It's a lovely family-run business, and you can tell they've been doing this a long time. Everyone is super kind, professional, and incredibly skilled. I've brought in all kinds of things over the years -- scrubs, dresses, shirts, pants -- and they always do a great job. They're very knowledgeable about different fabrics (whether it's thick, stretchy, delicate, etc.), so pricing can vary depending on what you bring in. But they're always upfront and explain everything clearly, which I really appreciate. Turnaround time is fast and they're very punctual, but if you're in a real rush, they do offer a fair upcharge for expedited service. Still, I'd definitely recommend giving them at least a week or two, especially if you've got a dance or special event coming up. They'll let you know right away what's realistic and always follow through. Just a heads up -- it's cash or check only, but totally worth the extra step. Couldn't recommend them more!

Got my Iron Rangers resoled at Fred's. Stitching is crooked on the right boot. Response from Fred's…read morewas the stitching will be strong and not impact durability. OK, but not thrilled since it looks bad. I do't wear these boots too often since I have several pairs. i just noticed they also scraped the leather with the stitcher on the same boot. The leather is actually a little thinner now in this spot. The scrape runs parallel to the welt in an area where normal wear would not cause the scrape. In addition, the scrape shows up in a picture I took immediately after the resole. It appears they covered up the scrape with brown polish or another shoe product. They did not mention any of the issues when the boots were picked up by a family member that lives near Peoria. Do not recommend, and I will not use them again.
