I think most of their merchandise isn't made locally (I've seen "Indaba" brand in Vancouver shops and online stores) so while most of their goods aren't unique, I still suggest looking at this store while you're in downtown Kelowna. It was immaculate, well laid out, displays exceptional and they would not let you in without us pressing the buzzer. We were met with a friendly hello by Dave Choy who proceeded to review everything we had and made an offer which we gladly accepted. We would not hesitate to tell anyone to visit them. European Goldsmith and Jewelry store in the Orchard Park Mall. I brought my pearl necklace and…read morebracelet to be re strung last summer. When I went to pick it up the circumference of the bracelet was 4 inches , my wrist is 6 and 1/2 inches.So I asked them to re string the bracelet. I paid them over $200.00 for their service. I went back to the store to pick up my pearls. I wore them for one day and they added a link on to both ends of the necklace, and onto the bracelet. The link started unraveling!! Yes I was getting upset about this, I brought the pearls back to the European Goldsmith. I brought them back in, and the lady put the unraveling " O" link under a microscope and she told me that the person who strung the pearls wrapped the O link with some string. I asked the lady why would they do that, what purpose would that serve? I asked her to take a picture for me, and she tried she replied, and the camera was not working! She said she will get the owner to deal with this matter promptly. I did not hear from the owners for a month, so I went into the store to pick up my pearls, and they had it in a drawer. Now they handed them to me, I was appalled to see that the "O" links were a yellow piece of some kind of non matching Yellow material!...I am sure that is the reason they wrapped the O rings in a matching gold string.... I talked to the owner's wife , and she was defensive. I asked if they can remove the added O links off my necklace and bracelet. She told me no that they are put on for strength. I asked why would they put on that colour, it looks like dollar store item. She replied that they do not have every colour of O rings in stalk! I replied back that I refuse to wear them that way, my pearls look cheap and fake, so I asked them to remove the O rings that they put onto my pearl necklace and bracelet. So I was very upset with her telling me they look good. I said I am leaving the pearls here, please take the O rings off, and be fair. I have not hear a message, a phone call, a email, from them in months!! I went into the store, they pulled out my pearls, exactly the way I left them there, I was upset! I asked them why did they not do anything with them? the lady told me they tried to get a hold of me , I asked her to call my number now, she dialed it, my phone rang. I said I never got one message , not one phonecall. So...She told me that if I want REAL GOLD O RINGS PUT ON, THEY WANT ANOTHER $300. plus dollars. I left my jewelry there and it will stay there until they correct thier mistakes, I am going to the hopefully stay patient. maybe they will rectify their professional reputation. Again - there are some treasures here but there are also overpriced Costco items, you've been warned. The store is laid out in a reasonable way, and there is enough room to move around comfortably. I find the displays have the appropriate amount on them so I don't get overwhelmed. They are relatively strict about the consignments they'll accept, so most of the items are in good if not great condition. I like the sliding price, each items price is reduced after a month or so and then again a few weeks later - all of that info is on one price tag. Mostly friendly, helpful staff. Kudos to them for supporting local women through the Cinderella Program.
