Dropped my cell phone and called around to see how much it would cost tor replace a screen on a iPhone 16pro max. Khan was lower by 50% (100.00) compared to some of the others I called. When I brought the phone in he pulled the protective screen out and said it there was no need to replace the screen. He said honesty is the best policy. I hate to write bad reviews, but unfortunately I think my experience should be shared for people to make an informed decision. In July 2024, I started experiencing issues with my charging port and decided to bring my phone into iPhone Repairing since it was so highly rated. Imtiaz helped me fix the issue the same day I brought it in; he had removed the part and replaced it with a new part. Although the charging was not an issue, I noticed that people began to complain about my audio during phone calls immediately after which wasn't an issue prior to getting my phone fixed. An important thing to note is that this is the first time I've had to repair my phone, and so I have ONLY ever gone to iPhone Repairing. I messaged Imtiaz immediately (picture of conversation attached) and brought it in the same week. During the second visit, Imtiaz had gone through a series of trial calls using my phone and his own. He informed me that the microphones used for FaceTime and phone calls were different and it must have worn down over time. I paid no mind to it since he had been nothing but kind during the process & trusted his opinion. This Saturday (Nov. 23), I noticed my phone screen bulging and suspected a swollen battery so I took it into an Apple store immediately. Upon running diagnostics, the Apple employee informed me that there were MULTIPLE things failing on my phone ranging from cell service (cause of audio issues during calls) to the battery amongst other things and had been degrading for a few months. When they had taken a look at the phone to discern the cause, they told us that 1) the security screws were missing which indicated that a third party worked on this phone and 2) that whoever worked on this phone used TAPE instead of adhesive to piece the phone back together after repairing it. Again, important to note that I have only ever brought my phone into iPhone Repairing so it was easy for me to discern the source. I'm keeping this review at 2 stars rather than 1 because Imtiaz was actually very nice and based on reviews seems like he can genuinely help with screen repairs. However, I would not recommend iPhone Repairing's services in battery/charging because of this experience. ADDENDUM post Imtiaz's response: I saw the photos myself of what the inside of my phone looked like-- nothing to do with software all hardware. The components for the battery looked shoved back in and had a piece of tape diagonal across it. I wanted to trade in my iPhone 13 Mini for an upgrade through my carrier ($700 credit), but it had a hairline crack in the screen, which would make it ineligible for the full value. Called and spoke with Imtiaz the owner and he said he could install an aftermarket screen, which would be $89 and good enough for the trade in (with Apple OEM screen would be $150, while Apple charges $229 for the repair). My iPhone dropped out of my blazer pocket while I was pedaling to work and both front and back glass shattered. I spotted iPhone Repairing on Yelp and then scoured their webpage which was easy to understand and accurate in pricing. I didn't make an appointment but dropped the phone off during my lunch and picked it up after work. I'm on day three since the repair and everything seems to be working fine. I paid around $350 and Imtiav recommended I buy the otter box defender for a case. (I had a cheap case that looked nice but wasn't that protective.) Heads up that the shop is not visible from the street.
