ISSA is AI driven, virtual office in Phoenix, canned duplicate replies without any consideration for their certified trainers. My wife is a ISSA certified trainer who cannot reach a live person! She has been trying since May 2026 and here it is July 9, 2026 today. They do not care about their clients. They claim to be helpful with providing you care and help, this is not true. I would give them a minus rating if Yelp offered it. You can see by all of the other reviews how terrible this ISSA is. Doing internet research ISSA was sold in 2019 and again in 2021. DOWNSIZING in action, a company with little value. Check their status with the Better Business Bureau reviews, worse than Yelp! I just was recruited by ISSA a few days ago having been told that I would receive a refund of what I have paid, as long as it was within 7 days. I had a bad feeling talking to the recruiter and after I told him what I wanted, I could tell that his interest dropped in me from near the beginning, as if I wouldn't be the right fit, which did not make sense to me, but the negative energy was there. This man still proceeded and I ended up with a program he said I would be capable of, but not what I wanted,if he had asked me what I had wanted. Having been misled though, if I had gotten what I wanted, the cancellation fee I was never informed about would have been even higher. So I am being charged over $100 over a phone call, where I should have just hung up on him. I with confidence will make it very clear, they do not have recruiters who are genuine about getting you where you want to be, they are looking to get their own money and do not care about you, so I recommend not signing up to any school over the phone and always look up if there is a cancellation fee. Just because they claim you will be refunded, does not mean you will, because you will not. read more

This company called my husband and coerced him into an agreement with them for personal training classes. Initially my husband attempted to reach out to no avail to commence the program and the woman he spoke to did not know the proper instructions to give him. They are saying this was in February, now we are in October and they just took $199 off his card and are saying he owes them close to $1300 more, not to mention oh the class has expired. They have a good scam going here, especially because they won't let you off the phone talking about some verbal signature, which not to mention he never gave. At first online education seemed very convenient and flexible compared to traditional education. Issa is the definition of why you shouldn't do online education. The nutritionist course that I took as well as the mandatory CPR course that would save a practice dummy's life are a waste of time and money. The information provided for the course is basically general knowledge that can be obtained through the internet for free and since you can't actually make meal plans or recommendations only make referrals to those who are actually certified as dieticians you are no better then that friend keeps telling you to eat healthy. The job placement guarantee is only for the United States so if you are in Canada forget about actually using this to further your career and even if you are in the US get ready to passed over by someone who went to a real school. The online system always seems to have bugs and glitches with "program" which features simple multiple choice questions that are even posted on the internet. Just goes to show how illegitimate this company truly is and basically is just a money grab and will only result in you getting laughed at by fitness companies that have any sense. I have to say I paid so much money for 2 or 3 trainings and they only give you a certain time frame but you have to get the package to get the so called deal and when time runs out you have to pay more money to be about to complete the course. It was nearly impossible for me to do all 2 or 3 courses when I'm a Single mother of 4 with 1 who was leaving home for school working 2 full time jobs, finding ways to get my children to and from school to sports and doing the courses. Then they have reps call you to offer you more courses. When I stated how unhappy I was due to the first round I got what can I do to make it better. I said give me my money back or let me finish my course since I did pay for it. And all I got I'm sorry but we can't do that. read more

I've been in the fitness industry for years and all I need is an updated trainer certification, which is too EXPENSIVE if you ask me just to take a test. I have several employers waiting on this specific piece of info but it's taking years to obtain. It's almost if ISSA doesn't want you to find a job or work at all. Trying to receive your PT certificate, even virtually, is almost impossible. I finished my standard personal training exam more than two weeks ago and haven't received a phone call, email etc, concerning my completion and access to certificate. For weeks I've reached out to ISSA in every form of communication possible. Days after days, hours upon hours waiting for support on the phone. No one should have to wait in their so called "line" for more than two hours to speak to a human being for a few minutes. VERY FRUSTRATING! I wish the urgency and care they have for you to sign up and purchase a bundle was the same as it is after they receive your billing information. read more

I signed up for a 7 day so called free trial. I canceled in that 7 day window and never went back into the account. Two months later money was taken from my account. I called student services to let them know and asked why I was being billed when I canceled. They deny my conversation and acknowledging that I canceled. I tried speaking with management and I got nothing but a run around. One year later with no resolution and I paid well over $1000.00 for a course I didn't take and I won't take. I paid it only because this company is shady and I didn't want them to send me to collections to ruin my impeccable credit score history. I never want to hear from this company again. read more

Got a call from the sales department asking me about enrollment and when I told the rep I had decided on NASM because it was cheaper they asked me "how?". It literally is less money, I expressed to the rep and he pressed asking how much less- by this time I was already bothered by how much he pressed into MY decision. The sales rep proceeded to tell me that NASM has 50 bad Yelp reviews (spanning back to 2017, maybe further so essentially a few negative reviews a year relative to the number that sign up per year seeing it is one of the #1 courses) and said he was trying to help me make the most informed decision even though I already told the rep I DID make a decision at the very beginning of our phone call and provided the additional detail that I had taken a course with NASM before. I mentioned to the rep that it IS unnecessary to bring up their yelp reviews just for his sales tactics especially when again, I have already made a decision. If you work for a solid company the value you, the company and courses provide should speak for themselves and be sales points on their own! Well, the rep continued to try and argue with me to the point that I just hung up. Why would I want to work with a company that has to try and get a leg up by putting another company down, mind you a largely known, highly accredited company/course. read more

If I could put ZERO stars I would. Please do not waste your time with this company. There are plenty better certifications programs with better customer service and return policies. I wish I would have done more research on this company. They do not care about their customers, do not let them fool you. You are simply a number to them. They give you 7 days to return and after that NO MATTER WHAT you are obligated to stay in their program. So unless you want to be short over $2000 because circumstances have changed choose a different program. I never used their program and they can see that by looking at my "progress" on my account. I never asked them for a refund, just that I cancel from here and on and they refuse to do so. You can get a better outcome from a different program and with peace of mind that if something changes you will not be forced to stay in the program! read more
