This is a pretty large venue/restaurant. The staff there are friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Every staff member we encountered was wonderful. We just ordered appetizers, but every appetizer we ordered was fantastic. We ordered meatballs and arancini. The place was decorated for Christmas. It was beautiful, classy, and fun. I had the most wonderful experience at Via Roma! From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was spotless and welcoming, and every detail from the hostess to the managers showed a high level of professionalism and personal touch. Our server, Alecia, was absolutely top tier! She was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about all things Via Roma. I had originally looked over the menu online, but thanks to her salesmanship, we completely changed course and I'm soooo glad we did! She recommended the fritto misto to start, which was phenomenal. The house-made focaccia bread was perfectly baked and full of flavor. My dad, visiting from California, ordered the veal tortellini which was super flavorful and honestly something I would've ordered myself. I went with the Parmigiano with chicken, which was to die for! The chicken was perfectly breaded and bursting with flavor. My son had the braised short ribs, and the creamy polenta they came with was hands down one of the best I've ever tasted! I literally couldn't resist stealing bites! The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the cocktails were fantastic! Via Roma is truly a hidden gem. Just had dinner there for my mothers 75th birthday. Will never be back. It's a beautiful menu and everything sounds great - but doesn't taste good at all. Plus the service is remarkably slow. Food and services were outstanding. Ambinance is just so-so, as the restaurant is a room inside the event center, but they did well with what they had to work with. Linen table cloths and napkins as well as nicely designed menus overcome that lack of character. So about the food, we started with the Brussel Sprouts. They were the BEST Brussels I've ever had. Via Roma was amazing! We had a bunch of apps: meatballs, stuffed peppers, burrata, and mussels, and every single one was so good. Honestly could've just made a meal out of those. For dinner, I had the scallops and my fiancé got the chicken parm. Both were incredible. Super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Now is a great time to check out Via Roma on Ridge Rd that was Carrie Cerrino's. The Grotto Bar in the basement is decorated beautifully for Christmas and is Santa's Speakeasy. They offer Happy Hour drinks & apps everyday (even weekends). We tried all the apps and loved the deviled eggs and mortadella sliders. The stuffed peppers and meatballs were good too. I tried the lemon drop martini made with house made limoncello and came with a bubble on top. Great selection of Holiday drinks, desserts and other menu items. We had such a pleasant dining experience at Via Roma last night. It's a cozy, festive atmosphere with a fireplace in the dining room. The staff was so friendly and attentive. I loved that they did not rush us yet we didn't have to wait for anything. The super personable manager stopped by to check on us, also. He recommended a beautiful Italian, Barbera wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was incredible. The lamb shank was a favorite. My filet was cooked perfectly and the pasta was amazing. We celebrated NYE 2026 with Dinner. Our reservation was 5:45pm, thank goodness. We were told at the time of calling that it was the last available! We arrived and were seated quickly. There was a problem with our booth and asked for a change. The restaurant was relatively still open so they were kind to move us to another booth. We were provided menus and a Special NYE menu which we ordered from. Special Nite/Special Price. Then.... everything went downhill from there. Our server was excellent; however, our food was served Very Slowly.... 1st the App. (quick & good) .... then salad.... waited 20m. Our server inquired/realized we were still waiting.... finally arrived. Now 30m pass after our salad before our main entree. Yeah! Main entree, surf & turf. We asked for melted butter (warned it was only served w/lemon) and waited, asked 2x... then 3x. 20m later our melted butter arrived, but the lobster tail was cooled. We then asked for takeout on our remaining items (balance of dinner and dessert) ........ 10m... 15m.... finally the server came back realizing we hadn't had our food packed up yet. Took our food to the kitchen. Returned to provide our check, but we hadn't received our 'doggie bag' yet. Another 15m... Finally got our 'doggy bag', inquired about our dessert (she remembered!), paid check and was out in 2hrs. We watched others who arrived after us just placing their dinner order or receiving their entree. For a Holiday with reservations and Planned Spec Menu, they needed more kitchen staffing. Worst service I've received. Very disappointed. As we left, we overheard those waiting to be seated complaining about their reservation time and the host tried to explain that the guests are taking longer to eat than planned...... St. Michael's Class of '66 celebrated our 60th Reunion on May 14. With the help of Josh, the General Mgr., and waitresses - Eliana and Danielle - the night was a huge success. This was my second time dining at Via Roma. My first experience was fantastic from the service to the food. I wish I could say the same about my recent visit. It was not busy when I arrived as they had just opened. The waitress was very slow overall and not very attentive. We waited a long time for our drink order and our food order to be taken. The food was subpar. My chicken was overcooked and the sauce on my husband's dish looked like tomato paste. He also commented that it was oversalted. First off, it being a Wednesday, wine bottles are half off. I love Veuve Cliquot and to get that half off is unheard of! Started with the burrata.. it's a different take on it and the only thing holding it back from being great was the butternut squash was too raw, a little tenderness would have brought out the sweetness. My husband took me here for a surprise birthday dinner. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were seated at a nice cozy booth. Our server was wonderful and very accommodating. The friendly staff was excellent in filling in with whatever we needed, whether it was clearing plates, refilling waters, fresh cracked pepper on our salad, or fresh Parmesan on our meals. Our food was delicious. We split the Caesar salad advised by our server. Highly recommend Mama's White Sauce pasta. The tiramisu was outstanding, although my birthday treat was even better. first off went for "happy hour" in Thursday (July 24) advertised as 3 to 6. went to the bar to find it totally darn, no indication other than the dark that it wasnt open. after checking with the hostess (because the website didn't indicate you were closed for whateve who had no clue, business was slow so you can have happy hour in the dining room. I go to happy hour for the ambience of the bar, not sitting in a dining room. List that on facebook or your website. came with a few people only for a big let down. We ordered from the happy hour menu which was confusing cuz their were two menus...wich appeared one was old and one was upda Needless to say, we ordered flatbread, meatballs and peppers .. Food was okay.. we left and went to BISTRO 130. BISTRO far surpassed Via Roma.... Offered the same apps for basically the same price..AND....They had an amazing bartender with amazing drinks for full price that was half of Via Roma's regular price and the ambience was warm and welcoming.. BEWARE: Attended New Year's Eve dinner there: Reservations at 7 pm , ordered 15 minutes later, received food hour after that. I had shrimp & scallop dinner and was told my face was losing color within the hour. Spent the next 12 hours violently vomiting with diarrhea. Haven't been this sick in over 4 or 5 decades! Another person at my table had a pasta dish that had so much pepper she couldn't eat it. She took it home and her son tried a couple of bites (he likes spicy) and got ill right away. Danielle was kind, knowledgeable and very attentive. Atmosphere was cozy and warm. The real gem of this restaurant is the high quality food. . We had the gnocchi in spicy vodka sauce and the mushroom sachetti . Both dishes were devine. They were cooked perfectly with so much flavor. All pasta is homemade. Do you monitor the plates coming back from the dining room? Rest assured that you will learn everything you need to know about your business from observing this! The shared first course of a calamari appetizer was exceptional. The complimentary tasting of the Oregon Pinot Noir was smart! The guest who ate the lasagna had three bites, then stopped. (Didn't take leftovers home) The guest who ordered the gnocchi finished about 40% of their dish. (Didn't take leftovers home) The guest who ordered the eggplant ate about 20% of their entree, took leftovers home, but not for them. The guest who ordered the Bronzino had two bites of the fish, two bites of the fried pesto risotto and ate all the veggies. The crimini (baby portabellas) mushrooms were entirely eaten, yet 80% of the broccolini wasn't touched. The crème brûlée was lacking the presence of real vanilla bean seeds and the multi-layer chocolate cake didn't stand a chance with my fork. The server raved about everything being made from scratch. Is it? I specifically inquired about the pasta and was assured it was made in house. Is this true? Suggestions: 1. Cut your portions down by 60% and improve the quality of the raw ingredients. Large, average tasting portions will not keep your business open. 2. Salt (or add more) to the pasta water and don't over cook the noodles. Are they in fact homemade? 3. Serve a smaller Bronzino with the head on. Educate the guest that this is the way it should be served. Don't dust with flour and pan fry/saute. Place on sizzle platter with slivers of garlic, copious amounts of excellent extra virgin olive oil, crushed sea salt, and fresh ground black pepper and some fresh herbs. I tasted a dirty Saute pan and poor quality oil. 4. The focaccia was outstanding! 5. My sugar addiction took over as I crushed the chocolate multi-layer cake. The extra raspberry coulis added additional pleasure. Again, a portion of substantially smaller size would have been appropriate with even better quality chocolate. 6. Smaller gingersnaps with the crème brûlée. They are all I really saw when the dessert came out as they covered the entire dish. Don't change the gingersnap recipe, just downsize them and perhaps consider serving them with all coffee drinks similar to that of a small biscotti. 7. Managers visiting the table was a nice touch, yet this time would be better invested in refining the new staff and educating them on how to provide outstanding guest service. I didn't appreciate being referred to as a "human garbage disposal" because I ate the whole chocolate cake. Again, I have a sugar problem and couldn't stop eating it. The server certainly was joking, but the comment killed the whole night...... Happy to provide additional assistance should you see fit. read more

Used to go there when it was the outdated Carrie Cerrinos. It still is outdated. Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for $23. Came with a sparse salad and over vinegary dressing. Waited 45 minutes for our meal. All four of us ordered the same meal. The sauce was so thick it was like it came out of a can of tomato paste. There was to too much of it as well. Not sure if it was leftover from the day before or they were left under the heating lights while the server got to them (45 minutes). The bread was good. Got the bill and we were charged $25 for each meal. Wasn't sure of the price of the meal, so as I walked by the desk I pulled out a menu and confirmed to the person there the mistake. She than took 15 minutes to correct it.She told us we would have to pay the new amount and then 24 hours later our charge account would be credited. At this point 15 minutes later I asked her to simply give my friend and I a $5 bill which she did with a huff. read more

Then they gave us bread one was as flavorless as wonder bread and the butter was hard it couldn't be spread. They served most appetizers with blue cheese even though it isn't mentioned on the menu and I'm allergic . Mkst of the from scratch food was bland . I got the veal Marsala and for $33 it was slightly better than Olive Garden . Then they told me there was an up charge for a Caesar salad but seems like a small upcharge was $12 which was almost half of my meal . $4 for a fountain soda and they tried to charge me for a refill . Premium price for subpar food . Then they didn't tell us tip was already added in hopes of additional tip . Place looks great ! I've been here several times and food was good! I had the eggplant parm and liked it but can see why some didn't. A more traditional recipe would probably be more well-received. The service was excellent. It still looks kind of old fashioned. A simple thing like white tablecloths would make a big difference. There were beige tablecloths and mauve napkins. Stopped by Via Roma for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and staff was attentive without being overbearing, which I always appreciate. I ordered the Spicy Vodka Gnocchi, and it was really solid -- felt like a lot of thought went into it. The pasta was fresh, and you could tell it wasn't your average out-of-the-box stuff.
