Our child was a late talker, so we did our research and found East Bay Child Development Center…read more(formerly PLTA). From intake to our final class, the staff made sure that the scheduling process was a breeze, and that visits did not fall short of expectations. They have an excellent staff dedicated to your child's development, and the office is pristine. Not just clean; very well kept. I noticed that there wasn't one tear on a book or broken toys. They put lots of effort into upkeep, knowing well that toys and books can take a beating with younger kids. East Bay Child Development Center has terrific speech therapists and therapists specialized in helping in all other types of child development, including but not limited to physical therapy, etc. We went through 2 different speech therapists and 1 or 2 therapy students which was a little harder for our son to grow accustomed to because it would take him awhile to warm up (which I've learned isn't unusual for any development therapy center), but each therapist tried their absolute best to ensure they were giving him the utmost care and attention.

That speech is not a good fit for him, that his sister runs around the hallways exploring toys and opened doors of offices, about me get a phone call so they discharged him from services. This is racism and discrimination by the way ladies I want to give you suggestions, your office needs a new administration, organisation and functionality. Everybody there seems to go everywhere, I don't know if these people work here are they clients. The back door to the outside was open, this is called dysfunctional. The office receptionist was like his first day to work, confused and looked around like a lost boy. There four people by office were speaking loud and chatting. They failed my son years ago when he was younger because they said he was not ready for speech when I just changed my insurance to get accepted to come here. Now he's 12 years old saying he's not a good fit. Shame on you to say that to me. You can't discharge him that's illegal. My son is trying with his speech and he has rights in California to receive speech therapy any age. Discrimination by the ability, then age, what's next because his sister running around the office and also I was on the phone? For that lady who spoke with me today over the phone couldn't wait on me. And making me feel like I was being fired from the job, she sounded rude and said my daughter was running around the room and I was speaking loud on the phone so the excuse to fail my son. Then changed her words saying he's not a good fit and he runs fast and wants to push the kids. She needs to find more excuses for her to dismiss him. You don't know how hard and challenging to be a mother of autistic kid. I finally thought I have him his speech going and then you locked me up like shutting my mouth. Go see if your speech therapist is the one who has the problem. She too lazy to give speech therapy or has a lack of skills. This is Shameless and discrimination.

Clean, beautiful architecture, lovely professors who are passionate about what they do. The…read moredisability services (ASC)? Horrendous. Extremely antiquated environment full of staff that are unqualified, discompassionate, AND uneducated about psychological and learning disabilities. WHICH IS THEIR ENTIRE ROLE. The only thing they can seem to enforce is extra test time---which you have to jump through hoops to schedule. This is another barrier for someone with any disabilities that affect executive functioning. The ASC is responsible for advocating for students and finding an equitable way for them to keep up with their classmates, yet is useless when handling unaccommodating professors. The judgment I've faced here by trying to find reasonable accommodations is inane. Why are you being sassy and argumentative with me when I'm asking for help? A high EQ should be mandatory for a role that involves supporting a community that is highly vulnerable to discrimination. The "Accessibility Services Center" is also incredibly disorganized and frequently don't respond to emails. I have to hound them for updates, which is difficult for a student who is already trying to manage their hectic life. They don't seem to be the most cognitively sharp when trying to "help" disabled students, nor well-versed in Section 504 of the ADA... which should be a basic requirement. I know more about my rights than this place knows left from right. The amount of times I've had to repeat a large swath of information from one person [who promised to relay info] to the next that had seemingly no idea what was going on is ridiculous. I've run into multiple people who interrupted me, spoke over me, or made an underhanded remark at the expense of my abilities. I can't tell if Solano is just hiring people off the street to staff the ASC or what. I had a phone conversation with an older woman from the ASC who was supposed to help me formulate a plan to get back on track with school, and she had no advice that couldn't be applied to a neurotypical student. When I mentioned the barriers I face, she gave a long pause and stated flatly that I should "prioritize the class" and "study more". Why didn't I think of that? I could get better advising from a stranger on Omegle. Horrific experience. 1/10

When you have to get your boyfriend to write a positive review then pretend they're a client it…read moremakes knowing whether the rest of the reviews are authentic or not. And if you are good at what you do, why would you have to. I almost hired Jeanie to help me with redoing my resume and consulting on what appropriate places of employment would be ideal to apply to based on the strength finder test. She did make a few changes to my existing resume, but I wasn't impressed. Thanked her but it left a lot to be desired. Red flags definitely went up when she referred to my being empathetic as a negative since Empathy is one of my top 5 strengths. Red flags because there is no weaknesses in your strengths when it comes to strength finder. That's the entire point of the system. Instead of trying to improve weaknesses in a career setting, strength finder teaches how to utilize your strengths. This led me to check to see if she was CERTIFIED by Clifton and strength finder and I learned she wasn't. https://www.gallup.com/learning/certification/en/directory - Her website states she is trained, which in my opinion is misleading. I did find a wonderful CERTIFIED coach and it's a world of difference. They're positive and upbeat and definitely know what they are talking about. I had also hired her for tutoring my son some years ago and to help my daughter with essay writing for college application. While I appreciated her help with my son, I didn't realize she hired college and HS students to tutor the kids while charging the rates that she does. More recently I hired a math tutor for my son, paying the same rate, but it was one on one tutoring, and there definitely was a difference. To each their own, but not the sort of place or person I want to do business with.

Jeanie at Finding Strengths completely changed my son's feelings about himself and learning!…read moreAnother mom recommended Jeanie last summer and my son (then 9) worked with her all summer. My son has significant learning disabilities and is falling through the cracks of public school special education which has led to low self esteem, frustrations, anxiety and even school refusal. He told me with tears in his eyes, "Mom, I'm just not a school person" After a summer with Jeanie, this completely changed! He was excited every week to go! He was excited to start the school year this year and he has been asking me monthly, if not weekly WHEN he can start LEARNING with Ms. Jeanie again! He is so excited to be seeing her again! I am so grateful that he feels so seen and supported by Ms. Jeanie and is starting to believe in himself again!
