Training was priceless. I was skeptical but just added a new baby Rottweiler to the family and safety for him and others was my #1 concern. Training was beyond expectations and definitely beyond what I could have done without creating mistrust. They came out several times and even brought another dog to walk around and create a serious distraction. Equipment is expensive. I put off putting 2 other animals on the system due to price and ended up paying more in damages. Ugh!! Discs are so nice and movable. The 6ft disc can go from 6in to 6ft with the touch of a plus or minus button instantly and can be tossed in a new flower bed or on the couch. We have a cat which means the formal dining room table can finally be decoratively set, couch no longer gets scratched so I didn't have to live with embarrassing clear tape on it anymore. I can enjoy my home as I want to and not feel like I am living in their house instead of mine. I was miserable and with the solutions invisible fence provides I can finally walk around with hair & dirt on my furniture and certain rugs. I'm not hearing glass breaking from an unruly cat flying across a surface full of champagne flutes! She's lucky she's otherwise so darn cute! TIPS: pay attention to where your fence is and understand how to twist it back together when the famous ATT or yard people don't bother to check for other signals and run through it. I think they secretly enjoy it. Its a super easy twist of your fingers but its a $100 service charge. People don't work for free. I know I don't. Know where its connected to your home and keep an eye out for the beeping sound that warns you of a disconnect. It was $3k for the fence install and 2 collars. Okay, since other wireless containment was not good for our wooded property and we wanted the dogs to stop chasing the deer. About a month after the installation, I noticed that the electrical outlet in my pump house wasn't working. Called the electrician and they identified the problem was a cut line when the Invisible Fence installer had trenched to bury the wire.. Since we couldn't prove that the installer had done the damage (we seldom check the pump house unless there is a problem), Invisible Fence declined to pay for the repairs. $3k repair cost that wasn't covered by insurance. Ugh! And last week our 7-year-old grandson attached a collar to his remote control car and launched the collar into the woods. Spent hours looking for it to no avail. Called Invisible Fence for a replacement collar and the cost was $400! My jaw hit the floor. When I expressed my shock at the price, the person on the other end suggested that I take the trainer base out into the woods and see if I could hear the collar beeping in order to find it. I did ask her if she had lost her mind because an area that large, to hear a light beeping from the collar, I would have to be belly-crawling on the ground and get lucky that I ran across it because the beeping is so faint. So, if I had just called a fence company and had the same area fenced in with a chainlink fence, I would be out about the same amount of money. I did my due diligence when looking for dog containment options. Invisible Fence is NOT the ideal choice. read more

Don't waste your money. Recently upgraded our system to dual zone, & within 2 weeks the main unit stopped working and had to be replaced on warranty. They came out to replace the unit, but with $179 service fee, when it was their brand new unit that stopped. Technician then crossed wires, messed up both zones so they don't work. Instead of getting an emergency appointment to get them back out to fix their mess up, I had to wait until their next available. Then was told a supervisor would call me back in 10 minutes, after the office closed for the weekend. read more

Do not ever get this, terrible costumer service, they messed up and didn't connect a wire right and they want to charge me $125 to come out and fix the mistake they made that I had to pay $125 for last time. They hung up on me after I told them I'm not going to pay for a mistake they made trying to fix it the last time. I own 5 properties with all of them with a fence from them. I payed double of what it use to cost on this property and have had more issues then not I have 4 dogs on this one and the soonest they can come out is in a month. I purchased my Invisible Fence in Raleigh last October. For 9 months it worked fairly well. Recently, while my dog was in my house playing with his toys, he started yelping, screaming and flipping around. It was obvious that his shock collar had activated, although he wasn't anywhere near the transformers and I had to tackle him to take off his collar. It was a very traumatic experience for him and me. When the technician came out two days later, he asked me if I had Spectrum, by any chance, and said that sometimes the Spectrum lines can interfere with the Invisible Fence. I decided at that point that I would never put the shock collar on him again. I contacted the Raleigh office and asked for a full refund. The General Manager, Vance Bryson, told me I would not get a full refund, but he would get back in touch to let me know how much he was willing to refund. I never received a follow-up call. I then contacted him again a week later and he agreed to refund all but $350 for installing the wire around my house. He then told me that if I returned all the equipment on a Tuesday or Thursday, a check would be cut and mailed to me on Friday. I drove 30 minutes to the Raleigh office on Tuesday, July 12, expecting my check to be mailed that Friday, July 15. It did not come for the next two weeks. This week, I called numerous times, trying to find out where my check was. Return calls were not forthcoming. Therefore, I called yesterday July 28, and requested to speak to the owner of the company. No calls again. This morning, I called again, requesting to speak to the owner of the company. Vance Bryson, the general manager, called just now and said that, unfortunately, a check will not be cut until next Friday, August 5th. He was very arrogant in this phone call, as well as the others. This has caused me a great financial inconvenience, as I had to have a fence installed around my back yard to protect my dog. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Every time we have an issue with our fence it is 2+ weeks before we can get an appointment for someone to come out and even look at it. This means that we have NO fence for our dogs for over 2 weeks. My husband has had to fix the fence himself every time. The one time we did wait for someone to come out, they didn't observe the time window and then we had to wait again for the part to come in. If customers always have to wait 2 weeks, then you need to hire more employees (this we'll predates Covid). read more

I am a skeptic about other people training our dogs. We have 2 English labs, great family dogs, when it comes down to it they look to me as the ALPHA. We originally only had one dog who is 8 now and he could not be happier having the full range of our property to play on (roughly 20 acres). Training was seamless (he had previously been trained on invisible fence so he understood what was going on). We recently got our puppy who is now about 6 months and I decided to listen to Vince and was pleasantly surprised with his decisions and the guys that he sent to introduce our Puppy to the invisible fence. We have had the BEST experience with Invisible Fence. We've had our fence for about a year and a half and it is one of the best investment we've ever made. We thought about putting in the fence for a year or so. We were TIRED of taking the dogs out multiple times a day on the leash. We looked into traditional fences, but they were incredibly expensive and a nightmare to get approval for. So, enter Invisible Fence. I reached out to Amy and she came to our home, sat down at the kitchen table with us, and listened to all of my questions and concerns. I had several: I was doubtful the fence could keep the dogs in. I thought either Stormy would get scared and run away, or Elvis just wouldn't care at all and walk right through it. (They are both black lab rescues- about 50 lbs.) I was also worried about the static correction because Stormy is extremely anxious and HYPER. She is afraid of loud sounds and sudden movements. She is afraid of men. She is terrified in a storm. I thought the correction would "hurt" her and scare her. So, Amy heard my concerns and completely understood . She explained exactly how the fence works, that the correction feels like when you shuffle across the carpet and get a little static sensation. She assured us that the correction is not painful, the trainers are highly skilled, and they would be able to respond to Stormy's special needs. She also assured us that the fence would keep the dogs contained. She. Was. Right. About everything! A few days after the consultation, they came to put the fence in. Another man came to train the dogs. It took minutes. They caught on so quickly! Stormy was super nervous, but the trainer was patient and attentive. The dogs were able to go out into the yard THAT DAY- no leash- free to run and play! There was another training day a while later and the dogs passed all of those tests with flying colors. Since the first day, to my amazement, the dogs have never left our yard. Several months ago, our daughter moved back home with her little rescue dog. I called Amy and a few days later, we added Spot to the Invisible Fence family. ;) We also had them come out to widen the fence when we had some bushes removed. Most recently, we discovered the fence was not working when Spot (the little devil) walked right down the driveway and up the street! So, once again, I reached out to Amy. Richard came out to the house this morning (during a quarantine!), fixed the issue, took pictures of it to show it to me and explain what happened, and even cleaned the dogs' collars. Now if that's not service, I don't know what is! I don't mean to be dramatic, but this fence has changed our lives. The dogs are safe, happy, healthy, playful, and energetic, and the humans have their lives back! :) We play together in the yard, they hang out with us on the back porch, they sit in the grass and eat their bones while we eat dinner on the patio. Outstanding service from Invisible Fence today. The control box was beeping and flashing red when returned from the YMCA at 11 A.M. this morning. We called Invisible Fence for a service call to determine the problem. We were told to expect a service man around 2 PM. But WOW --- service man arrived at 11:15!!!!! He said a wire might be broken causing the problem. He found a broken wire on the fence in the backyard - cause of break unknown but suspect an animal (raccoon or possum) may have chewed on it. Problem was repaired by 11:40 A.M. OUTSTANDING SERVICE. Update on the collar issue we had, collars were replaced in Jan 2014. No problem since replacement. My problem isn't with the fence itself but the collars. I have large hounds and they scratch at collars to get them off. Found the collars luckily in the yard the first few times. Went back to them about better collars. All they have are cheap cloth collars with plastic snaps that they want to charge high prices for. Now I am missing a unit. Guess what? 300+ dollars to replace it. Really? Oh well. I am stuck with the system so I'll have to eat the money for the new unit. Resolution. Make my own collars using hunting collars. read more

This is the WORST company I have EVER worked with. AT&T cut our line, which was not supposed to be in the easement, and VANCE charged me $145 to move my line 50 ft. Fast forward two years later and AT&T is back. AT&T cut the line again...1 1/2 feet in to my yard. So guess what? My line was not properly moved the first time. Called VANCE and he refused to correct the problem. Said the "bill was paid." DO NOT and I mean DO NOT use this company. At our request, he inspected our fence to confirm that it is in good working order but were informed that the batteries we had purchased from a "competitor" were not an "Invisible Fence" brand but rather a knock off. However, Mr. Bryson replaced the batteries and I purchased a year supply and signed up for a quarterly email reminder to replace the batteries in the collars (and he even showed me an easy way to test the batteries!) The consultation went great. We purchased the fence. The installation and initial training went great. However, after that we have had a really hard time scheduling training sessions. We work during the week and were told that there were weekend options available. However, it was quite a feat to get a weekend appointment. When we did, the trainer was 2 hrs late for it. So, my husband left work early for the training that followed. Our puppy was still not getting it after that training and I was told that waiting a week for the next was not ideal, however they didn't have appointment times available the rest of the week. If you work and have limited free time for fitting into their schedule, don't let "we will train them until they get it" be the selling point for you. read more

I scheduled invisible fence of Raleigh to come to my home and install invisible fence for my dog. I was scheduled for Monday at 8 AM, and I was told that I only needed to be there for a few minutes at the beginning. I had work so I was counting on invisible fence of Raleigh to be prompt in arriving at my home. Instead, they were 34 minutes late. No one even told me that they were going to be late. I had to call and get a hold of someone who then had to find out what was going on. No one at the office even knew that the work crew was running late or bothered to inform me. I was told to have payment ready, which was over $2000, and to hand it over at the time of installation. During the course of speaking with someone at the office as I was trying to figure out why the workers were late, I was informed that the pet doors would not be installed on that day even though I was told that installation would be on that Monday. Instead I was told that the pet doors would take another week. I was never informed of this upfront. I was led to believe that the entire installation would occur on that Monday. I planned my work schedule accordingly. The invisible fence brand is great, but this particular company is not worth giving thousands and thousands of dollars to when they can't show up on time, they can't keep you informed of what's going on, they don't tell you the full details of the installation upfront, and then you have to chase them down to get answers. It's not worth it for the amount of money you spend to go with this company when there are the companies in the area that provide the same service. read more
