Guuuuuysssss!! I have mixed feelings writing this review because it is such a hidden TREASURE I dont want to share but I MUST share. This place is AMAZING!! I moved from out of state to teach in the Phoenix area. My first year was a struggle, my lesson lacked greater substance due to cost of supplies and my title one kiddos didn't have all their basic needs. Summer 2018 I had enough and walked into Treasures not knowing what I was getting into. *cue the heavenly music* Top to bottom, 360 degrees or fabulous love. On my first visit, as the sales pitch suggest, you get your membership worth of supplies right back. $35/year UNLIMITED binders, endless giveaways and not to mention you can find many options to spark creativity and organization in your own home. The workers and so helpful and genuinely are thankful for teachers. Play your nice cards right and they'll pull exclusive items from the back of gladly restock anything in the $1and $5 fill up sections. Speaking of which. . Don't sleep on these. Selections change daily. Sometimes even my the minute! $1 section gems: EXPO MARKERS & SHARPIES. Child scissors, premium pens (brand new), erasers, highlighters, stamps, ink pads, glue sticks, spinners, pencils, batteries, stickers, and so much more! $5 section gems: CARDSTOCK, sanitary napkins (great to donate), seasonal cards, paint, crayons, post-its, tennis balls, ice packs, yarn (and other arts and craft supplies), borders, office furniture/organization, BOOKS, etc. . Other items are reasonably marked for individual pricings. Some big finds were NEW SKATEBOARDS, shredder, large poster boards, board games, whiteboards, office chairs and desks, new various supplies. Giveaways: (FREE to members) paper goods (copy paper, toilet paper, paper towels, toilet seat covers), Staples bags (office supplies), Joann's bags (craft supplies/seasonal), Joann large items (paintings, pillows, seasonal decor), cleaning supplies (large liquid cleaners, soap/sanitizer dispensers etc), make-up pallets, post-it popup dispenser, gift cards, stors credit etc. This change often and as of now every Friday is "Freebie Fridays". Pop in and you never know what you'll get a check out. Overall, if you're STILL doubting yourself, don't. Just go and let you mind be blown! I have successfully introduced five colleagues and my husband to the greatness. Side note: the thrift store next door is a must as well.

The only teacher store I will shop at. I love that I can get board games, Velcro, glue dots, Binder clips, and file folders for practically nothing with the $5 and $1 fill a bag. I also really appreciate the free binders and magazines. This store def. makes the life of a special education teacher a LOT MORE affordable- and that doesn't even include the wonderful extra donation bags you walk away with every time you shop! Other items my students and I love are the random toys an (make great treasure box items) and the postcards (make great positive notes home).

It was time to purge my craft closet. Getting there was easy and it was a quick & efficient drop off of the donations I gathered.

Today we are focusing on specific overseas underserved villages and dietary needs of the children. Parking 5/5 Abundance of private parking Facilities 5/5 Very impressive building, large well suited for Feeding My Starving Children's mission. Teams which can be families, business teams etc may sigh-up in advance to be scheduled to participate in a meaningful and needed service for fighting hunger. Our day began in their Large group welcome and information room. Run by a great orator of their organization we learned what we were going to do and who would be receiving the product of our labor. Very nicely done! Surrounding this great room was the organizations special store. Items available for purchase were made in many of the countries they serve. Packing room 5/5 After dawning head and facial hair nets and gloves we were organized in sub team groups to a specific job. Activities/Effort 5:/5 in the progressive line from bulk dry food products to measuring, funnel dumping into bags to scale to add or remove product to meet bag weight requirements the to a sealing operation and final case building and taping. Teamwork 5:5 There must have been 8-10 teams with ~14 a team in a fun and motivational competition to maximize the Total food each two hour shift could produce. I enjoyed how our team with some ASU students developed teamwork that was flexible. Event take-away 10/5 Facts about food shortages and malnutrition are real. Child development is impacted both physically and psychologically. There are nations like ours who have organizations like Feed My Starving Children who have the networks, logistics, raw food based sources that utilize nutritional targets with environmentally stable ingredients. What we were shown today is the manual labor needed to meet the output requirements to feed those in need can be accomplished by organizing people of all colors, creeds and religions come together to serve a common goal, Feeding Starving Children. Everyone can benefit from moving out of your comfort zone by sacrificing 2-4 hrs to serve others, and to send a fundamental message to those around the world of Hope and Love through food. And in the process lean how you can work well with others from a wide spectrum of society for a higher cause. Get your families, work colleagues neighbors etc together and have fun helping! Be humble and gracious to others my friends-SYOY!

Only thing I suggest is maybe don't have a quiet person in the warehouse explaining how to do things without a mic- could barely hear her over the chatter of other groups and just static of the air. The introduction went smooth, warehouse is my favorite!!! Lots of moving around, heavy lifting, and quick thinking. This is a great organization to be part of if you want to volunteer, especially for a Christian business! They offer anyone who wants, to pray over the food boxes at the end of your shift (optional) they also have a "gift shop" which is all around you as you come in, so you can purchase goods made in other countries and know the labor is being fairly paid for! Everything priced well! 29¢ is what it takes to make one meal for a child, so every donation is significant, no matter how small! They're based off donations and don't take any assistance from the government, so any type of support you can give them is appreciated ! Attached is a picture of our ending numbers

I googled Bird Sanctuary near me and Liberty Wildlife Rehab popped up. Luckily they were open until 6, so we were able to make it over there. We took our little baby birdie to the rescue window. The kindest lady came and placed him in a little box and then took him back to a baby bird nursery room. She came back and she was just so sweet and I knew the little bird would be just fine with these people. In the area behind here she had huge rescued birds behind her. 3 were vultures. And 3 other huge birds were there too just hanging out on there perches. No cages just chilling. And then a goat came up outside the window, to peek in and say hello. Just a wonderful place, where I am going to be donating to monthly so they can keep up their good work and continue to keep there Rescue Intake Window open!! Please visit their website and Pop by to visit the amazing grounds and bring your kids. It is truly beautiful.
