From scheduling the appointment to the next-day service they checked all the right boxes. I especially appreciated the person I talked to when I confirmed the appointment. She went above and beyond expectations in listening to what was needed and effectively communicating their process ... and she did so with a "smile" in her voice. I never have written a review before, but this company is DISHONEST! Our water heater was coming up with error code "65".. we had Intown Plumbing come out to check things out. After an hour of them being here, they charged us $250 and told us they were here "longer than expected" doing "diagnostics", which was initially 86$. After not hearing from them regarding turn-around time and an expected install/part cost, I called their customer service. I was told most likely Monday, OR I could pay overtime hours. I asked how much it would be for the part and labor no overtime.. they wanted to charge an ADDITIONAL 500$ just for labor (250/hr), and the 250$ we already paid is not credited. I asked if the plumbers hourly is 250$ and she refused to tell me their hourly price, and said it depends on how the job goes. After feeling like 750$ in just "LABOR" including their intitial visit, was way too high, I called a local plumber reccomended by a family friend. He immediately told me how to double-check the error code, where to find the serial #/model# and had me call Rheem customer service for the part. We overnighted the part, new plumber comes on the weekend and didn't charge me 250$ to push two buttons on a screen for a "diagnostic", and told me his honest rate and total for the job, no open ends. Intown Plumbing is not only price gouging for 86$ to get a code on a screen by pushing two buttons, and 160$ for "being there longer" while pushing the two buttons, and $500 for labor- but they're SLOW as heck...they were here Wednesday and said unless I pay more than $250/hr that they can't come before Monday. I knew I should have trusted my gut, dishonesty is a deal breaker nonetheless price gouging. I can't believe this is my first yelp review.. companies can set their own prices as high as they want, that's none of my business, but the complete dishonesty is criminal. read more

Do you think it is reasonable to charge $625 to ATTEMPT to repair a toilet - but fail? And to quote and extra $400 to come back to complete repairs? I certainly don't. The owner agreed to reduce the initial cost down to $400 but basically said that the repair challenges were my fault for buying a brand of toilet that he didn't like. I started with a toilet that had a very minor leak (about 1/2 a cup of clean water beside the toilet). When the call was finished, I had a non-functioning, disassembled toilet, and no idea when and if it would be fixed. I was told that it was my fault (1) for buying a brand of toilet that they didn't like, and (2) because I had agreed to pay $250/hr for their services, irrespective of how long it took to do the repair. For the record, I did not. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! There rates are ridiculous, their ability to fix a problem is questionable, and their customer service leaves much to be desired. read more

My hot water was not working in my bathtub, so they told me I needed to replace my heater. They replaced the heater for $2k, but my hot water was still not working. They came back out and said the only thing left to do was rip up the entire bathroom to "see the inner workings". They estimated this at $20,000. I called in a second opinion. Second opinion simply flushed the line and that fixed the hot water in the bath tub. It took him less than 5 minutes. He also said it was the simplest most basic troubleshooting thing to do. But Intown Plumbing wanted to create a $20k, multi-week job out of it. Furthermore, the second plumber told me that the piping was not installed properly such that the new water heater (which is my second water heater) wasn't even doing anything. So who knows if the new second water heater was even necessary to get hot water in the bathtub in the first place. In services like plumbing where the client must trust the service provider to provide fair and accurate work, reputation/trust is everything. I have no trust in Intown Plumbing. I felt like my plumber was either incompetent, trying to scam me, or both. I do not recommend Intown Plumbing. read more

So far Intown Plumbing has created a nightmare in what could be a lovely remodel. The bathtub has been full of the same water for a month. The laundry room plumbing isn't complete and created a moldy mess in the wall. The kitchen disposal is installed backwards. The dishwasher has been full of water for a week. The hot water heater hasn't been properly installed. this has been going on since before July. I can't imagine operating with such a lack of concern & respect for clients or self respect. read more

Very knowledgeable about repairing our gas line with a reasonable price. When they completed that part of the job the trench in our backyard had to be filled back in. And the sprinkler system also had to be restored working order. Before they filled in the trench, they ensured us that the sprinkler system was back in working order. The trench was filled in, and it was a mound of dirt from the back of the house to the alley which I had to flatten, and that is not an easy task. The sprinkler system does not work as they had told us, and the repair for that will cost as much as the job they did! read more

Very solid with very competitive pricing. Did a very diverse job for me including running gas to the kitchen, installing larger hot water heater, new kitchen appliances and sink, and installed hardware in a double shower and double vanity. They did mis-install the new diverter valves in the double shower and then blamed the designer for giving them wrong direction. As a result, they had to cut two big holes out of my newly finished and painted walls to get them straightened out. I would have given them 5 stars had they taken responsibility for this instead of saying someone, who is not a plumber, told them to do it the wrong way and they followed those instructions. They were also reasonably responsive from a scheduling standpoint, which is difficult these days with contractors being so busy. read more
