The room had the most horrific smell. Like perfume musk. Luckily, the window opened and after a few hours it began to disappate but by morning after closing the windows at night the smell was back. The second day the smell was still strong and opening the windows only helped so much. I needed to stay a couple extra nights but checked out and stayed somewhere else due to the smell. The room was also hot and the air conditioning didn't seem to function properly all the time. The hotel wasn't particularly clean. There was a weird film all over everything. The mirrors in the room had steaks on them as if someone wiped them down, but not sure with what because they just looked dirty. The dishwasher had splatter stains on the front and it just felt generally unclean. For the most part the hotel was quiet, but my room was right across from the elevator so there was that to contend with. On the plus side, the room was spacious, the TV and remote worked, the fridge was clean, and the shower water was hot. I won't return here because of the odor. But if weird smells don't bother you, go for it.

The modern design is sleek and functional. The new carpet, furniture, and overall decor in the sleeping rooms are very upscale. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful room features, like the refrigerator with a separate freezer, a microwave, and plenty of charging options for devices. I often travel with multiple devices, and having so many accessible charging ports was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom was excellent--upscale and clean--and the bed was firm, which is exactly how I prefer it. The lighting in the room, especially the backlighting behind the TV, added a touch of sophistication to the space. The only thing that stood out as a minor issue was the new wallpaper. While it looks gorgeous, you can see some residue from the installation, which takes away slightly from the otherwise flawless renovation. Also, the elevators appear to have been left out of the updates--hopefully, they're next on the list! Lawana at the front desk provided exceptional service during check-in. Despite being busy with several guests waiting, she was calm, professional, and attentive, making the process seamless. She is an excellent representation of the kind of customer service Marriott is known for. I was greeted by a very friendly and professional front desk employee. My check in was quick and efficient. My room was spacious, clean and so, so quiet. I did not hear other guests at all and was able to relax, wind down and refresh. The full kitchen that comes fully equipped was so great to have - I love that I was able to spend my day reading, eating, snacking (I brought groceries) and did not need to leave my room. Because there was a small eating area, a loveseat and table, a desk and another armchair by the window, there were plenty of spaces to relax in and not feel closed in. The bed, a king, was super comfy and I slept through the night when I retired. I had a walk in shower that had a pull down bench and a handheld nozzle. Perfect! Breakfast was also surprisingly very good and the coffee was strong. Every staff member I came across was friendly, saying a pleasant "Hello" or gave me a smile. I enjoyed my stay so much that I plan on returning to this hotel. We asked for bedding for the pullout and were given what they had, which was oversized. We were not offered pillows. There was no housekeeping service due to their COVID protocols, yet we were charged a full rate. I asked for towels and was informed they didn't have any available at the time and to come back. The front desk clerk was incredibly nice but that's not how you run a hotel. When I asked what to do with our old towels I was told to leave them in the hallway. The hallway was filled with towels and bags of trash. It was like being on a cruise ship when something bad happens and it's about to turn to anarchy. The windows had broken seals and sweated moisture. The room smelled. We were here for a soccer tournament and everything reeked. Friends of ours who were staying here too had clothes left in the drawers from a previous guest. It was disgusting and I will never stay here again.
