This was an awesome experience. This was my first time paddle boarding and although I am a great swimmer I have my reservations about being on open water and while not being on a boat. Reservation Process Reserving the class was pretty straight forward and easy. The website is pretty seamless for paying for the class and signing up for the time. The communication up to the day was fantastic. It was raining the day I was taking my class and my instructor Amyee reached out to me to keep me posted on any possible changes. The Lesson There was a little bit of rain and and Amyee was keen to ask me if I wanted to move forward as she was happy to reschedule my lesson. I opted to move forward which I don't regret. The rain made the temperature cooler to take the lesson. I Iove Amyee's teaching style. She is super enthusiastic about paddle boarding. Most importantly she is very thoughtful about safety. She was very thorough about what my expectations are and what the strokes were to prep me before going on the water. My favorite part of her teaching style AND taking a private lesson is that she is super focused on making sure that I have the correct form and I'm not starting off with bad habits. Even though I was chatting with her about my life during the lesson, she was extra focused on correcting me to ensure that I have the correct form to operate the paddle board in the most efficient and safe way. After taking this class I'm excited to get out and paddle board more often. Most importantly I'm looking forward to taking more classes with her so that I can gain more confidence with being on open water. Manny just got into an argument on the phone with my wife when she tried to re-schedule the paddle boarding session we booked a few weeks ago. A bad lightning storm prevented a safe launch from Deering Point the other weekend. After riding our bikes from our house to the launch point, we noticed a huge lightning storm roll in. Not feeling safe in the storm, on our bikes, we texted Manny ahead of our scheduled time to let him know we aren't going to paddle in the lightning storm. Manny feels that we somehow disrespected him so he's elected to keep our money without delivering any services. 1. Why is a service provider arguing with my wife and complaining about his drive to the launch location? 2. Does Manny expect customers to paddle in a lightning storm? 3. Does Manny expect customers to wait in a storm for his late arrival so he can feel powerful and in control? I believe this is a valuable lesson for Manny in customer service. My wife would never be able to enjoy the paddle boarding experience with him after he verbally harassed and argued with her. After bringing this to Manny's attention, I told him re-scheduling wasn't an option. I'm not going to put my wife in an uncomfortable position. I suggested he could either keep my money without delivering the paddle boarding experience or he could issue a refund. Manny decided to keep the $175 and change without doing the work. Ultimately, this is a small, minor price for us to pay. We now know that Manny's business isn't professional and we've decided to buy our own paddle boards. When I called them to ask about the waivers, I was told that they will not be able to deliver a kayak to Deering Estate location, even though I have a confirmation. They offered a different location which was more than an hour's drive for me, and I refused. He turned around and said, "Oh I thought you were trying to rent a second kayak, if not then you have rental to go". When I went to the Deering Estate location, there was no Kayak to be found! When I called and asked a refund, he shamelessly said you were supposed to go to the other location, I did not and he would not refund the fee they charged for a service they did not deliver. They ruined my quality time with my daughter, cost me more than half a day, and feel free to steal my money. Did not even respond to my complaints. This is a CROOKED BUSINESS. read more

They provide you with recommendations on where to go, which islands to stop and hang out at, etc. This is the best location to dock from and you can even bring your own personal kayak rather than renting from the place. I booked a private kayak lesson and after 2 confirmation emails and another email asking question and getting a reply, no one showed up for the lesson. I spent a lot of money on Uber and had to contact them through instagram. they said it was a clerical error even after emails confirming and reminding me. Now I can not contact them because no one answers and I had to call my credit card company to refute the charge. in my opinion, this is not a good company. read more

On our way to Miami, someone called to tell us they were canceling our reservation because of high winds AND our group size only half an hour before our start time. He gave us the option to reschedule or receive a refund. We told the employee that we needed to talk to the rest of the group because we were traveling in separate cars to iPaddle at the time. Since we were only planning on being in Miami for the day, we called back and said we decided to take the refund. Suddenly, a refund no longer seemed to be an option. DO NOT go here. They refused to give us a refund after they cancelled on us because of the weather AND because they were ill prepared to handle our group size. Why let us make a reservation in the first place then? What a great place to escape outside and get a water workout, take in beautiful views, spot dolphins and the elusive manatees in North Bay Village. We went for the SUPs (Stand Up Paddle board) and one kayak. As a paddler, I was excited to learn you you can rent lightweight carbon boards and they also offer SUP lessons from a local teacher! My friends and I made a reservation on March 21st. After making the reservation and heading down to Ipaddle, we were contacted by the owner, Manny, saying that he was cancelling our reservation due to high wind. When asking for a refund, he said he could only offer in store credit as a part of the companies policy. This would have made total sense if we had cancelled on them, but since they cancelled on us, we deserve our refund back. It is fraud that they will not give the money back. We were only in town for a couple days after this, and were staying in Fort Lauderdale and did not have time to come back to use any in store credit. I would not recommend this company because Manny is very rude and can cancel your reservation at any point and not give you back your money. read more

This is literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called because I booked a Groupon and specifically said, I noticed it said you need to have a two day reservation but I wanted to go today and noticed that they had availability online. The guy was like, no problem, what were you looking for, and I said 2 hour kayak. He replied, "are you're sure you're reading it correctly? We only have 1 hour." When I looked again I realized the Groupon was only one hour but all their online sales are 2 hour. So I said "oh you're website has 2 hours, so you only do 1 hour on Groupon?" And then I asked if I could just exchange my Groupon for the $50 kayak rental for two people for two hours and I would pay the additional $30. He then was like "are you experienced in kayaking?" I replied not really but that my friend was and he was like like then sorry, you can't come out as I'll only let out club members today" (this was after he already told me I could come out no problem until I innocently pointed out his Groupon and his website had different things and I nicely asked to exchange them for the same Exact price. I would even be giving up any discount from Groupon.) When I said "well we are only here one day , what should I do then", he rudely was like "that's not my problem. Remember the Groupon said you need to book two days in advance. Such a jerk and totally unprofessional that this company takes advantage and lies to people like this to make money. Paddle boarded with DOLPHINS! I had to quickly learn to paddle board and do yoga poses on the board for a shoot. The company sent me out for a last minute private lesson with Bryan. He was AMAZING, patient, and fun. We got the basics down in a calm cove, then headed into the wind towards a small island for more practice and challenging conditions. Dolphins in the distance, then dolphins up close... !!! Fantastic life moment and memory. (Also, I was able to nail the headstand several times for filming. Thanks Bryan!) I have been kayaking atleast once a week for the last 2 years. Prior to checking out ipaddle, I had kayaked everywhere from Oleta to Islamorada.. if there's kayak rentals and water, I have tried it. I stopped shopping around when I came across ipaddle. First off, theres two islands in the area that you can kayak to.. one is a close easy ride and the other is a bit more challenging. You can also kayak under the small bridge and catch beautiful sunsets and an amazing sky line. Ipaddle will even drop kayaks in the water anywhere you want from Miami to the Anne Kolb Nature Center. In addition, Manny is the best and sweetest owner. He is extremely helpful. His kayaks are the most sturdy and easy for learning to kayak.. they turn easily, they move well and they don't tip at all. They are also red so easily seen by boats. His launch spot is great and they have the best equipment by far. When Kayaking at night, some places try to throw you on the water with glow sticks, but ipaddle provides amazing lights that can be seen a few miles away.. and they provide multiple heavy duty lights per kayak. They also make sure to give you brand new batteries everytime you take the lights with you- this is a great safety measure. The best part about ipaddle is the membership. I was so tired of paying 40-50 bucks everytime I got on the water. With the membership you end up paying $10 per hour. You can take your friends and have them use your membership hours or they can pay themselves. They will even do corporate events and take groups out kayaking. Manny and ipaddle are the best kayaking company in Miami. I love that I can go almost anywhere and use the best equipment around, get friendly service and kayak to my hearts content. They also offer single and tandem kayaks and paddle boards. They show you all the best tricks, how to properly get on the kayak. Manny and the guys at ipaddle are truly the best. The other thing is you can go anytime as long as you make a reservation.. that means you can do a sunrise, sunset or full moon without having to book an annoying tour and have to ride at the pace of other beginners in a huge group. Most places won't open early enough for a sunrise or stay open late enough for a sunset, which in Florida is so sad. If you truly love kayaking and paddling like I do, this is your spot. read more
