I happen to be in New Bern and decided to run by the Batteries Plus there and get the battery replaced. I also had another new watch that I needed to get a lifetime battery for as well so I had the tech in New Bern replace both batteries. After the weekend the water got into the one watch behind the Crystal so I took it into the Morehead city office. And Chris graciously took the watch apart kept it overnight, dried it out and then resealed the watch properly. She said that the watch was only hand tightened and barely attached. Also, the battery for the lifetime marking was not marked, even though they have it on the records, it still wasn't marked so if I had to have a battery replaced out of this area, they wouldn't have a record of it. So I suggested I bring the other watch in the newer watch and have her check it, and of course, the back was not tightened, and the battery also was not marked and she sealed the watch and mark the battery for me. Can't say enough about how great Chris has been to help me with this situation to avoid a moisture invasion into a brand new watch thank you, Cris.

I've always added the 2- or 3-year protection plans because they provided peace of mind, even if I rarely had to use them. During my last purchase at the Morehead City location, a staff member told me he was "upgrading" my protection plan to some sort of total protection package. I clearly stated I didn't care what it was called -- I just wanted two years of protection, like I always get. I even complimented Best Buy on their protection plans at the time. Fast forward 18 months: I experience a minor screen issue after some rubbing alcohol spilled on the top of the laptop, causing screen glare. I brought it in thinking the 2-year plan I paid $179.99 for would cover it -- only to be told my "warranty" had been canceled. Apparently, what I had wasn't a protection plan but a membership -- something I was never told clearly. That membership had expired, and they refused to honor the protection I believed I had paid for. When I questioned it, the staff seemed dismissive and evasive. It felt less like a misunderstanding and more like dishonesty. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. After spending thousands of dollars with Best Buy, I expected better. The lack of transparency and accountability here borders on fraud, and the customer service at this location was appalling. Unless something changes, I don't see myself shopping at this Best Buy again -- or possibly any Best Buy.

They were having some battery test er issues so I ended up going to O'Reilly. Walked in and was greeted by Jonathan. Told him my story and he immediately pulled out his battery tester and checked my battery. After he explained all the batteries they had for my car, I decided to buy a new. Ordinarily, I would change my own battery but I had just had shoulder surgery and was in a sling. I had to swallow my pride and ask for help installing my battery, Jonathan kept telling me not to worry about it, that they install new batteries. All I could think about while Jonathan was sweating and installing my battery was the memes saying something about, if you need to have someone replace your wipers or battery, you need to turn in your man card. I highly recommend O'Reilly for batteries. Their prices were competitive and even a bit cheaper than their local competitors.

He did say that they would;d "give" me a new one but the order would not go in until next week. I did say that it was unacceptable. Then he came back and said that they would have one shipped in for me either tomorrow or Saturday. Okay with that. When I checked on the battery that was installed I found out that it was a second market battery. With that battery I could not see the % capacity. I had then put the old battery back in., When I went to turn it on it would not and was told that the battery was dead. Couldn't because I came in with 88%. After looking and talking with other places I was informed that the screen was also going to be a second market one. So to put things in a nut shell Batteries Plus was selling me a second market battery (without telling me) and "giving" me a second market screen. Apple will not work on phone with second market parts. I went in with an entire Apple phone and going out with a second rate phone. Aside from that the "tech"kept saying he was "giving" me a new screen. Replacing yes, giving no. In a nutshell do not, I repeat do not go there. The other store may be okay but this one is not. They should offer either financial compensation or a new phone with all Apple parts.
