After trying a few clubs we determined to purchase a driver and a couple of fairway woods. We started discussing irons and Steve suggested that we wait to order those. He sent me to get a few lessons with a great PGA instructor and to work on my stance and swing. He shared with me to come back after those lessons and then we could figure out the "proper clubs" for me once I was able work on re-learning a proper stance. 6 weeks later I returned to the shop and we determined the correct clubs, shafts and hozzle angle to complete my set. When completed, I not only had a new set up clubs but improved my handicap by 8 strokes. Since that time I have moved out of state however I just ordered two additional clubs that Steve will be ordering and have mailed to me 1,800 miles away from the shop. I've never met a more knowledgeable golf fitter that puts his customer's satisfaction as his first priority. You won't go wrong working with Steve at the Newport Beach Golf Shop, I have sent others there and they had a similar experience.

My ball speed increase by 10mph immediately along with my distance. Charbe was awesome! The computer analysis she used blew me away. I got fitted and ordered my new clubs. The service and "pointers" made me a fan of the PGA store. They don't work on commission so there is no pressure only great service and advice. Can't say enough about Charbe. She's a 10!!

One of the employees came up and asked if I needed help. I asked a basic question about why some drivers were more expensive than others, and the answer I got was pretty surface-level--basically, "they're newer and have better technology." He offered to let me swing a few, which I did, but then he surprised me by saying, "You might be better off going next door to Roger Dunn Golf Shops." I thought that was weird for one store to be sending me to a competitor... Did I smell? I took his advice, and I'm really glad I did. At Roger Dunn, the experience was on a completely different level. I got fully fitted for clubs using real data--club speed, ball speed, spin rate, trajectory, distance--the whole deal. They had the equipment to actually measure everything and dial in what worked best for my joke of a swing. I was able to try multiple clubs at a variety of prices and compare them side by side in a way and with data that made sense. What really stood out was the time and attention I got. The guy helping me didn't rush, didn't push, and gave genuinely helpful advice the entire time. In a retail world where customer experience often feels like an afterthought, this was the exact opposite. I walked out with a driver that felt right, cost way more than I was intending on spending and more importantly, confidence that I made the right choice. I won't be buying golf stuff anywhere else. Huge thank you to the guy who proved to me with technology, patience, a passion for the game and great communication that you can play as well as you want, as long as you're ready to swipe your card. top notch!

Otherwise, this place is awesome haha the staff is usually friendly and helpful if you ask for it. You walk in and are immediately in reach of golf shoes and bags.. maybe time for an upgrade. Continue through to the golf apparel and gear. Balls, gloves, clubs, bags, hats, club fittings, etc they have it all here. They also service clubs here whether you need new grips or shafts. I had one of my wedges regripped, it was done on the spot in about 30 seconds FLAT and has held up perfectly. I'll have to get a picture of the pricing for service next time but I brought my buddy and he got 1 putter, 2 irons, and 2 wedges regripped for about $70 with a 2-day turnaround time. Not sure why it took that long when they did mine on the spot while we were there together.

I went to get my driver re shafted here and had nothing but issues. They sold me a shaft that was…read moretoo small for the driver head and it kept separating from the club. I took it back to the store to have it repaired and the repair guy fixed it again for me free of charge. I take it out to use again and experience the same issue of the shaft separating from the club head. I take it back again asking if they are able to fix it or if I can get my money back. I was told they are unable to fix it because the shaft was too small for the driver head and I would not be issued a refund. As a new golfer I was recommended this store by a friend, but now it feels like I've just been taken advantage of because they sold me something that wouldn't even work with my club and were not willing to make it right. On a side note the repair guy is very helpful by he can only do so much.

I got his contact from No Bogeys when I was looking for someone that does wedge stamping as a gift for a good friend for his 30th and Christmas. He was very quick to respond to my suggestions and tell me what's possible and what wasn't and provide a quote for his services. For what I wanted to get done it seemed most cost effective to do laser engraving versus stamping per letter ($10/First Letter, $7/Each Additional Letter, Up to 15 Letters, or $30/Laser Engraving Spot). Gave him a picture of what I wanted along with an SVG file of Doodlebob and about 2 weeks later, I got a call from him that it was ready for pickup. The lines are crisp and I appreciated all the extra work he did to get the vision of what I wanted on the club. Definitely the place to go to customize your wedges if you need a custom logo or if the manufacturer of the wedge you want doesn't allow for many letters (lookin' at you Mizuno) or any letters at all (Miura).
