Invivo Wellness is great! I unfortunately only go on (some) Saturdays because I am in grad school on many weekends. However, they are on Class Pass so I am able to book my classes for here right through the app. The class that I go to on Saturday mornings is the strength circuit course with Robert. It is hands down my favorite class in Milwaukee. It is so tiny and intimate so you feel very comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and getting minor corrections to better improve your form/strength. Every Saturday I go, the class is different in some senses. There is always a TRX, floor and mat part to the class but the movements are not the same. The class is only 45 minutes so it goes by quite quickly. Robert is a terrific instructor and can provide help to men/women of all ages. If you are part of Class Pass or belong to this studio already, that class is a must!! read more

Thanks to a Meet Milwaukee/yelp event, myself and about 10 fellow yelpers got to sample a free class in their Milwaukee-river-overlooking yoga studio. I've heard many great things from different people over the years, and since it's in the neighborhood, I'm not really sure how I'd never been! But I was glad to check it out. The facility is super clean, modern and new. They have a workout area, said yoga and (I think) offer massage and other therapeutic services. The yoga studio was really nice. Lots of props available, a great sound system, lots of windows on the river and a class that was an easy enough intro for a yoga newbie, but our instructor suggested plenty of modifications if you have been doing yoga longer too. Looking online too, they offer different kinds of yoga classes, so I'm thinking its just a matter of finding the style you like best. Thanks and Namaste:)! read more

Had a 90 minute massage with Charisma. Whoa! I think I got the best massage I had ever had! She was very intuitive and I really felt a huge difference on the pain I had her work on. I really enjoyed my time at Invivo!! It's a beautiful facility overlooking the river. They offer a variety of classes and spa treatments. It has the feel of a small gym and the massages are really catered towards physical therapy healing. I had a deep tissue massage with Elizabeth. She was super friendly and payed attention to my needs. They also provided me with a robe and locker so I could use the sauna and showers after. It was so relaxing! I think their prices are super fair and I've heard from friends that they have great deals too. I'll definitely be back!! And back to try some yoga classes as well! read more

I am more of a mouse potato than a yoga master. But my sitting all day at a monitor wasn't helping my bones, so when my doctor found week bones, I had to kick it up a notch, but not injure myself. Invivo offered a Yoga package to try them out and I've stayed several years now. First, the variety of classes is great. When I'm feeling strong, I try the more challenging classes, and when I'm feeling stressed I take the gentler meditative classes. I enjoy the variety and being able to sign up on-line to reserve a space in the classes I want. The gym has plenty of equipment for me to do a circuit, and there are plenty of tread mils available. Wonderful atmosphere. Serene, gentle and friendly. It is not noisy, so if you are looking for a place to pump iron with a throbbing beat, this ain't the place. The Yoga studio and the gym has wonderful light and overlooks the river. The dressing rooms are elegant, with showers and a sauna (women and men have their own). I've had a massage in the spa, taken some of the specialty classes (Pilates) and workshops (Nutrition). They keep it fresh with new offerings always being rotated into the mix. The trainers in the gym will check me and make an adjustment whether or not I'm paying for a session. In good weather, Yoga classes go out on the roof for a change of pace. A good place to escape the cruel dark world rushing, pushing and shoving. read more

While Invivo offers a multitude of services, this review is specifically for the sports massage I received from John Schaefer. If you have been dealing with any aches, pains, or just want a massage you have to see John. I have never received such incredible service. I have been dealing with a variety of ailments due to running, cross fit, and other day-to-day stressors. We spent a good amount of time discussing these and how they impact my body and the specific areas that absorb all that tension. It was nice that he seemed genuinely interested. During the massage, he periodically checked in to see if the pressure was too much/not enough and adjusted accordingly. I was so relaxed I definitely drifted off a few times. At the end of the service, John went over some additional exercises/stretches I should incorporate into my routine so that I can avoid future injuries. Oh, and you also get a nice piece of chocolate as a parting gift! read more

Alright In Vivo. You win. I am a beyond a fan. I'm a devoteeeee. I'm a nerd. I drank the Kool-Aid, and now I'm in love with Yoga. LOVE. Three times per week I'm in love. Three times per week, I'm rockin' savasana on the river. I'm working on my revolved triangle. Your yoga instructors? Great. All of them. (There are of course some classes and teachers I prefer, but seriously. Every last one of the teachers is awesome.) The gym. I should go more. I go sometimes, but I should go more... and it's good. It's not too crazy though it has everything you could possibly need to get all fit and schhnit without it being all intimidating. And also, you look outside and there's the river, all brown and murky in its urban glory. (I had to say it. It doesn't mean I don't love it. That, and the sunlight and the brightness and the openness. Sigh.) The facilities are great. The locker rooms are great -- can you say sauna? Because I can. And this is without any of the spa treatments/ayurvedic stuff I'ma look into. Or the physical therapy. Yayayayay. I win for getting to hang at In Vivo. read more

Invivo is a really fabulous oasis for me. The yoga instructors are pretty good, Paula is very good - I think they all also instruct elsewhere around town. Invivo was one of those gyms I drove by all the time, heard about, but never took the time to actually visit. That all changed when I saw a class package on Groupon. And damn, am I sure glad I purchased it. I thoroughly enjoy Invivo - the classes, instructors, atmosphere, and view. I mainly go for yoga, but I've recently been taking some of the fitness classes, too. The Monday Core Challenge class is awesome, and I usually follow it with Yin Yoga, which is conveniently right after. The abs class is 30 minutes long, but whoa, it's a killer! I've tried a variety of other yoga classes (Tuesday vinyasa, Wednesday hatha, Saturday sun salutations) and enjoy them, equally. All the yoga instructors seem knowledgeable and extremely mindful of everyone in the class. They are attentive and caring. I, personally, appreciate it when instructors come around and help correct form, or help you get a deeper stretch. The instructors are all very different as well (more variety than a typical studio it seems), so I encourage you to try a few out and see what styles you like best - some teachers are more upbeat while others are more calming. Overall, Invivo is a great gym. I like how it's smaller, more intimate, than most. It's always very clean as well. The only downfall: I wish the evening classes started just a tad later. Even 5:45pm would be helpful. It's near impossible to get there by 5:30pm (and I'm only coming from work which is 4 miles away - downtown area). I feel bad when there's a lot of people rushing into class last minute, only to have to rearrange the yoga mats so everyone can fit. read more

Invivo is a great yoga studio that also contains space for rooftop yoga and fitness classes. They also have a workout area with machines and free weights. They have a variety of yoga classes for all levels, and their instructors are knowledgable and friendly (I really like Paula's classes). The space is just beautiful -- huge windows overlooking the river, giving you a gorgeous view and a ton of natural light. The perfect set-up for a yoga practice. Their locker rooms can't be beat. Clean, quiet, and spacious. It's so nice to have somewhere to store your things while you practice, especially a place to lock up your purse and cell phone. This is part of what makes Invivo an atypical yoga studio -- it's so nice to have access to showers after class too. We have yet to try out their fitness classes, but we've really liked their yoga classes thus far. Be on the lookout for Groupons to Invivo, because you can get a really good deal for a ten-pack of classes. read more

It's been a while since I enjoyed the chance to do some yoga, and I'd forgotten how restorative it is. Thanks to Invivo's hosting of a Meet Milwaukee event, I'm feeling much more relaxed and living in the moment! A group of 10 of us recently enjoyed a one hour session. It was fantastic. I am hardly a yogi. But here was a chance to pull out a mat, a blanket, some blocks, and a strap and put the tools to good use. Feeling a little bit shy I took a spot in the back. We started out by working our backs. My lower back seems to store my stress, so I found the exercises we did very relaxing. The exercises in a gentle way also let me know I could benefit from doing some yoga regularly. We worked on stretching our arms, legs, feet, hands, neck, shoulders, and ended with bringing our focus into the moment. I left feeling grounded, soothed and glad I went to the event. ******** my update to this review is that later today that this happened to come up after I wrote this review, I need therapist wrote me and apologized and told me that there was a lot on his mind. He said you didn't want to lose the relationship that we had and I decided to go back.******* I have been at Invivo for physical therapy for several things over many years, and I have always been extremely pleased at the focused amount of attention, the knowledge of the practitioners, and their overall interest and willingness to help. However I was really disturbed at an interaction today that had me in tears. I had had an injury on the right side of my body and had extensive therapy. Coincidentally, I got a similar injury on the left side. In the gym, the physical therapist went through four of the exercises he wanted me to do on the left side. I knew them well. However, in the gym I didn't have a piece of paper to write down the specific ones that he wanted me to do. I must have 10 of them at home. My major problem in the past has been doing too many exercises or at too great a weight and having overuse injuries. I didn't want this to happen again, so I asked him to write down the four exercises that he wanted me to do. I also wanted him to jot down the number of sets and reps, which he had not given me. My overuse concern again. I was rehabbing a broken bone and didn't want to take any chances. He refused. As an aside, I know the therapist had been frustrated with me in the past because I needed more assistance in understanding the exercises because I simply don't have a logistical bone in my body. He had told me on more than one occasion what additional guidance I should and should not need from him, and when I should ask for assistance and when I should not. I knew that that had been inappropriate, but I tried to put that down to just his personality. In retrospect, I should should have left, which would have allowed him to take the patients he preferred. When I asked for the list again, the PT bluntly told me no, he would not give them to me. He said that I should know what I was supposed to do and he wasn't going to draw any pictures. I explained again that I didn't need any pictures, I just needed a list of the exercises he wanted me to do. I had already said that a few times but he apparently had not been listening. He then explained that physical therapists do not enjoy that part of the job ( exercise writing) and would rather do manual kinds of therapy. I told him that I would need to go to a different therapist if he wouldn't give me the info. My hope was not to have to leave, but to impress upon him how important this was to me. He had told me previously I had only 4 more sessions to go. To my surprise, he agreed it would be better if I saw somebody else. I chewed on that for a moment as he was doing manual manipulation, and I realized I really didn't want him anywhere near me. In my personal life, I had received a great deal of criticism that I wasn't good enough. I told him I was leaving. The therapist offered to write down the list of exercises, but I said no. As I was walking down the hall, I heard him say something to the effect that he was sorry. It was said in a strikingly unbelievable tone of voice. I'm not surprised that this happened, but I am really disappointed as they are good therapists. I want to stress that previous to this we had had a very good relationship over several years. Perhaps he felt more free to be rude since he knew me better. The takeaway for me is that no matter how good a relationship is, be it personal or professional, you have to carefully consider whether the benefits outweigh the negatives. Today it was very easy to make that decision. Perhaps it was for him as well. read more

This is one of the most beautiful yoga studios in the area. The studio and gym overlook the Milwaukee river. The staff is very committed to their members feeling better than when they arrived. Many different levels and kinds of yoga classes and lots of therapeutic yoga classes; this studio is perfect for yoga newbies, pregnant yoginis and yogis with injuries. This review is for John the massage therapist at Invivo. I seriously injured myself while weight lifting and needed desperate attention to my shoulder and neck. I called and they had an opening that day. John knows what he is doing and you can tell by how he takes a detailed medical history and listens to what problems you are having and tailors his massage accordingly. It was the best massage I've ever gotten and I do enjoy massages quite frequently. He has a great personality and an excellent touch. He advised me on some neck/head stretches to help with my sore shoulder/neck and today I am feeling a lot better. I highly recommend him! read more

I thought I'd write a review after going here 3 times for a prenatal yoga class. My first experience was over the phone. The receptionist was very helpful and informative plus friendly. When I meet her in person to sign up for the class, she was personable and thorough. There were customers waiting behind me and she still didn't rush me. Excellent first impression, I felt totally welcome there! So I go to the locker room and its is awesome! It is clean with tons of lockers, a bathroom, showers, a sauna and then a spa suite which I was told I was allowed to relax in before my yoga class, and I'm not even a spa member! (See? They are super nice!) The yoga class itself is really great. The instructor Maria is clear in her descriptions and demonstrative with her poses. I feel like each class is very worth while and that I am getting my moneys worth. She answers your questions, talks with you about anything you want to know and is I leave feeling refreshed and less stressed. Maria makes sure each class is tailored to what everyone there wants to do and makes it fun. She is enthusiastic too. I will definitely be coming back for classes until my pregnancy is over with and will probably even sign up for regular and mom-baby yoga. By the way, I don't ever write reviews but I felt compelled to since I like this place so much. read more

He's not only kind and professional, he's a true healer. I have really mixed feelings about Invivo. I came here on a Groupon for 10 yoga classes. So far I have used about 4. I find the atmosphere in Invivo to be a bit sterile, at least in the waiting room and gym area. The yoga studio is absolutely gorgeous, looking over the river, best enjoyed in daylight! I have had two instructors and they are both good, though I like Tracy the best! The yoga itself is really good, enjoyable, and relaxing. Downside to the yoga: the amount of people/the fact you have to reserve a spot and they fill up sometimes a week before (and you can only reserve a spot a week before the class!), the studio is kind of cold. So yea, that is my two sense. Good yoga, kind of cold and sterile environment (except for the studio), too many people. read more

Booked a last minute massage using the Mind Body app with Heather within 48 hours and it was WONDERFUL!! This is the 3rd time I have received a massage at Invivo and I've always had a good experience, but Heather was amazing!! She was so accommodating throughout and I escaped into a peaceful bliss. She offered water and reading in the waiting area afterwards so I was not rushed at all. I skipped the sauna this trip, but I have always loved that as another relaxing treatment as well. It was the perfect ending to a long work week! Only good things to say about this place!!! read more

I've had a Fitness membership with Inivivo Wellness for a little over a month now, and I love it. You get the relaxing ambiance of a yoga studio, with a pretty well-equipped gym. What I love most about Invivo is the fitness classes. Yoshi's Circuit class and Biz's Core Challenge are my favorites. These women are both amazingly fit, have really positive attitudes and give you a great work-out. The people who attend the classes are great, too-- positive men and women of all ages (though more women than men) who are all just looking for a great workout. read more

I was having some upper shoulder pain so scheduled a myofascial/deep tissue massage with John Schaefer. Let me preface this with the fact that I was a little apprehensive about paying $90 for a sixty minute massage but after the experience with him, it was worth it. He was really pleasant and personable but still professional. This wasn't your typical new age music aromatherapy rub about. John made sure to address the the issues I spoke of thoroughly. I went in for a massage---my first experience there. Booking it was delightful. Laura was kind, friendly and excited to help me get an appointment. When I arrived the service was a little less friendly. But the massage therapist was a gem! Torey listens extremely well and made sure she knew what I needed her to focus on. It was an amazing experience and I will be recommending her services to others. They could have taken advantage of the fact that I was a first-timer. A tour? A brochure? I absolutely love this yoga studio. It is extremely clean, beautiful, and the instructors are excellent. I can honestly say this is the best yoga studio I've ever been to! Some folks have criticised the fact that non-members need to make a reservation to join a class. I have discovered that I actually prefer it because it forces me to make a commitment and stick to it! I joined in December of 2018 and have since participated in Yoga practice at least 5 times per week. Fortunately I am on a flexible schedule so I have been attending some noon sessions as well as the later afternoon / evening sessions. All instructors are excellent and they all offer something unique of themselves. I joined because my left frozen shoulder required a lot of physical therapy but that was kind of cost prohibitive for me. Let's try YOGA!!! What a difference 2 months of regular yoga has made. I am now flexible and almost pain free. I can't thank Invivo's Yoga Instructor team enough!!! Every time I enter Invivo I am greeted with a smile and warmth. I really love this place! read more

I just happen to stumble across Invivo today as I woke up with a pretty bad aching back. I saw that they had physio so I gave them a try and to my luck they had a cancellation so I got in on the same morning. I saw Karen and it was probably the most relaxing massaging I've had with a combination of Stones, Reflexology, Deep Tissue and more. Her room is pure bliss, absolute relaxation and it was just what I needed. I highly recommend seeing Karen - great all over body massage and extremely relaxing which is just what I needed. I think I deserve another ROTD for this review, cause it's just as boring as my other one for The Establishment Salon. I kept it neutral and more positive. I really like Invivo. It is close to my house (I'm a Riverwester), and has a lovely location right next to the river. It is clean, modern, and the staff are helpful and nice. The locker rooms are also clean and up to date ... you don't have to bring a lock and I have yet to use the shower or sauna but I might the next time I go. I've only been there 5 times for yoga classes and have been satisfied with all of the instructors I tried. I have a favorite but it's fun to mix it up because each one has a different style and that can be good for balancing out your practice. I always leave feeling really happy that I invested the time for myself, in becoming stronger, and less stressed. Went a few weeks ago and the focus was on opening the hips, and yesterday's class focused on arms and shoulders. (I'm so sore right now, that it hurts to lift my teacup). I wish Invivo had one Bikram class, but there's another place around the corner with this "hot" yoga format which I will also try soon. Especially since it's getting really cold out now. Like other people have mentioned, the view from Invivo's yoga class is really what makes this place stand. The actual yoga room could be a bit bigger. It's impossible to give any place in Milwaukee a 5 star rating after taking a few classes taught by Katchie Ananda in San Francisco. She is a world famous teacher, where sessions are 2 hours long and start off with kirtan (chanting and musical instruments), pranayama (breathing) and finishes with meditation while she gives a lecture and lesson about yoga. As in like you have nothing better to do than adjust your schedule to their needs. Who's the customer here really? Terrible service. Will not use again. I drive 40 minutes just to go to this gym. I received a package as a gift. I initially started going for the prenatal yoga and massage. If you are pregnant and looking for an amazing class or an out of this world massage, you MUST attend classes and get a massage here. The staff is wonderful. Each person is friendly and always willing to help. I've never left without a smile on my face. These are quality people who care about their customer and enjoy what they do. The facility is beautiful and clean. I cannot say enough about the pleasant experiences I've had here. I will continue to come back after I have my baby. I love Invivo. Have been a member now for a little over a year. The location on Humboldt and Commerce is easy to get to. Street and garage parking easy to access. Diverse classes in yoga and fitness offered thru out day. Attend 3 different yoga classes, all are gentle, restorative type. Each instructor is skilled and knowledgeable and provides variations for students who are at different skill levels. Building is beautiful, on Milwaukee river with floor to ceiling windows in yoga and gym rooms. Not your typical gym setting. Also attend 2 cardio fitness classes weekly. Fun instructors who know how to push you and keep the class lively. Highly recommend to people looking for great yoga and fitness classes. Also has spa and therapeutic services, which I plan to use in near future. read more

I purchased a Groupon to Invivo a few months ago for a 55 minute massage; and finally cashed it in this morning. Had it not been for the Groupon, I wouldn't have even known this place existed. It's in Brewers Hill, in the same building Bayou used to be in. I was impressed with the sleek, modern decor and the number of class offerings they have. I would love to sign up for one of their yoga classes! The massage was exceptional. Heather was my therapist and did an excellent job. She used hot towels and stones, which was great. She also spent time talking to me prior to my massage finding out how much pressure I liked, where I was stressed, etc. After the massage I also received a paraffin hand treatment- which was something I've never seen a spa include with a massage. A very welcome addition! I really urge people to check this place out; I received a coupon for $20,00 off my next massage, so I guarantee I will be back! read more

I have been going to yoga classes here on a weekly basis for three years. Paula's classes are amazing. Tonight every ounce of my soul wanted to stay home on the couch. I dragged myself to class and it was exactly what I needed. I left feeling energized, focused, and ready to face the rest of my day. I woke up with a crick in my neck/shoulder, and being on a work trip, I needed a quick fix. Yelp helped me find Heather at Invivo who had the best balance of sports deep tissue and relaxation. The ambiance of Invivo is very inviting and relaxing. You can do a day pass at their modern gym (all the usual plus TRX, medicine balls, and weights). The locker rooms each have separate saunas, and the spa area is very quiet and warm. The yoga classes and teachers will leave you in a state of relaxation while simultaneously showing you new ways to find your full potential (and no class is ever the same). Classes have been really crowded the last couple months because of a Groupon, so if you want to drop-in on a class, I recommend calling to reserve a place. Kind of stinks that you have to do that. We signed up for the Yoga package Groupon a few months ago. I'm so glad we did! It's been such a great experience. Once you've been there you will want to sign up for more! Great instructors (Tina is a new instructor there that I really like. I am loving her Mind, Body & Spirit class), the spacious room overlooks the river, they have all the supplies you need (mats, blocks, straps,etc...) and the locker room is a little slice of heaven. Every time I go to yoga I plan to spend some time in the sauna (just remember to turn it on before you go into your class or you'll be sad when you step in to a cold room). They provide towels for the sauna and showers in the locker rooms as well. For dudes, you will not be alone. I frequently attend classes with my husband and he isn't the only guy in the room. For the girls, you won't feel intimidated either. There's rarely a Black Swan yogini putting you to shame. There is a spa at Invivo, as well. I have not been. Just noticed that they are offering Ayurvedic treatments... may have to check them out! I didn't even mention that they have a fitness room. There are packages/memberships that include yoga and/or fitness room access. The room also faces the river which is beautiful to stare at while getting all zen or sweatin' it out. read more
