also tons of rides, most of which my tot was scared to get on. They had an area that kids were able to take pictures with superheros and princesses. They had groups doing dance recitals. They had conssesion stands and cotton candy. Overall, my son had a great time, it was a nice family event and sent him home snoring. read more

Fine. But there's no water. Bring bottles and don't expect to be able to refill them. No drinking fountains, multiple food vendors claim to have no tap water (which, if true, none of them are washing their hands and that's just nasty), no bottle filling stations. A working Ferris wheel inside the convention center?! I think I saw someone puke on this ride, so no, I won't be riding it. Like this building, I'm thinking this Ferris wheel is really old too. I was here for the Cleveland Auto show. Because the building is old options are slim for food and don't get me started on the restrooms. Ugh. Expensive food and it's not necessarily the best tasting. Bring your own snacks is my advise. I see a lot of complaints about parking but for the auto show, parking is free courtesy of the Cleveland auto dealers. I guess normal pricing is $20. I'd be pissed if I paid that for this place. It's next to the airport, so easy in/out. You can walk from one end to the other in about 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly and they're the reason I bumped up this review from 2 stars to 3. Smiles and awesome attitudes all day. That's tough when you're surrounded by thousands of crazy car people. read more

"What a giant ugly piece of crap!" is what the original builders of the tank plant that would become the I-X said as they stared at the barren field before them. So they decided to beautify that wasteland with a massive edifice dedicated to destroying the third reich. After all that war business was over, they needed to do something with this place. Amusement park? Why not. Auto shows? Sure. Sometimes unscrupulous "deep discount" shows where foreign dudes sell stuff that fell off of a truck? Rarely, but it's happened. We used to come to the auto show for art school field trips. Emphasis on the trip. One time a classmate took acid and freaked out there. We all had to wait on the bus to go home as he was sedated. Back then the auto show was really cool. I'm not that into cars as an adult, but i am into my house. The home and garden shows are a bit of a bore. Vendors and such. But the fantasy gardens they set up are fun to imagine yourself in back at your measly abode. I've never attended the indoor amusement park, and God willing, i never will. Overall, it is useful. More convenient for west siders than east siders versus a downtown convention center. The food is gross and overpriced. The restrooms are usually up to snuff. And the traffic flow in and out from the freeway is usually not too bad. OH wait! I forgot my favorite thing to visit here. The dog show!! It is heaven for a canine lover. They have skills exhibitions, vendors, and lots of cute pooches getting all dolled up. The I-X gets Best in Show. read more

I came from Pittsburgh to experience the fabulous food show at the I/X center this weekend, Saturday to be exact. I had come to this event last year as well and I think this year was just as positive. Several celebrity chefs were there-Tyler Florence,Carla Hall,Michael Symon to name a few. They did cooking demonstrations that were cool to watch. This is a huge venue that houses a ton of vendors for events like this. At the front was a craft fair that was free admission. In the center was the Beer pavilion The beer pavilion was cool-$15 could get you six samples of beer,wine,liquor in any combo you wanted. I tried some great Ontario beers and some wonderful five finger lake region wines. The food trucks ranged from tacos to german fare to sliders to a truck specializing in risotto balls. I sampled a beef brisket slider that was tasty. Tickets were $2 each and most food items were between 2 and 4 tickets. All of the vendors were set up in the middle to offer samples or explain their products. Highlights for myself included: Yuengling pulled pork, Daisy cakes (chocolate cake,carrot cake,and red velvet-delish icing),Heavenly Dips (shrimp cocktail dip is amazing), Cleveland Jams (jam made with GLB beer),and Graeter's ice cream.This is a great event each year and I'm already looking forward to next year! read more

The IX Center. Really not much to say. This is an old military installation where tanks were manufactured. Today it is used in whole or part to facilitate trade shows. It also has smaller trade show centers within itself. When I say smaller they are still very large. Parking is private, secure and patrolled. The building is massive, clean and hosts all kinds of shows from Trade shows for various industries to the International Boat Show, The Car show, and most recently the show I attended; The International Motorcycle Show. read more

For years the International Exposition (I-X) Center has been one of the cleanest and most well-maintained convention venues I've been in. Generally it's like a giant no-frills aircraft hangar with plenty of indoor floor space to completely contain large "supershows" like amusement parks, RV, boat, car, home & garden shows and expos. It is located just outside of City of Cleveland limits at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), convenient for folks in western Cuyahoga and eastern Lorain Counties. Lots of indoor food venues (pricey) including beer and a Subways stand (although every time we are there it seems that most of them are closed). First aid station on site. And, for some reason, has its own indoor ferris wheel and zip line. Ample paid parking - no free parking options anywhere close enough to walk from. What I dislike are the exorbitant costs for both attendees and exhibitioners. I've seen parking range from $8 to $20 a car (that, of course, doesn't include price of admission). Recently, a vendor explained his price of admission for attending the show - strictly the floor space to park his RVs - was $70,000 for a few days. I understand there's a cost in keeping this facility as well-maintained as it is but somebody's making buku bucks... read more

Let me just say this. Whatever you are going to the IX Center to see, it better be worth it. And eat before you go! - the price of food and drinks there is obnoxious. If I were you I would at least sneak in your own drinks. - beers are $6 liquor is $8 .... Nuff said. - parking is ten bucks. Some stuff you just can't get around. This Expo center offers an indoor amusement event every year during the spring break time of year. We went a few days ago, I a gotta tell you that it was alot of fun. We were actually there for about 8 hours. The place it self is enormous with plenty of rides for both the kiddies and teens. One main attraction is the huge Ferris wheel. It actually is set in the middle of the building and is permanently in place. It extends up through the ceiling where there is a glass enclosure of which gives you a view of the Cleveland Airport. It was great. Another important note is that they have fair food. Expensive-Yes but worth it to get the whole experience of being at a fair but it's inside this huge complex. Admission is pricey but we were given a family four pack (4-admission tickets and a parking pass) of which my sister paid $60. Regular admission is $19, under 48" is $16 and kids under three are free so it was a pretty good package to get. Great time here and yes we will go back next year. read more

The IX Center is a massive exhibition center located at the end of the main runways at Hopkins Airport. According to their website, they have over a million square feet of space! Just to give you an idea of how big it was, I attended the Fabulous Food Show here and it only took up a small section of the center. If they had gone a little bit bigger, it would've been perfect, and it would've been just shy of a 1/3 of the center! It is visitor friendly though, as all of the events I've been to here have been layed out well. There are permanent food vendors that sell basic fare, such as pizza and burgers. Overall, the IX Center is a great place for exhibition events that's visitor friendly and offers tons of space. Note: I'm only a visitor. read more

It's a love hate relationship with this place. One observation is that the events themselves keep getting smaller and smaller. So I hate that you are getting less and less for the price of admission (which is on the high side). I love the fact that they are close by and it does brings in some interesting events, but I hate the fact that they rip you off every chance they get. Starting when you enter the gate with $10.00 just to park. From the coat check to the price of food, beer and water you better bring a full wallet when you go. But I guess we should just bite the bullet because of the service they provide. I won't stop going (for now) but I will do my eating and drinking elsewhere. read more

I and my GF went there for the I LLove The 90s show. Grat time and surprised on the set up for a concert festival. One problem was no air and it was humid! But they did a good job nonetheless. We wished parking was a bit more affordable, but it's understandable. It's been a good place for the most part. read more

I have been both an exhibitor and a customer for the IX Center. The place itself is cool to look at behind the scenes and in front, because it's an old hanger. The shows and exhibits they bring in are entertaining and unique. The staff is very professional and polite. My issue is with the pricing. You pay thousands (literally) of dollars to be part of just a two day show. Then you have restrictions on how you can carry things in and set up. On top of paying just to be part of a show, you have to pay extra for electricity, tables, chairs, carpet AND labor to carry your things in. You cannot use wagons to bring your things in. If you use anything with four wheels you must pay to have the IX center help you....what? I feel bad for the staff. I see a lot of angry vendors fighting with security about bringing things in to tear down their booths and leave. I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't understand why I need to pay to have someone help me drag a 45lb wagon in to tear down a booth. Then when you go downstairs and see how gross the bathrooms are and how many toilets are "Out of Order" you can't really understand where your money is going. It's definitely frustrating for sure!! read more

Went to the Cleveland Auto show this past Saturday 1 March 2014. It was the largest I have ever seen to date. This year I am in the market for a car and was really looking forward to taking advantage of all the different models at one location. Biggest problem were all the kids. I got sick and tired of waiting to look at a car because little 13 year old Johnny had to play around inside the car for ten minutes. Then there were those idiot parents who think it's cute to put little 1 year old Johnny in the drivers seat and take a half dozen pictures while those of us that are seriously shopping have to wait around. After a few hours of this we all got disgusted and decided the show was a waste of time. I will never go again as there is little to no control and it's utter chaos with all the kids and their idiotic inconsiderate parents. read more
