I had a Monday morning appt at 9:30 am and told Barbara I would wait for my car till done. I was waiting at their shop for 9 hours! My car was finally complete at 6:20pm. I have a 97 CRV. I initially went in for sway bar bushings because my car had a clunking sound coming from the front end of my CRV and it was unnerving. I was told I needed to replace: - 2 Motor mounts - $139 parts and $194 labor - Oil pan gasket - $140 parts and $226 labor - Rt side CV axel - $168 part and $177 labor - Tie rod ends - front (2) $125 parts and $163 labor (they replaced these but the part is different shape from the original OEM) - Sway bar bushings - $19 and $129 labor - Alignment - $95 labor After about 4pm I asked mechanic who worked on my car (their son, didn't catch his name) if my car was ready and said yes. I asked about the clunking noise and he said, "there's still clunking after I test drove it". Am thinking all this time and cost and they haven't figured out the noise part?!? I realize no communication between Rodney and son, because I am still waiting as they take my car across the parking lot to the alignment shop. An hour later about 5:15 pm the alignment is complete (I am now driving with a steering wheel that is NOT aligned and if the steering is not aligned then can only imagine the suspension is too... I have to take it back...my CRV was fine before this!). Finally, Barbara asks Rodney to test drive the car and he tells me the noise is still there. It is now 5:30 pm! Told Rodney I don't want to leave without fixing this as this was the REASON I came in originally. I have two options in parts price I was told, they can drive now to pick up (2) Sway Bar Links plus labor quoted $317 or wait to come back the following day and they can get the parts and labor for $275 (I end up paying this price). They drove to pick up the part and Rodney installed the Sway Bar Links. I was happy, my CRV finally complete and out of there finally at 6:30 pm! My total bill was $1754 with a discount. I came to them because of Yelp's 4.5 star review and because it was on my way back from visiting my family in Pacific Groove. Personally, I believe they could have finished my car in less time, no ONE wants to be in a shop for 9 hours, believe me! They need to be more organized and have better communication among the family mechanics (my car was sitting unattended for long stretches of time). Not push so many parts that need to be replaced at one time (the engine oil pan gasket and ultimately sway bar links was really all I needed at this time). And as a small community shop, take a little more time to evaluate their part prices and labor time! read more

I came here for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told it would take an hr and 20 minutes. That's ridiculous considering each takes 15 minutes max. I went over to the mall came back a short time later and my car is still setting outside. I decided I'm going to wait in the lobby after seeing this. After almost an hr later they tell me my oil change isn't done but hey I got a free alignment because they mixed up my oil change with a tire alignment on a similar make vehicle. Finally an hr 45 min later they tell me oil change is done but they didn't do the tire rotation. What shop that has any credibility doesn't rotate tires when they do an alignment? Needless to say I left with only half the work completed that I came to do. Now because of this I get to spend my next day off going to have the tires rotated. The topper of this all is they tell me I may have a leak on the transmission pan. I asked the man with 25 years experience if they checked the transmission fluid to see if it was low. His response is I don't know but with amount of fluid showing I would bet it is. The first thing I learned in automotive class in college is checking fluids is the first step to diagnose a problem. After all his big shot attitude I looked at the paperwork supposably they filled all fluids. How do you fill something if your unaware if they are low or not. Morale here to the big shot mechanic setting on his ass behind the desk. Just because there is a woman standing in front of you doesn't mean she isn't knowledgeable about car repair. I will Trump your 25 years with my 35+ years of working on cars anytime. I will take my car elsewhere going forward. Warning to all who come here. If they tell you something is wrong with your car after an oil change take it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion. read more

Last week I noticed my check engine light come on for my Hyundai Genesis. There was also some white film on my oil cap, so I was worried it might be a big deal. I called Io on Monday, spoke with Barbara who was very friendly and set me up to bring it in on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon I get a call from them that they diagnosed the problem as a bad coil, had a tester replacement in, and wanted to get test driving done for it to make sure nothing else was wrong. I agreed. They then called me back this morning letting me know all was well, and after talking through some other minor issues with me they found, I told them I was aware of those, but we agreed no further action was needed at this time. They charged me a very reasonable rate for the work, and the car is back home again this afternoon. All in all, Barbara and Rodney were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We have some struts on my wife's Rav4 that need replacing soon, so we're making another appointment with them soon for that work as well. I can't recommend these folks highly enough. read more
