I came here simply because the atmosphere seemed pretty cool and dim, looking for something different in the Yonge/Sheppard area. I wasn't disappointed with authentic Korean food. I tried their Half and Half - Bossam and Pork Hock. Maybe not the best choice since it didn't seem like the highest quality meat. I had this in Korea before, but there isn't much flavour. You can taste spice and that's about it. Some of the lettuce and cabbage didn't seem like the freshest. The portion said it's for three people, but I felt like it was more for two, max 2.5. Appetizers were good.

My fav bossam place. Usually get the medium or large size steamed bossam. The meat is sooooo tender, and I love the side dishes. More variety then most korean places. But love coming to this place with friends, especially to have a good time with good food!

One of my best friends brought me here, definitely a hidden gem. If you know what to get it will be a truly great experience. I like the ambiance nice and cozy. The pork belly was amazing! And one of the rare spots that had Makguli! The staff we're very welcoming and friendly.

I'm Korean and one my favourite Korean dishes would have to be Bossam. Bossam is steamed pork belly with sides of cabbage, a bean paste, and shredded cabbage Kimchi. I've been all over Toronto for the search of a delicious bossam and I think I have found the one! My fiancé and I came on a Wednesday night and ordered a medium bossam and budae jigae. Buda jigae is a large spicy pot over a butane stove that has noodles, spam, sausage, tofu, veggies, and pork. This spicy pot is so good for those cold Toronto nights and Jameh Bossam killed it with authentic flavour and generous portions. The bossam was steamed to perfection and almost melted in your mouth. I guess one downside was the small amount of the bossam kimchi, but I'm sure you could ask for some more. The atmosphere was nothing special, it's very casual. Our waitress was really nice and attentive as well! Will definitely be back here.

We ordered the Half & Half which consisted of pork hock and bossam (sliced pork belly). It was served atop a bed of lettuce with kimchi, jalapenos, and garlic slices. We also ordered some rice on the side to accompany the meats. They brought out several small plates of banchan which I always loved eating. Among the side dishes I loved the fried tofu the most. It was still hot and the skin was so crispy. The meat could be enjoyed as a lettuce wrap dipped in the sauce they provided or simply with some rice. It was a really delicious dish that could somehow be seen as the healthier option to Korean BBQ (my logic: boiled meat is healthier). Service here was great as the server was really nice and gave us refills on our banchan. I did find it quite difficult to talk with my friend since the music started getting really loud as the evening went on.

4 stars for the rice cakes :D Recommended by a friend, I decided to try this place on a Friday night with my boyfriend. Around 6pm it was pretty empty but shortly after, it got busy and the restaurant was filled. Menu was not posted online so I took a couple of photos (Check out the photos). We decided on ordering the Cheesy Spicy Rice Cakes (15.99$) and the Pork Hock (M) (17.99$). Loved the rice cakes! It was just the right amount of spice and the rice cakes were cooked perfectly. This has to be one of the best spicy rice cakes I've had in awhile. Pork Hock (M), I've never tried before but we decided to try it out. The ingredients were fresh and the romaine lettuce was crisp/fresh as well. It was tasty and I especially loved the combination of the garlic and jalapeño peppers. Overall, price wise I think it's more expensive than a typical Korean restaurant but it's worth it. Service is average and when it gets busy it's hard to get their attention. Beer selection is limited for draft but they have a decent choice of beer in bottles. I would come back and try out the other dishes as they had a variety of food to choose from.

This place is definitely a hidden gem located near Yonge and Sheppard. Such a great environment and different from what I am normally used to when it comes to Korean restaurants. The bossam is delicious! the pork belly isn't dry at all and it isnt fatty. This is served with lettuce, garlic, onion, kimchi, jalapeno peppers and sauce. If you need more of the ingredients, you can ask for more without extra charge. I really liked the budae hotpot but I might be bias because I love HOTPOT. This comes with instant noodles, spam (mmmm), enoki mushroom, sausage, and more but I cant remember everything in it right now. I tried the seafood pancake and it was just mediocre. It comes in a very large portion so if you have a lot of food already, I wouldn't recommend. I would probably just opt out of this regardless, it isn't anything special. They have a good variety of beer, sake and soju. The banana soju was AMAZING. I will order this every time i visit. Although, I tend to really like banana flavored stuff. It also comes in a peach flavor that is a good too. Bad part? it is only 4% alcohol haha This place a little pricier than your typical Korean restaurant but I would still recommend this place for a casual night out!

Bossam and pork hock platter. Bossam pork belly cut is amazing. Thick juicy cuts. Pork hock too dry and bland. Sides and sauces are amazing

Bossam here is off the hook. Came back for bossam again but this time tried combo B, which includes small Bossam, small pork hock, hotpot, seafood pancake, pork sizzle and bottle soju for $84. Amazing deal ! We were 5 and also got an additional soju for $17, so the total bill including tax/tip came to $130 , so $26 per person was very good value! The side dishes were soooooo good, top quality- chapjae so tasty, special fresh kimchi, green bean salad and flavored peanuts - that we kept getting more refills but at some point at asking for another refill the server told us he had to put a stop to it because u cant actuall get refills on the sides, he just did itfor us the first couple times to be nice. Oops hehe . Otherwise they are one of the highedt quality korean sides ive had. Too bad they dont do free refills, i have resentment for that cuz how cheap is that! But the 5 stars is mainly for the bossam and overall value. Dont come here for anything other than bossam tho, either bossam alone or the combo if u have big group. Hotpot is mediocre, pork hock is meh, seafood pancake is delish, pork sizzle pretty good, and the sides are incredible. I like that the place is hole in the wall as well.

Went there on a random weekday night, and the place was empty. The food was mediocre. Took 20 mins for the server to take our order (restaurant was practically empty), had to ask a few times for water. I wouldn't go out of the way to go there. The beef was tender but a bit greasy, the seafood pancake was ok.

The staff was quite busy and sometimes hard to get their attention, our waiter was writing our order on napkins. Did they run out of notepads? Our side dishes came with our food and it wasn't too spectacular. The food was good and hot, but I've had better Korean food. Overall, I feel this place is good, but pricer end. Our 4 dishes with 10% cash discount was $85 before tip. Just the japchae alone is $27.99! Anyways, I think I would try other restaurants if I am in this area due to prices and service.

Definitely not my first time here as I've come with family or friends over the past 15+ years, every time, leaving very satisfied. Made sure to arrive for opening time to get a table right away since based on past experience, the wait can take some time, especially for dinner or on the weekends. Of course, had to order my two favourite menu items: 물냉면 - Mool naengmyun (Cold Noodles) and 김치찜 - Kimchi jjim (Braised Kimchi with Pork Belly). Have tried their other dishes in the past, which are pretty standard, but always find myself still gravitating back to these two. The slushy broth is always so tasty and refreshing! They also bring out a good variety of 반찬 - banchan (side dishes). I've been dealing with some dental pain, and my partner is just getting over a nasty cold, so we wanted something gentle, nourishing, and easy on the body - not a heavy, greasy brunch. Bonjuk's whole vibe of "comfort food with heart" really delivered. We'd only done takeout before, so this was our first time dining in. The space is small but really welcoming - warm lighting, clean and simple decor, and comfortable seating that makes you want to slow down and relax. It's not a huge place, so there aren't tons of indoor seats, but that also gives it a cozy, intimate feel. Service was friendly and low‑pressure, which we appreciated when we were both feeling a bit under the weather. We ordered the Chicken Porridge ($23) and the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap ($24), both for dine‑in (prices don't include tax and tip). The chicken porridge was savoury, and soothing, with a rich broth that felt healing without being heavy. It was easy to eat with my sore teeth and left me feeling comforted, not stuffed. The beef bulgogi bibimbap was a nice contrast - colourful, fresh, and full of flavour. The bulgogi was sweet, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the mix of veggies and egg made it feel like a balanced, healthy meal. It's definitely a step up from typical brunch fare if you're looking for something lighter but still satisfying. One thing that really stood out was their baby porridge menu. It's such a thoughtful touch - separate, gentle, low‑salt options for little ones. As someone who's seen new parents struggle to find safe, easy meals out, this felt genuinely helpful and kind. It's easy to see why their marketing feels like they actually care about making food that's good for people, not just trendy. If you're looking for the best value, I'd say go for takeaway. We noticed a steady stream of takeout orders, and the overall costs are slightly lower that way, especially when there are discounts offered by different order platform. Overall, Bonjuk Canada is a good spot when you want something comforting, healthy, and easy on the stomach - whether you're recovering from illness, have dental issues, or just want a more mindful brunch.
