My experience here has been that 'decent' credit only gets you higher-than-normal interest rates, and if your score actually needs attention, you are simply denied. I have a strong income and was taking proactive steps to fix my credit, so I applied for a $10k credit card to utilize their 0% introductory balance transfer program for a $6k transfer. Despite my significant history and the high-balance loans I already hold with them, they denied me. It seems BayPort is only interested in 'People Helping People' if you already have a 720+ FICO and don't actually need the help. I ended up having to take a 35% loan elsewhere just to start my credit recovery. It's a shame that a Credit Union I've paid so much interest to over the years wouldn't lift a finger to help me stay on track. Nothing shows loyalty more clearly than when you are in need and those you have given your loyalty to turn you away like a pennyless beggar. As soon as my credit is back near the 800s, I will be moving all of my business elsewhere. If you're looking for a financial partner that values your total relationship, look elsewhere."
