Extremely frustrated with how this office handles scheduling. They canceled my appointment just two hours before, claiming a tech had sprained her ankle over the weekend and only three people would be in the office. I fail to understand why that means my appointment with the doctor had to be canceled entirely. Last-minute cancellations like this are unprofessional and show a lack of consideration for patients' time and planning. read more

It is so hard getting appointments at eye doctors. The last place changed mine and didn't tell me...next one was 9 months later. I called Dr. Reed's office and saw them in a week. He has been nothing but great helping me and giving the time needed. There are waits in so many places, by months, and the waiting for being seen has been tough but considering the how hard it is to get appointments, this has been a good place. And I do like Dr. Reed. they have not had a doctor/optometrist for months now. The turn over rate for doctor and staff is high. Been coming here for over 10 years. It's a tele health visit now when you get to the office. The corporation can't or won't hire an optometrist. Last several years the prescription has been too strong but the staff does make adjustments. " Well it's a new prescription you are not used to it. Wait awhile and your eyes will adjust." I say, But I can't drive with the new glasses." Eventually the "gate keeper" staff relented and asked the optometrist, when they actually had an optometrist, to adjust or the staff would have me come in for another exam. So i don't know if i will go back. Other people must have good experiences. So it's a corporate problem. read more

This review has nothing to do with the doctors. It has to do the office policy. Poor communication. I made an appointment in July for August on the phone with a very nice young man. (was he in the actual office or at a call station- I don't know) Well, I had to cancel, so I left a voicemail to please cancel. I left the time, date and my name. This was Aug 9. Three days later I received either a text or email to remind me of my appt. Aug 13th I received two emails to remind me of my appointment. I ignored them figuring these crossed in the time zone. On Aug 19th I received a text reminder. On Aug 20 I received an email reminder again. So I called the office and she said when I told her I had left a message. "Oh, those go to a email and there are like a 1000 of them so we don't see them". WTH this is how you run a business? I had trouble with my regular eye doctor because of all this automatic way of doing things and that is why I made this appt. But I guess, the lack of personalization is gone in today's world. i went in for my appointment at 4:00 and was not seen until 5:00. I figured maybe they were behind and had a lot of patience but I was wrong. Two other people were in the doctors office and the workers were laughing and joking around for 20 MINUTES! Finally when we go back to the room and see the "doctor" (which is on a computer screen) the workers kept joking around and going in and out of rooms laughing and joking, also the lady that was in the room with us stayed on her phone practically the entire time. her appointment was at 4:00 and we did leave until 6:00. I injured my eye and my regular eye doctor would not see me for 24 hours. A friend recommended Myeyedoctor and they fit me in within 3 hours! Office staff was friendly, helpful and empathetic. The doctor was competent, thorough, answered my questions and was very nice. I will officially transfer my 13 years of eye records from Swansboro to Myeyedoctor tomorrow. read more

The staff is lazy and seems to be bothered by customers. The doctor wrote the wrong prescription. Not only ONCE --- BUT TWICE! When I wore my "new glasses" I had triple vision. When my SECOND PRESCRIPTION was rewritten- I had DOUBLE VISION! I called for over one week to schedule a new appointment, but come to find out, this particular location does not have a doctor! Yes, you read that correctly. They are borrowing doctors from several different locations. I'm trying to get yet ANOTHER appointment with a doctor at their center, but like I said before, they do not have a permanent doctor on-site. Its like eating broken glass trying to get them to do their job! I can't drive with these hobo incorrect malfunctioning glasses. You are probably thinking, just make an appointment with a real doctor in Morehead City and move on. I have- but its not until January 2021. Ugh- I've left several messages at the Cape Carteret, NC location, but have not received a call back. Trust me, at this point I'm so frustrated and I'm out a ton of money too. I called a number listed on Google for their corporate number, and a female named Hellen answered the phone. I asked her if I was calling the corporate office number and she said no. I told her I needed to file a complaint and Hellen (from the Vienna, VA office) said nothing. I thought for a second she hung up but after I said her name a few times she let me know she was still alive and on the phone. So far, so good. Until- she asked me my date of birth! WHAT?! Are you kidding me? I asked Hellen if she worked in the HR department. She said no. I told her that she, nor anybody else needs my birth date to file a complaint. Hellen said it was their policy to get the complainants Date of Birth. No you don't need that information! At this point I'm OUT! There is no need to do business with these incompetent morons. read more

I took my 80yr old handicapped mother in for an eye exam which was the worst experience in a doctor/eye doctors establishment ever. They are not prepared for anyone handicapped. My mom was brought into an "office" the size of a closet which had about a 2 ft wide space of cleared walking area, my mom can not stand for longer than a couple of minutes and the eye dr assistant requested that she stand to read the eye chart, my mom stressed that couldn't stand any longer and the assistant said its only another minute. When my mom was able to sit we didn't have the ability to move her walker out of the way so i had to assist her with lifting the walker over the desk in order to get it turned around so my mom could use it to get out of the office. I couldn't imagine what trauma would have been involved if a wheel chair had to be maneuvered in there. If all that wasn't bad enough, the place was very cold, when my mother mentioned it to the assistant she laughed and said that all of the office members complain about how cold it is but she has control over the thermostat because its right behind where she sits and since she is going through menopause the rest of the office can suffer along with her. I looked behind her on the wall and noticed the temperature was 67 degrees. The actual appointment with the optometrist went well and wasn't a bad experience. The woman that assisted with picking out glasses lacked personality, but that could be because she was sitting there in a winter puff coat and was freezing. Needless to say we opted out of purchasing glasses there and will take the prescription elsewhere. read more

This is our third year with MyeyeDr. My husband and I are very pleased. We changed coverage for vision insurance this enrollment season because the pair received last year were Deréon's, but not well made. My previous glasses were great though, and it was not the companies fault since it is what my insurance would cover. With the vision insurance I have now I am receiving a better quality frame and lenses. read more

First visit feedback. The Dr. and staff were very thorough, attentive, and honest. They answered all of my questions and concerns. Also purchased eyeglasses through their office. They glasses were very pricey but part of that was my failure to ask for lens options and be proactive about the details. The Varilux/Crizal combo is indeed far superior to anything else I've worn. However, Varilux offers three different lenses and the prices of those lenses varies greatly. Something to be aware of and ask about going in. The manager was very helpful with discounts and a rebate after my sticker shock. Great turn around time for delivery. Recommend. read more

I was on vacation and had forgotten my contacts at home. The wonderful staff at My Eye Dr was able to get my prescription and get me a pair of contacts to get me through my week. They were awesome! Much more friendly and accommodating than my own optical place! read more

Age old low ball. I was told one price of $125 by two different individuals, but they then added on an addition contact lens examination charge which they had not informed me about, even though I stated specifically that my wife was coming in for contact lenses. read more

Great place for Eye exams and glasses. They were courteous, professional and attentive. Since this was the first time I had to have glasses, they took extra time with me to select frames that complimented my facial features and shopped around for the most cost effective plan for my sunglasses as well. read more
