During the pandemic I decided to start focusing on my health and exercise a bit so I started to…read moreexercise every morning with my roommate. Unfortunately, I started to feel a lot of tightness and clicking in my right hip. I kept trying to power through it, but after some time I was having difficulty completing my morning exercises. I really wanted to keep working out but was having such a hard time doing any ab exercises or even squats so I decided to give it a couple weeks of rest. Unfortunately, it ended up coming back once I tried getting back to it. I decided that it was probably time to have this professionally looked at. I had considered going through my primary physician but my friend suggested to give PT a try. I searched for "best physical therapy near me" and came across Pro+Kinetix Physical Therapy. After talking to Dr. Ben on the phone about my injury I realized that this clinic was exactly what I was looking for. I scheduled my evaluation and at the end of my evaluation my physical therapist helped modify the activities I was doing to allow me to complete 95% of my normal workout pain free. This was huge for me as I exercise for my mental health and couldn't fathom taking weeks off from working out again. 6 weeks later and I'm back to working out 100% pain free and I feel so much stronger! However, what's most important to me is that I am better educated about my body and my previous injury so I'm confident that I wouldn't be needing therapy in the near future!

I've been a runner for nearly my entire life, but I've spent the past decade battling injuries…read more I've been through physical therapy programs for rehab before, but I've never had a program set me up to build strength and prevent injuries quite like Pro+Kinetix. Each week I feel noticeable improvement in my strength and balance and I'm looking forward to months and years of pain free running ahead. If you're an athlete looking to build the strength and prevent injury I definitely recommend giving PT a shot!

I've owned a CrossFit and drop in to a lot of gyms...this is one of the top ones I've visited!…read more Programming is done by the head coach and is appropriate for anyone dropping in or regularly training there. The coaches care and provide each athlete individual attention throughout the case. This gym also has an ATA adaptive certified trainer so it's inclusive to people with disabilities :) I'd recommend this gym to anyone!

If you've done much research at all on options for physical fitness, your'e almost certainly heard…read moreof CrossFit and may have images of elite Spartan warriors training by tossing boulders, or workouts so extreme that even the super-fit are left lying on the ground heaving. This is not that. Well, not quite... The Garage (formerly located in the East Village) is a fresh operation staffed by knowledgable and friendly coaches eager to share their enthusiasm for all that CrossFit can provide. The focus for training starts with an emphasis on good form/mechanics (safety) followed by consistency and then intensity. Workouts are varied each time to really drive toward a goal of truly functional fitness. I am a long way from Spartan warriorhood, but all the moves and exercises that make up each workout of the day (WOD) can be scaled to my current ability and strength. While many of the members here have carved themselves to elite fitness status, the attitude is far from elitist. I have not walked in once and not been greeted by random gym-goers. There really is a sense of community and support at this gym. If you're looking for a safe way to find your physical potential, The Garage is well worth checking out. This "box," as the CrossFit community calls the gym, is easy access off of Keo Way, just south of I-235 and North and is located where Owen Crist Towing used to be.
