While the prices can be higher than other party stores in the area, the selection cannot be beat. Ode's Big Ten Party Store has the largest selection of package liquor and beer in the area. With the option of "make your own six pack," there is the ability to try new beers that otherwise I would not have tried. Especially since a full six pack gets 10% off; although, the prices are still a little high. The liquor selection is spectacular. They are usually close to or at floor pricing and the they've only been out of what I've wanted once. Most other stores don't even carry the stuff I want. This in-and-of-itself is the reason I continue to come back to Ode's.

They have a great wine and champagne selection as well as whisky selection. The beer selection is less diverse than other quality liquor stores but they still manage to have good options on hand. If they had more beer I'd give them a flat 5/5 I'd say as a liquor store Tom's edges out it's nearby competition "Dusty's Cellar" and draws even with "Vine & Brew". Thus why this is where I do my booze buying.

Their pre-cooked whole chickens are also very good. Another good thing we like is the friendliness of this smaller store which is not crowded and noisy. Those of us who are not interested in fighting the crowds in the larger stores appreciate this. Their meat counter is very nice also. It is the basics, but good quality for a good price. We greatly appreciate having this fine store in our neighborhood, and often shop there instead of the larger Kroger or Meijer stores. Smaller can be better in some ways.

At reasonable prices. With friendly staff. Not here for ice cream while all of my friends were ordering delicious varieties. No. No Death By Moose for me. Certainly not here to order a medium size vs. a small. I'm on a diet, I can barely even fit a spoonful, let alone a small. Just because my friends are getting mediums and larges doesn't mean I have to. At least I walked off a little of that medium Death By Moose, for a far more reasonable price than the ice cream back home in NJ. And with that, I can now dive into my review and why it's lacking the fifth star. Delicious homemade ice cream, but the texture here is a little smooshy. Many of their flavors have color added - I asked about the lemon and was told it's yellow. "Very bright yellow," she laughed. And I had to ask because they only have about 10 flavors on display, the rest are in "various" places. If I knew they were running out of the blueberry cheesecake, I could have asked for a small bite. Hard to know if I can't see it. That last point is the real thing I hope they can improve here. Get another display case and start showing more of your flavors. Especially the unique ones that make you special. Maybe not the shockingly bright lemon though.
