I have been to many....and I mean many massage therapists in my life, and I can honestly say the massage and experience you get at Knead It or Knot is top of the line. Tracy has done miraculous work on my shoulders and back and it's clear she has a passion for her work. She truly massages deep into the muscles, rather than lightly rubbing your back, like some less talented therapists. The environment at her new location is warm and comfortable, and you begin to unwind as soon as you walk in! Unlike a previous reviewer, I have never experienced a problem with Tracy keeping her appointments with me....and I've had more than 10 already. She is always professional and does her best to accommodate my schedule and needs. I had a completely different expierience than the other review! I have numerious back and neck problems due to stress and as such tend to get a massage at a minimum once a month. After having tried many different therapists across the country (travel for a living) I have yet to find one as skilled as Tracy at completely relaxing me and helping relieve the pain and tightness in my neck and upper shoulders. I was so relaxed at a few points that I am pretty sure I fell asleep on the table! Upon completion of the massage I asked Tracy for business cards and told friends and family just how amazing it was. I found Tracy to be very client focused and concerned with what works for me both from a scheduling standpoint as well as making sure I got a massage customized for what I needed. If I could offer one critique it is that she is so good that scheduling needs to be a few weeks out simply because she is only one person and once you get a massage from her, you will be ruined for anyone else. My solution? I just set up a monthly appointment with her and have never seemed to have any problems. read more

I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM USING KNEAD IT OR KNOT MASSAGE THERAPY! I purchased a Groupon for a 90-Minute Deep-Tissue Massage at Knead it or Knot in April for $37, and despite the fact that it was an hour from my home, it was such a great deal that I thought it was worth the drive. I attempted to book my appointment online, but due to an influx of new customers using the Groupon, the earliest I could get in was late July - three months out! I understood the long wait as Tracy is the sole therapist at the facility, and I was relieved when she informed me that she would still honor the Groupon after the May 16th expiration date. I filled out a new client profile on her website with all of my contact information and secured my spot on Monday July 23rd. Three months passed, and the day before my massage I received an email confirming the details of the appointment. With the massage scheduled for 3pm - the only time available back in May - and my hour drive each way, I decided to take the whole day off. Who doesn't love a three-day weekend? I left my home at 2pm and arrived in downtown West Bend with ten minutes to spare. Upon reaching her suite, I was confused to find the lights off with a 'closed' sign on the door. I called her business line with no answer and left a message explaining that I was outside and hoped that she just had to step out for a moment, then hung up to re-check the confirmation email. At that point, I discovered two emails from Tracy sent just hours before. The first, sent at noon - two hours before I left my home - read "I have a conflict today, would you be able to come in this Friday at 2:00 instead?" No explanation, no apology, just a blunt cancellation. The second email, sent an hour later at 1pm, read "Please let me know if Friday at 2:00 will work for you." Perhaps something urgent came up, some unexpected family issue or related matter, and in that case, it's just one of those things that happens. I'm not the least bit upset about that. Any sensible person knows that some situations are simply unavoidable. But clearly she'd had an hour between sending the two emails, so this 'conflict' couldn't have been too critical. There was no sense of urgency, no hint of regret, and no concern that she was canceling on a new client with three hours notice via email. No, it felt more like, "Oh...I forgot I have something better to do. Hope you can work around my schedule." Thanks to the wonders of technology - something Tracy appeared to have made use of with her online new client profile - I check my email several times throughout the day, but after receiving the confirmation email the day before and already having checked my email twice the morning of, it didn't occur to me to check a third time before I left. On such short notice, most professionals would attempt a phone call when canceling, but my limited experience with Tracy is that she's not like most professionals. Rather, she very inconsiderately bailed on me two hours before my trek there, after a three month wait, and all she cared to do was send a couple pitiable emails. What's the point of having your customers fill out a client profile if you're not going to use it? Or perhaps a Groupon customer was just not worth the effort. I've been told by several professionals that use Groupon to market their own companies that businesses only receive 50% of the Groupon purchase price as revenue, so maybe to Tracy, $18.50 just wasn't worth the exertion of a phone call. Whatever the case, before getting back in my car and driving an hour home to try to recover some of my wasted day, I replied to Tracy's email informing her that I would have appreciated more of an attempt to reach me when canceling on such short notice, and, 'No,' I will not be able to make this trip again on Friday. When I did not hear back from her the next day, I gave Tracy the benefit of the doubt and assumed she must still be dealing with whatever matter caused the cancellation. However, by Friday, the day she suggested I come back, I still had not heard from Tracy - not even an email. Maybe this has all just been some sort of unfortunate miscommunication, but after three weeks with no attempt by Tracy to reschedule my appointment, I have no other explanation for her amateurish business etiquette. Luckily, this morning the great folks at Groupon gave me a full refund on the purchase price of this deal when I called to explain the situation. Once again, I completely understand that things come up - there's just nothing you can do about that. But the way Tracy handled the ordeal was so horribly unprofessional that I can't imagine I'm the only one who's had a bad experience with her. I am very disappointed, as I was really looking forward to trying Knead it or or Knot massage, but perhaps it is better that I was spared having to make this unworthy trip more than once. From one honest consumer to another, DO KNOT USE KNEAD IT OR KNOT MASSAGE. You DON'T knead it! read more
