HHA is a good practice, and I think they do an overall great job. One thing I really like is that their records are computerized and when I walk out, I have a printed order I can read instead of a hand-written order that I can't make sense of. The nurses are pleasant and do a great job listening as you explain why you're there. Even the wait isn't usually bad - my last doctor you could wait 1-1.5 hours after your appointment time to see the doctor - here, it's usually less than 15 minutes if they are running behind. My only real issue has been the office staff. The response is short sometimes and follow-through can be a little slow if you're trying to get ahold of your doctor by phone. It's not a big deal, but it can be really inconvenient. Net result, I highly recommend the practice and encourage you to check them out.

I contacted the nurse for my physician to prescribe an antibiotic to treat a mild skin condition I have gotten since I was an infant. The office called and said the doctor wanted to see me. I explained that my husband was in the hospital (in Cincinnati) following a total knee replacement and he was to be discharged the day they wanted me to visit and that going to the office would not be possible. She (the nurse) insisted I had to come in and be seen and they could not understand that it was impossible for me to go. I reminded them I had experienced this since I was an infant and that they had a medical history of it (I had been seen before at the practice for it), but they said it was against policy. The nurse was rude ("the doctor is my boss!", "I could get fired!") and even suggested I go to urgent care (if I could not leave my husband to go to the doctor's office, how could I go to urgent care?). They did not take into consideration personal circumstances, including also having to manage being home and taking care of our 7 year old daughter. I work in a heavily regulated industry (clinical research) and fully understand policies, procedures and regulations, but I also understand when common sense must prevail. They did not use any common sense. To make sure I was not emotionally reacting, I discussed this with nurses at the hospital (during my husband's stay) and with my gynecologist and they could not understand the necessity of an office visit. It is because of this incident and the rude office staff that I am moving to another practice.

The wait time was about 5…read moreminutes and the reception area was spacious enough so that I wasn't wedged between two sick people. Dr. Kavinsky greeted me like an old friend and listened attentively while I described my symptoms. She asked many follow up questions and gave me a thorough physical. We also discussed treatments, side effects and pricing options before she wrote a prescription. I felt like I was involved in the diagnosis process instead of just another body on the exam table. I am glad to say that I had a positive experience with Dr. Kavinsky and will be returning to her for any future ailments.

I liked Dr. G. with my first and only visit so much that I was willing to drive some distance to…read moresee her. However, today I had an issue that I think was created by poor communication between Dr. G and her office staff. I had labs ordered prior to the pandemic. I really wanted to get my labs done, but there was significant hesitancy on my part due to the pandemic. I am a nurse who works from home. I took the precautions very seriously. I did not get the labs because I did not think the benefits outweighed the risks during the pandemic. I am finally vaccinated and decided to go on the day I had carved out for an office visit with Dr. G. I called Dr. G.'s office to cancel the appointment, so I could get the labs first. I had cancelled a couple of appointments during the pandemic because though I felt I needed to be seen, I just could not justify going to the doctor's office without being vaccinated. Today, I was cancelling because I wanted to get the lab work first and am now vaccinated. I have not been feeling well and want to see if the labs could offer some explanation. It made sense to me to get the labs first. When cancelling and making my appointment, I specifically asked the office staff about the labs still being active/good. As a nurse, which I am, I thought after a year, lab orders typically expire. The office staff said the labs were still in the computer and were still good. I was skeptical but when I inquired further, the office staff member said that I could go to any Tri Health Lab and the lab orders were still active. Foolishly, I went. The labs were actually expired. It resulted in a hassle for the outpatient lab and it was embarrassing to me. The doctor was called and she asked to talk to me. The entire waiting area and staff at the outpatient lab heard a lecture from Dr. G about how I had cancelled my appointment and declined to reschedule my appointment. Which was inaccurate. I pointed out to Dr. G. that I had explained to the office staff that I would need to call back to reschedule-I have a very complicated heavy, national call schedule with hospitals, and that is what I told the office staff. I had NOT declined. I did not get the chance to explain that I had not wanted to go into her office nor get labs unvaccinated during a pandemic, I did not get the chance to say that the entire group of staff and people waiting for labs could hear her lecture me, which actually seemed like a HIPPA violation, and as a nurse, I did not like that someone was insinuating that I was irresponsible with my health when I had been so responsible to avoid every unneeded appointment and outing during the pandemic in order to protect my health and the health of my family. I AM A NURSE. Dr. G ended the conversation by saying that I should follow up with her. Well, I did get the labs, but found out that they should have been fasting, and I had eaten. So, how reliable are these results going to be? I can only wonder if the office staff had talked to Dr. G. about the labs when I originally inquired about them, perhaps she would have reordered them AND I would have received appropriate guidance about fasting-I am a maternity nurse-it did not occur to me until later that they were supposed to be fasting labs. Anyway, it was a waste of my time and money in the long run. Now, I am hesitant to follow up with Dr. G. not because of the pandemic, but because of how this whole situation went down AND the labs are worthless. It was a typical medical experience that I heard so many of my patients complain about in the past, unfortunately! Not sure how this will play out, ultimately. I may have to find a new provider and not sure the insurance company will allow me to redo the botched lab work :(

I get great care, he has helped educate me on issues that my former doctor never even took the time to test me for and I feel like I am living the healthiest lifestyle I have lived in my nearly 55 years on year. I would highly recommend this practice. PS - A huge PLUS - they scheduled appropriate amounts of time for each appointment. I have never had to wait in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes before going back to see the doc. I LOVE that they have respect for my time and that when I arrive on time for my appointment I know I will be seen in a very timely manner.

My sons appointment was at 4pm today. After waiting in the waiting room for 45 mins I get called…read moreback (mind you he is 6 months old and I had to hold him the entire time and he didn't like it) after I got back into the room we did the usual with the nurse. We were waiting for what seemed like forever until I went outside our room to find his doctor sitting there talking to another doctor cutting up and said she'd be in in a minute. Which turned out to be 15 minutes. We were not seen by his actual doctor until 5:40. After she finally came into the room she was very rude to me about the questions I had and half of them were left unanswered. We were her last appointment and she rushed out of the room for the nurses to come in and give him his shots. We were hardly with her for 15 mins. This was the second appointment we have had with her and honestly I'm not sure we will even go back. We were there for a total for 2 hours just for a routine check up. The nurses and girls at the front desk were great, the doctor Rebecca Koehl was not. Very unhappy.
