Bangus Sisig, sizzling plate
Shabbir S.

If you like to have fresh fish, Philippines' style, definitely it will meet your craving. Nice restaurant, live music, karaoke in the weekends. We went to have dinner on a week-night, had Bangus Sisig from sizzling plates (chopped fish with lots of onions and herbs), and Daing na Bangus (deep fried whole fish, bones removed). Serving style and food quality met our expectations. Service is also good. Parking is convenient in the plaza's parking lot.

Came here because they were one of the few places that still served my craving for Halo Halo later at night, but definitely going to have to return during the day and try their food. Smelled delicious in here and on Thursdays they have karaoke! Which this week we were serenaded by some very talented folks. So definitely enjoyed that a lot.

Love the food!! Always fresh, tasty and in a generous portion size. This is now my go to place for Filipino dishes.

I enjoyed the sisig here on previous visits, but now they're greedy with a $2.00 entrance charge on Thursday and Friday. I guess I'm not going back Thursday or Friday, if ever. Instead of a minimum purchase charge now they act as if there's some well known person who sings there. It's just karaoke night. Too loud to enjoy the food anyway. The platter is not too tasty. The fish has a foul after taste. The squid is chewy. The bbq stick is short. I did however enjoy the sisig. The place would be better if they just let you eat and drink in peace, without charging you to go inside like some club.

I went here to celebrate my aunty's birthday. The staff were very accommodating to our big group. There were 15 of us and they had a table set up for us as soon as we got there. The place was small so on their busy nights, it's a bit of a struggle to get around the tables. They definitely get busy during live music events. If you enjoy those events, this place is a go-to. If you don't like loud music, then I suggest you try this place during the day. Their food was good, a bit pricey. We tried a variety of their sisig platters. We also tried calamari and sinigang. I highly recommend getting the sisig platters. The calamari and lechon were a favourite in our group. The sinigang was not your typical sinigang. I was quite disappointed. Maybe it's a different way of cooking from what I'm used to (different provinces in the Philippines cook food with their own unique styles). If you enjoy dancing, they have a little dance floor for you to dance your heart out. You can request a few songs as well.

It was a choice of place to celebrate the birthday of 2 friends on a Saturday evening. For a party of 5, a reservation was made and the food was preordered--seafood platter and tofu sisig. We've been told the platter was good for 5 people. Well, maybe for first-graders but definitely not for 5 adults. Let me introduce to you what the platter consists of. In the middle of the platter are 3 healthy scoops of steamed white rice, topped with 4 small pieces of greasy diced eggplant. Surrounding the rice, were 1 small-sized daing na bangus, 1 small fried tilapia, 1 small grilled squid. Here's the funny part--5 green shells and 5 average-sized shrimps. To make the platter appear fuller, there was a dollop of atsara over a slice of cucumber and tomato, and another dollop of julienned mango & apple "something" over a slice of cucumber and tomato. On their menu, here's what the seafood platter should have: Stuffed bangus (milkfish), stuffed squid, fried tilapia, grilled shrimp, salted egg, grilled veggies, slives of mango and a bonus of pork and chicken bbq. Well, evidently, we were fooled! Where's the bonus pork and chicken BBQ? Please refer to the photos below: the service was very slow and the food was not great at all! We ordered 2 additional pork sisig that was full of red onions--enough to give someone an instant BO and bad breath! I don't do raw onions and I had to pluck them out and left with hardly any meat after it's all said and done. I'm telling you, half the platter was chopped raw onions. The place was noisy. The band that performed that evening was all instrument! The singer's voice drowned in the loud musical equipment. The patrons were loud and self-absorbed in their own world and had no care about the other people around them! Absolutely no courtesy whatsoever! Some people actually stood in front of our table to film a karaoke performance. After all this, for a table of 5, our bill came to a whopping $276.32! Word of advise--if you're hungry, don't go here! If you're looking for authentic Filipino food, don't go here! If you're looking for a peaceful meal and intimate conversation with your party, this is definitely not the place! If rowdy and chaos is your style, then this is the place for you! Don't set yourself up for disappointment. Following my Google review, here's a "response from the owner:" Note: Statements marked with " " are statements by the responder, which I have responded to, at the very bottom with asterisks**. Response from the owner a week ago Hi Patty, it is unfortunate that we have not reached your expectation. Our platter is good for 3-5 people. "It was never mentioned that it is good for 5 as it depends on who's eating and how hungry the customers can be." "It is shareable." "As per the Seafood platter, you have not been fooled, it is not listed in our menu that it includes pork and chicken bbq. Maybe you saw our Inihaw Overload Platter description on the menu. The Seafood platter is supposed to be all seafood and no meat." "As per the Sisig, each customer has his/her own preference and we respect yours. Next time you visit us, please inform the server to lessen or don't put raw onions on your sisig. We do make adjustments according to the customer's request." As per the live band, we do have different bands on Fridays and Saturdays, please check out our Facebook page and browse the bands and you may find a band that you will enjoy listening. Yes, our customers can be loud as they are having a good time, we are not in the position to refrain them from singing, dancing or chatting with friends. They go there to have fun and be entertained. I guess you will enjoy our Acoustic night on Thursday where our performer sings listening music. As per your bill, we have a $5 cover charge on Fridays and Saturdays. We assumed that you did check your bill before you paid. Your feedback is important to us and we hope that you visit us again. **Clearly, the responder has absolutely no clue as to what was 'mentioned' when the reservation was placed and confirmed at our table. **Obviously, it's a Platter. **Please see attached photo of their Platters description as per their website and compare to the picture of the Seafood Platter we were served. Please don't patronize--we are educated and know the difference between the two when we pre-ordered. "As per the Sisig, each customer has his/her own preference and we respect yours. Next time you visit us, please inform the server to lessen or don't put raw onions on your sisig. We do make adjustments according to the customer's request." **Future patrons--take note! "As per your bill, we have a $5 cover charge on Fridays and Saturdays. We assumed that you did check your bill before you paid." **Patronizing again. No, we did not know about the $5 cover charge and Yes, We reviewed our bill before we paid.

One of THE best Filipino restaurants I've been to in Mississauga! Really loved and enjoyed this place. The vibes were amazing, staff was nice, and the food was delicious! We ordered the platter and it was big enough to feed about 2-3 people! I also ordered their tocilog as well and really felt like I was back home in the Philippines! You can really taste the authenticity and love they put into the food! 10/10 for me and will likely come back! DISCLAIMER: photo was taken before COVID-19 which is why we were eating indoors.

And here we go again with Filipino restaurants jacking up the prices of their food. So sad. No wonder lots of Filipino restaurants don't really last for a long time. Although they don't have the best food in the city, I'm still rooting for Intramuros. The ambiance during their music nights is what probably sets them apart from other Filipino places. There will be live bands on specific days, acoustic nights, and karaoke nights and it's fun! Come and see how Filipinos enjoy & have fun!! Food wise? Typical food. Plus, as I said, overpriced. Service? Okay Vibe? Good. Would I come back? Maybe.

Amazing Filipino bar in Mississauga! We went there to celebrate my birthday, which coincidentally fell on a Friday where they have a live band playing, karaoke and patrons are encouraged to dance. The place felt very 'all embracing' like a big house party in someone's home and you know everyone. I was with a bunch of non-Filipino friends but they enjoyed a lot and vowed to be back even just by themselves. It felt like having a dinner and attending a concert all in one. The performers were amazing (Filipinos are so damn talented) and we were very surprised when the resto manager, who was very attentive and friendly right from the moment we walked in, took the mic at midnight and amazingly sang 'Zombie'..my jaw dropped literally in amazement. The band is great, and in-between their sets, they allow patrons to take the mic and sing. They also dont rush you to leave..we sat there from 8pm til past midnight, and at one point, when we wanted to leave at 11:30pm, the manager asked us to stay back and wait for her to sing! Did I mention the food yet? We barely finished placing the order, when 5 minutes later, the food arrived piping hot that I thought they made a mistake and sent it to another customer's table! Servers were very, very friendly..the food was amazing. my friends who have only eaten Filipino food at potlucks in the past enjoyed the sisig, beef steak and desserts. I highly recommend going to this bar..although a selfish part of me wants to keep it a hidden gem secret so we can keep enjoying the place without the worry of competing for reservations.

I always find myself coming back here! Food is so delicious. Servers were so friendly and made great recommendations. I love the atmosphere, so many people singing and having a great time around amazing food. Definitely recommend for family dinners!

Some vids didn't even load! - not a lot of food options, lotsa fried/food that can be cooked quickly - slow-ish service. Took quite some time for the first round of drinks/food to arrive - food is mediocre. The fried chicken wings are pretty much tasteless - some iced drinks weren't great, too chunky/sweet. Bubble tea is probably from a powdered mix, had to add water 'cause it was waaay too sweet - since it's a package, prices esp on food/bottles is pretty overpriced, so you hafta order wisely - kareoke system wasn't super user-friendly - 15% gratuity was automatically included in the bill. So you'll be paying that even if the service is slow &/or sucks If you're in the mood for kareoke, in English, I'm sure there are better options in the City! High Zone is OK, but go in a group of at least 6ppl 'cause it's $200/3 hours, so it's better value.

If I'm going to be in downtown Toronto and I'm going to have a big group, I always pick Bar+ if they're available on the day I'm looking for (and if it's not a Monday -- they're closed on Mondays which I found out by just trying to roll up to the spot!) Bar+ makes group karaoke easy because they have various sizes of rooms, a wide selection of songs (with some recent songs too!) If you're really worried about song choices, there's an app you can download to your phone in which you can browse their entire catalogue whether you're there or not. Bonus, the app also acts as a way to have more than 1 device to add songs into the queue once you're in a room! PRO TIP: if the song listed has the "MTV" tag, it usually. means it's literally just the music video with no lyrics. The other reason Bar+ makes group karaoke easy is that you can go out to the bar to order your own alcohol, or order bottles (of soju) to bring into the room to share, and you pay each time you go out to the bar. One thing to call out -- DON'T throw your bottles into the trash cans in the rooms! The bottles get collected by the staff for recycling! I think there's a service button on the same tablet you input your songs, but I'm pretty sure you can also go out to the bar and ask them to collect empty bottles.

Between 3pm to 8:30pm you can sing as much as you want for only $15 per person and it includes a free non-alcoholic drink and unlimited water! Since the karaoke bar is relatively newer than the others nearby, the sound system and the furnitures are better too. Considering that the price is the same as other places, I would definitely recommend checking out Echo for happy hour karaoke singing. To pick your songs, you can browse through the touchscreen menu to select the songs you want. You need someone in your party who can read Chinese as I don't think the menu has an English mode, though they do have lots of English songs to choose from including the recent ones. Also, keep in mind that no matter how big your room is, each room only gets 2 mics to sing from, so it may be more reasonable to split into 2 rooms if your party is too big. You can call ahead to book a room for your party, this is when we found out that they are owned by the same people who runs 8090KTV across the street lol. Outside of the happy hours, they have other pricing structures such as by per hour or by per person. Since I have never been here during other times, I cannot say how reasonable their prices are, but just for happy hour, Echo is now my favourite karaoke bar in Chinatown.
