I went into Roger Dunn to get fit for irons after terrible experiences at No Bogeys, GolfTec, and Club Champion. I figured I'd give it one more shot -- and I'm so glad I did. John Bouffard fit me and was absolutely awesome. Super kind, chill, and easy to talk to, but also incredibly knowledgeable about the game, the swing, the numbers, and ball flight. He made the entire experience enjoyable. He was so good that I came back to him again for a full gapping session. Confused by all this black residue streaks on my clubs after re-gripping. They look like they went through heck! Lol. Also every one of my new pink grips has ugly black smudges over them. Bummer! Came with my wife while she shopped for golf gear. Learned two things: golf clubs are expensive, and Roger Dunn apparently believes non-golfing spouses can stand indefinitely. I saw a woman sitting on the floor and was about ready to join her. Meanwhile, three employees stood about six feet away discussing a golf tournament and never once asked if my wife needed help. She knew what she wanted, but it did make me wonder why the store was paying them instead of entering them in the tournament. A couple of chairs would go a long way! read more

First off, keep in mind their return policy provides NO REFUNDS even on brand new, untouched purchases. Store credit only, no exceptions. "Customer service is our #1 priority." is written in all responses to negative reviews. Meanwhile, Roger Dunn completely disregards treating you with class and equity regardless of background. I'll echo the same sentiments from many other visitors. I walked in ready to purchase one of their $500-$650 zero-torque putters without delay considering the club fitting "experience" they promote and a tee time the next morning. I presume because I don't fit their profile, I was dismissed--no assistance, recommendations, or pre-purchase service. In the putting area, I asked to remove the wrapper on a demo I was about to buy (only variant left) to ensure no blemishes or differences in feel. An older man denied my request even though half the other putters were unwrapped. I asked what the difference is if they advertise a 90-day satisfaction policy. "Not on L.A.B.s." was the terse response without clarification. The venue is said to have a knowledgeable staff but they all seemed like grumpy mutes. The simulators and hitting bays were largely unused and many staff had nothing to do. Yet after being ignored for nearly three hours, they were suddenly busy and rushed me out as closing time approached. Toward the end, a young lady said I have to pay $150 if I wanted any club selection service before my purchase. Nope, the store was just closing. I ended up just buying the TaylorMade Spider 5K-ZT putter (as there were unwrapped models to test). The only employee that had any semblance of courtesy was the Asian cashier. If you're a serious golfer or expect a proper fitting before spending real money, skip this location. As demonstrated, Roger Dunn doesn't take action to rectify complaints. From my experience: 1. PGA Superstore in Irvine have an excellent staff, demo freedom, and open fittings. 2. Club Champion in Santa Ana have data-driven putter fittings and true customization. 3. Golf Galaxy in Tustin have great service, variety, and honest engagement. I spent over $5k here between 2007-2008 but no more. I don't mind having to pay 10 cents for a bag "per state policy". You should let your customers know this at the beginning of the transaction. You waited until my card was charged and we were closed out before I asked for a bag and you informed me of this policy. Now I'm supposed to pull out cash for a 10 cent bag. Lame. read more

I went in for a regrip on my irons a few days ago and was greeted at the club repair counter by an older gentlemen named Daniel. I usually have a good experience here so the dismissal I received was shocking. As I started talking he seemed to get a call on his phone and proceeded to answer it, having a full on conversation before returning to take care of me. He wrote down what I wanted and then spoke very rudely to the younger men working in the club repair area. He then told me it would be about 6 hours and insinuated that tipping would speed up the process. I could not believe the interaction I had. Very rude to customers and employees alike read more

Repeated mistakes at the club repair desk -- proceed with caution. I've given this location multiple chances, but the young staff working the repair intake desk consistently get work orders wrong. Three separate visits, three separate errors: 1) I asked for a Cobra DS Adapt sleeve to be installed on my driver shaft. The intake person wrote down "Titleist DS Adapt sleeve" on the work order, so it came back with a Titleist sleeve. This meant an unnecessary extra trip to the store and an extra round of heat applied to my shaft -- neither of which should have happened. No apology was offered. 2) I brought in a putter shaft to be shortened by one inch and re-gripped. They installed the new grip without ever shortening the shaft. 3) I asked for a 3-wood shaft to be tip-trimmed by half an inch and cut to 41.5 inches from the grip end to the end of the sleeve (42-inch play length). The intake person wrote down "play length 41.5 inches" on the work order -- completely misunderstanding the spec. Fortunately, the technician who actually does the work happened to walk by, and I was able to clarify directly with him. The pattern is clear: the staff taking work orders do not understand club building terminology, do not ask the right clarifying questions, and do not accurately document what the customer requests. My strong advice to anyone using the repair service here: do not rely on the intake desk alone. Ask to speak with the technician in the back and personally verify that every detail on the work order is correct before you leave. It will save you time, money, and frustration. Also worth noting -- the young staff at the front desk and cash registers are often more focused on chatting with each other than acknowledging customers. Basic customer service, like greeting someone when they approach the counter, should not be too much to ask. read more

Went to ask if he could do a deal on some used clubs, but he was clearly nearing the end of his shift or just a regularly, angry, little man. He was extremely curt and just down right rude. With the amount of used clubs they have in stock, you would think they would try and do something for a long time customer. I drove up to this location this morning and got there about 10:20am to beat the crowds and try some new clubs. They have about a dozen stalls with which to try them with signs posted limiting the hitting sessions from 10 to 15 shots to allow others to step in and demo the clubs. It's unfathomable to see that this horrid place gets 4 stars ffs! Not one of the hitters occupying these hitting stalls adhered to the 10-15 ball rule, it's the public what else would you expect? And that is precisely where the ZERO customer service kicked in. There were FIVE so called "...sales attendants" behind the back counter in their black shirts adjacent to these hitting stalls. They did absolutely nothing but chat and chuckle with each other not noticing everyone using this place as their own personal driving range, let alone assist me in getting a chance to hit some. After walking up to the counter it was obvious no one gave a rats ass and I promptly left without hitting a single ball! Customers are like teeth, if you ignore them they'll just go away! Ever since Gary had passed this place has gone to the shitter regarding customer service. No sign of it whatsoever. They must be rolling in money to treat us like this! Roger must be turning in his grave watching his name being affiliated with such blatant ineptness running it. What a mistake I'd made thinking it was run similar to the Mission Viejo store where respect and customer service is in the forefront of what they do! I had a chance to do the iron fitting with Nick De Lia.. We spent enough time going through different clubds and shafts and finally decided the one that I liked. The delivery was faster than expected and there were some minor adjustments needed. Nick, as promised took it personally and took care of my needs right away. Not only Nick is a fantastic fitter, he is also a caring person with customer satisfaction in his mind. I will visit him again for my driver fitting soon. My dad came in for a fitting and Kalani helped him figure out what adjustments needed to be made after analyzing all his swings with various shaft and club head combinations. Kalani was very thorough, honest and went over all the stats and then pivoted to making solutions for the problems my dad was trying to fix. We drove all the way down from Calabasas to come to this location because it was touted as the best place and highly recommend by friends. It sure met expectations and was worth the visit. read more

They have everything you can think of and it's reasonable compared to shopping at pro shops when you're a member of a club. I found my new place to get everything that I need when it comes to golf. I have been fit for all my clubs but never my putter. I made an appointment and Dean Fujinami fit me using the Cool Club system. The system is amazing and does an amazing job of showing you video + statistics. Dean was great and identified a problem with my set-up and current putter. He brought in a different Scotty model and felt/saw the improvement. Ordered it to the specs and excited to get my new putter! read more

When I tried to do the exchange and extremely rude and condescending teller at the main entrance looked at me with a dissaproving attitude and huffed out, well, you have bought 3 sets and returned them that's going to cost you 30% restock fee. You're costing us money. I get the policy but for him to get nasty and tell me I'm costing them money is ridiculous. I've spent thousands at that store over the years. I finally got a chance to come here after all the talks of this place from my friends. Though we thought about getting some clubs, it was more of just checking out how big this place really was and the assortment of brands, clubs, clothing, shoes, etc that they have. Just way too many to list here. Right when I walked in, I was amazed by the look of how the layout and sectioned off by the name brands like Callaway, TaylorMade and others. Just like the other Roger Dunn shops, there are bays here for you to try out used clubs. If you're in need of trying the new models, just let the staff know as they have demos for you to try. You definitely don't feel any pressure here trying out clubs. Monitors are set up to record your swing speed, distance and others. Staff here are friendly. So many options here. It's like a kid walking into a candy store for the first time but instead it's an adult walking into a golf shop with so many options. Definitely will come again. read more

Though I was an avid golfer for much of my life, I stopped golfing for the last 10 years. Recently, however, more time in my schedule had freed and I was able to get back into the game. I drove to Roger Dunn's to check out the what the golf world now had to offer. Firstly, I was impressed with the incredible selection of every type of club and gear golf had to offer. Secondly, the service I received was amazing. Fisher, an associate at the store, helped me tirelessly for at least an hour. Endlessly handing me club after club to demo at their indoor range while at the same time bringing me clubs that were better suited for my swing. His knowledge of the equipment, the latest technology in golf, and swing mechanics was vast and in depth. And he was extraordinarily patient while helping me select my gear. From your club fitting from all major brands, club repairs, selling/trade in old clubs, buying used or new clubs this place has it all. No they aren't the cheapest place for new gear but if you're looking for excellent quality used gear they have a very HUGE selection that changes literally weekly if not daily. Alot are mint condition 9.5 demo clubs that are heavily discounted. They also have a 90 day no question asked return policy on all items. So if you have any doubt of a club buy it try it and exchange if you're not happy. I've bought clubs, balls, gear here for many years. Even if you just want a quote on trade in value just stop by the customer service desk. You can use your trade in to purchase a new/used clubs or save the credit for future purchases on anything or cash out if you want. During covid they are providing gloves, sanitizer at the entrance if you need it along with limiting capacity inside. Yes masks are required to enter and while in store. The shop is always pretty busy with people in the hitting bays trying clubs, putting green or in the brand fitting bays. The staff is typically very friendly and helpful if you have any questions or need help. Yes there are some bad ones but that's like any big shop.
