Although the price was reasonable and the staff was pleasant, I'm not at all satisfied with the battery that iPhix installed in my iPhone. After only 33 charge cycles with an Apple charger, the battery health sits at a very poor 71.5% (according to iMazing) and iPhix has declined to address the issue. It would be unfair to expect the same quality as an OEM battery but the replacement battery is no better -and is possibly worse- than the battery I had them replace. PS I'm leaving my review here because iPhix locations seem to come and go with surprising frequency. read more

Very awful customer service with no owning upto their mistakes. Brought in broken IPAD PRO waited nearly a week to get told that the techs that originally looked at "WERE NOT QUALIFIED" (direct quote) to inspect it and the part was going to cost $949 to fix. Manager said "WE SAID SORRY, WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?". Then "SEE YOU AGAIN!" As i walked out the door being nice but disgruntled. I dont think so. I took my phone in on Thurs., Apr. 12/18 to have the cracked screen replaced. I was told they did not have the parts at the downtown location, so they would send it to their Eau Claire store because the parts were in stock there. They said the repairs would be completed on Friday and I could pick it up at Eau Claire on Saturday. I went out to Eau Claire on Saturday morning to be told it had not been touched yet. They called me Saturday after noon to say they did not have the parts after all, and it would take two or three weeks to come in. On April 26 they called to say it was fixed and could be picked up at Eau Claire. I told them I would not be picking it up until Saturday because I was working. They asked if it would be better if they sent it Downtown. I said no, I could pick it up at Eau Claire, but I would pick it up Saturday. I arrive Saturday at Eau Claire, and they had sent it Downtown anyways. I go back Downtown and explain my frustration to the clerk; no apology is offered for all the time I wasted, no discount is offered to compensate, they had not bothered to fully charge my phone, and they did not even bother to clean their greasy fingerprints off the screen. So far, the phone is complaining that it is taking too long to charge and is advising me that for better results I should use the original charger. I am using the original charger. The scroll speed is VERY slow - more like an IPhone not like a Samsung. It shuts off apps with no warning or switches web pages to random things for no reason. It will be interesting and frustrating to find out how well and how long the repairs hold up. A lot of frustration and the repairs cost a whopping $167.00. Can't say I could recommend this place to anyone. read more

Do not waste your time going to the Avenida Place location. My computer would not turn on, so I took it into them. While they did get it working ($61.95), I learned after that they wiped out all of my software. When I asked them to restore WORD, they accused me of going somewhere else, and claimed that all they did was restore Windows. If that was the case, why did they wipe out my software? 1. They should let a customer know of the possibility of losing software before the work is done - not after. 2. They should NOT accuse a customer of lying, when the technician is confused about his information. Why would I go somewhere else after they fixed my computer when I live across the street from their location? When I told him he was mistaken, he insisted that I did, and asked me to leave the store. Their sign in the window says it all: They're definitely NOT geniuses when it comes to customer service and building loyalty within the community, especially when so many businesses are suffering in Calgary. read more

I replace screens in Edson Alberta, something happed to an Ipad and the back light went out. I saw this place online, and they advertised 7 days repair. I sent them the iPad, $28 return shipping. They called me and told me they received it, 3 weeks later, I called the back and they couldn't fix it. and I was charged another $62.95 for them to attempt. that seriously sucks, my customers iPad mini isn't even really worth what I have shelled out. Used them in the past with no problem but last time when I took in my iPhone X which was working fine but had a cracked screen, started to have issues within 2 weeks of screen repair, took it in again, they did something and 2 weeks later it stopped working and now can not be repaired?! Very coincidental that happened after screen repair. I wish I had a phone with broken screen and $250 cash than nothing! I will not be using them ever again. Brought my sons iPad mini to get screen replaced and they wanted to charge me $150 plus an additional $99 if they found something that needed to be fixed. ( I'm guessing they always find something) Compete rip off, do not bring your devices here. It's preying on people who don't know better. My backlight burned out on my phone last week. I took my phone into Iphix that weekend. Never had any other issues with my iPhone 6S- EVER. They called me a couple days later saying that the backlight had burnt out ( I knew this, when I took it in, I told them that's what was the problem) They also told me I had water damage, and that my screen had marks on it. I've never had my phone in any sort of liquid- not have I ever noticed water marks on my screen. I also got my phone back with 2 black dots to the left of the screen. ( these were also never there prior to me taking my phone in) I took my phone to Apple today where they told me that the 2 black dots were pressure marks from where Iphix must have tried to take my screen off, and that there were no water marks on my water damage sensors. That the screen was ruined by Iphix. Total rip off. when I was telling the associate that these issues were never present before I took my phone in, they said " well we couldn't diagnose it until we took the screen off" I would never go back there. I wasted $100- they fixed the back light and I got my phone back with worse problems. Oh and of course they called and asked me if I wanted to pay $160.00 for a new screen that THEY ruined. SMASH...iPad hits the sidewalk and then AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH goes the 6 year old. Thankfully iPhix had the parts to fix our shattered iPad screen in stock and they were able to turn it around in record time. They even let my son throw the shattered glass in to the bin in the front of the store that shows how many devices they've fixed. I've recommended iPhix many times based on word of mouth. This was our first experience having to use them for ourselves. I was not disappointed! Great customer service!!! read more

The folks at iPhix went over and above for me when my iPhone 4 finally died. Initially they installed a new battery, and when that failed to correct the problem (my iPhone was way too far gone) they refunded the charge for parts and labour. iPhix only charges a $5 assessment fee, uless you walk away with a working phone. $5 is not much when you consider they spent several hours over two days working on my phone. They even went so far as to load my pictures and contacts onto a key drive for me. The staff were courteous, and didn't give me any I-told-you-so's when it turned out that I had caused the problem in the first place. Apparently, using a second-rate car adapter with too high voltage melts your gear. Good to know! read more

This store doesn't stand behind their products. My fiancé purchased a phone case and within less than one month it started to fall apart. The store manager refused to exchange the case for a non-defective product. I would highly dissuade any consumer from doing business with this chain. read more

My iphone power and home button don't work after I changed the battery. Googled the problem and it said most likely damaged the logic board when prying the battery out. I took it to another shop and they tried fixing by changing the wires. The wires didn't fix it and I received my phone back - no charge. I told iphix about this store and they bashed it saying they are money grabbers. Iphix said the problem cant be logic board problem as that never happens and is most likely is cable replacement and that the previous shop didn't know what they were doing If they didn't fix it, there would only be a $30 assessment fee - Who's the money grabbers now? Anyways, I took it to couple other shops for assessment (free of charge), including Phonefreaks (which is highly rated as well). All have said that the problem is the logic board. Not sure why they have such a high rating, but their business attitude is garbage. Would never it there. I brought my Nexus 5 in for a screen replacement, but when I received it back I noticed that the casing had been cracked during the repair, just below the volume rocker. I brought it back into the store to ask about warranty and was told they didn't cover it but they would follow up with their manager and give me a call. After waiting over a week with no follow-up call I called back into the store and although they remembered the issue, there was nothing that could be done for me. Annoyed that they hadn't at least called me back like they said they would, I emailed the manager (Cindy) directly and explained what had happen. She responded almost immediately apologizing for the treatment I had received and saying this was the first she had heard of the issue. After a few emails back and forth she asked if I would bring the phone back into the store to have it examined by one of the senior technicians. I did so, and left the phone with him to take a look at. When I came back to pick it up they had fixed the crack at no charge. So in the end I received the service I believe I should have in the first place, however it took some persistence, as the counter staff, while very friendly, didn't follow up on the problem like they said they would. Cindy was fantastic in all of her response and concern to the issue however, which is the reason I am giving a four star rating and would consider bringing my phone back there for future fixes. I should note that the screen replacement they did do for me was excellent as well, and if it weren't for the cracked casing and issues that followed it would have been a 5 star rating. read more

This is what happened with me: They took my new phone with broken screen for fixing screen, later I receive my phone with faulty screen with white patches at the center. Then they blame my phone for having motherboard issues (my phone was 3 months old) and after a while of conversation they were being rude and asked me they cannot fix my phone. DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM THIS STORE! THEIR PRODUCTS ARE A COMPLETE SCAM I bought an iPhone screen for iPhone 6 in October for 110$ and by March it was completely defective. The screen turned completely black, so I brought my phone in to another repair shop and they told me that the previous store, being iPhix, had sold me a cheap 30$ screen from hong kong. Also, to accommodate this crappy screen that iPhix installed, they had to leave out some screws that put my phone in worse shape. I called them up today to ask for a refund since they overcharged me and sold me a piece of garbage and they said that I only have a 1 month refund policy, so I am out of luck. One of my children was riding a bike with phone in her pocket hoping to "hatch an egg". She rode over a speed-bump throwing a Samsung Galaxy S5 out of her pocket and shattering the glass on pavement. Filled with appropriate level of shame for this Pokémon Go related incident, I took my phone in for glass replacement yesterday. As advised by staff, I dropped it off at store-open and it was ready for pickup by store-close the same day. My whole experience with the iPhix team was excellent. They were respectful, helpful, and patient. The end result is better than I hoped. Thanks for a job well done! read more

Nothing like a bit of Bait and Switch going on here. Dropped off phone with how much will it cost question - returned to find they wanted to charged me 40% more than I was quoted. "Well, we never really gave you an "official" quote and Cindy said to charge more" was the explanation. Then they said - if you don't like it then pay the $30 and take it back broken. Sounds a lot like the shady car repair shops that "quote " you one thing when you drop it off, don't bother to tell you once they open it up what it will actually take, do the work and force you to pay whatever they think they want. Their fix worked for 3 days and then died. Called to ask them what they would do to fix and said "Sorry we don't warranty our work". Can I talk to a manager - no call back. I am out over $100 on crappy work and even worse service. Thanks for nothing. Find a more professional place and skip this one. read more

My POLICY is to never use a company who uses "it's our policy"to hide behind poor business procedures. I was ready and eager to purchase an over priced Iphone 5 battery ($89.00). My phone was disassembled and ready for installation. My only stipulation was if the battery didn't fix my phone that I could return it and I get a refund?. The answer was NO! Now, I was going to plug it in at the counter, in front of the employee, but they said unequivocally NO returns. They did offer that an other employee could plug it in, for an additional $30, and if it didn't work they wouldn't charge me the original $89. Business must be good to turn down a $89 purchase of a $5 battery. The employee smiled and said "it's our policy", I walked out and thought it's clearly not your company. I wonder if the person paying you knows how you treat their customers and their bottom line? Addendum: Went home and purchased my battery online just under $9.00, it will be here in 3 days. read more

This is an update regarding my last review of IPhix. Since posting that review the people at IPhix have come to a solution for the negative experience that I was undergoing. I did receive a discount on my device, as well as a brand new device when they were unable to get the part in quickly which I am incredibly happy about. I did not have to deal with the original manager that I was initially having issues with, thankfully and the new manager that I was dealing with was much more pleasant. He went over and above to ensure that he was able to fix the situation I was involved in. If you do decide to go with IPhix I recommend the TD Square location, the commute is well worth the customer service. I would have updated sooner, I have been busy with school. read more

You're better off going to Apple! I had an iPhone 5S screen replaced by iPhix in June for $199. The replacement screen was presumably a cheap third party screen with a visible defect (a dark line running up the center). I took it back to iPhix and they accused me of dropping the phone and offered no warranty or customer service. I replaced the screen in December at the Apple store for $129. The Apple replacement screen is much higher quality, cheaper and the same as the original screen. This follows up a previous experience I had with iPhix with an iPhone 4. The first screen was defective so I had to bring it back the same day for them to replace! read more

I visited them several times for both iPhone repairs and to buy some accessories. The repairs fell apart more than once so I had to be back and forth as well as their headphones and adaptor stopped working within a few months. They seem to only have poor quality items and parts for repair as. From now on I know in the long run it is actually cheaper to buy quality at the Apple Store. I won't be back ever. read more

Brought my Galaxy S3 in with a smashed screen. They repaired it in a timely fashion but they left glue in it so i had to take it back for another repair. Didnt have anymore parts in so they gave me an unmatched screen and took an extra day to repair. In the process, they also messed up the home button and now it wont turn on at all. Will take them min 2 weeks to get the part in. I had to get approved for a loaner phone and the battery on the loaner lasts about an hr. Not at all impressed. Will not be using them again once my warranty is done. read more

This business is NOT TRUSTWORTHY. I cracked my screen and spent $277 dollars to replace. They tested the phone and returned it to me with a check list stating that everything worked. Shortly after they "fixed" my phone, two touch screen buttons stopped working. I brought my phone in within the 30 days of the warranty (25th day to be exact). I had the glass on my iPhone 5 replaced. It's not the same quality glass that apple uses despite what they will tell you. The phone doesn't respond to touch gestures consistently, often making it unusable. Not long after the repair the glass easily broke again. read more

Went to get my phone display fixed. Within the same day there was a crack under the glass screen in the corner which happened without the phone falling, seems like a bad install. 3 weeks later the phone fell from about 2-3 feet onto laminate flooring, and the screen cracked and display stopped working. The phone was in a defender otter box case and still, the screen cracked, which shows they use very cheap replacement products. When I went to talk to them about it they said there's nothing to do but pay another $180 for a repair. I would recommend staying away from them, pretty obvious they use the cheapest replacement parts and overcharge for their service which has no guarantee. read more

My 6th Gen iPod Classic had a dead battery (which I easily removed). The internet and Yelp reviews led me optimistically to iPhix in Eau Claire as a source of a replacement battery. Sooo...First off, I phoned the store to see if they had the required battery in stock. No answer. I called again 15 minutes later, still no answer...but there was an answering machine so I left a message with my name, number and what I was after. I never received a call-back. However, based on the praise here on Yelp I decided to roll the dice in their favour and battle into downtown to visit the store in person. And sure enough they have the battery. Yay! ...BUT...they won't sell you one!!??? What?!!! Not unless THEY do the battery swap for $49. The battery sells for $20 online and mine was already out of the iPod. Putting a new one in and closing the case is very simple, but nope...you can't buy a simple battery from these people. Ridiculous! Maybe they do amazing battery changes for 49 bucks...I don't know. What I DO know is that they were a mighty waste of time to someone capable of doing their own simple battery swap at a fraction of the price. Walked out empty handed and disappointed. Purchased the new battery online (inconvenient to wait for shipping, but worth it for the money in pocket). Worth repeating...Disappointed. read more

They provided a poor quality screen to my phone. it started showing multi coloured lines on the phone later. Went there after 2 weeks. No one listened to the complain and a person there was very rude. Poor customer service. Very bad experience. Only thing that made me go there was that they had the parts available. They don't use apple certified parts. I go my Iphone 6s's cracked screen "fixed" on my only off day by traveling from Banff to Calgary on Brewster. Came home and realised that the 3D touch went all coocoo. It would think I'm 3D touching while I was just texting and switch apps or would take 5+ tries to 3D touch once. A week later again on my only off day, went there and dropped my phone off at 10am. They said come back at 5pm because they didn't have the parts (7 hours for a repair). I came back at 5. The guy said the new screen they put in was still having issues with 3D tough. So he said he would refund me and put in the original cracked screen in, which I obviously didn't bring with.. So he out in another broken screen on my phone that was presumably from a different customer's broken phone.. The screen they finally put in is in much much worse condition than my original screen, and they still charged me $39 for "service fees".. In the end I wasted over $120 in Brewster bus fees and two full days of on my only off day that I get a week, and I walked out with a phone in worse condition than it was originally after $39 service fee.. The worst part is that there's an apple store at a mall if you take the C train down south ... And they charge you the exact same thing, except at the apple store you would get apple certified parts, not the cheaper versions at iphix that they charge you the same for. read more

I took my iphone to iphix Avenida because my battery was not holding a charge. When I recharged it at home the phone heated up and the screen went black and then white and the home button did nothing. The charge indicator went from 100 to 0 in seconds. Totally inaccurate. I took it back and they replaced the battery again. Same thing happened again with the second battery. I took it back again and the clerk called me at home and told me the battery damaged my iphone. Their terms say they will replace items to greater or equal value. I asked for an upgrade replacement because I made 5 trips to their location for a battery replacement not to mention the stress of a faulty device that I use for my business. I posted my experience on their facebook and the owner claimed I was spamming and threatening. Then she posts that the problem was not their battery at all. I go to the store to get a loaner while they get a replacement. I am expressing my extreme disappointment with their products and service when Cindy offers to call the police and her lawyer. They damaged my property and I paid them to do it and she needs protection from the police and lawyers? They said they would replace my iphone 4s with the same product and then they actually just replaced the motherboard. They gave me an new factory battery instead of the used batteries that they usually provide for $69 instead of the apple batteries that are $99. I will never go to this shop again and I will never recommend anyone to use them either. read more
