Booked a tour with this company and I paid 60 euros for them to pick me up at the st. Andrew's church but the tour bus never showed up. There was no tour guides or anyone available and I waited 30 minutes for them to pick me up. No bus ever showed up !!!. I tried calling them in the number provided and of course no one picks up the phone either. I contacted them to issue me a refund back to my card and they said they will not refund back my money when it was the fault of this company !!!! I ended up booking again with paddington wagon company which is much reliable ...... don't trust this company with a tour !!!! While on a visit to Dublin, I wanted to explore some of the country and based on past reviews, signed up for the Cliffs of Moher & Giants Causeway day trips. I don't normally go on tours, and generally prefer to just take public transportation, but due to limited scheduling options I decided to try it out. I will say it wasn't bad for those who prefer tours but it just wasn't for me.The locations (Cliffs of Moher, Giants Causeway & Rope Bridge) on each trip were AMAZING to visit! The limitations placed on how much time was spent at each location and where we would be going, even for lunch, were a turnoff. I would have like more time in a few of the places and less in others but this is a drawback of going on a tour that is on a set timeline. Both of the tours took us to cafeteria style restaurants, the Cliffs of Moher lunch locale had much better food, but this style of dining is just not something I enjoy. Each of the tour guides had positives and negatives, but one stood out in that I felt more like an elementary school student being told what to do and when. The tour guides did provide a detailed history of the area but it was the personal experiences and insight that I enjoyed the most. read more

Really good tour. We did the Cork and Blarney castle tour that included a stop at Cashel Rock. The bus was small and comfy for the most part despite the 3 hour drive out and back. The tour was very good and we were so lucky that there was hardly anyone at the stops including the Blarney castle which we literally walked up, kissed the stone and left. The best part was our driver Bud who was a super friendly Irishman with lots of stories and a very calming demeanor about him. He really seemed to care about our experience and made the experience very easy and organized. Considering the very affordable price, I would highly recommend this tour. read more

My fiance & and were visiting Ireland for the first time in September. It had been a long-awaited vacation for us, so you best believe I had no intention of staying still the entire time. We stayed in an Airbnb in Drumcondra, outside of Dublin City Centre, for the entire 7 days of our trip, which was wonderful. It was like we had just moved right in, which we loved. But we wanted to see all of Ireland and we had a very limited amount of time. So I had planned out 3 days and 3 day trips, all with Irish Day Tours. It was so convenient! They picked us up in the morning in Dublin, we spent all day out and about, seeing the sights, and were delivered back at the end of the day, exhausted, but completely satisfied with the activities. Our first day was the Blarney Castle & Cork. The driver was great. Forgive me, I forget his name, but he was very knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating. We had a wonderful time exploring, and he even brought us to a very old pub called Morrissey's in Abbeyleix, to our surprise, which was great. The second day, we had Angel Gabriel! Gabriel was so fun. He was also super knowledgeable, sweet, funny and accommodating. He even sang to us! I mean, come on! What could make a vacation in Ireland better than having a Irishman serenade you with Irish folk songs?? He took us to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway, which was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Everything about the day was amazing. And, can I just say that Gabriel is the best driver I have ever met! He was able to maneuver that giant bus around the tightest turns I've ever seen! Incredible. Thank you, Angel. You made the second day of our Ireland Adventure one of the best. Lastly, on our third and final day of the day tour extravaganza, honestly we were pretty tired. So I was glad to have gotten John (I'm 99% sure it was John), who took us to Northern Ireland, to the Giant's Causeway & then Belfast. He was by far the most knowledgeable of our drivers. He was spouting off facts like no one's business. And he was clearly born and raised because he has a lot of information to share regarding the separation between Northern Ireland and the Republic, which I found just fascinating. But all of that aside, the Giant's Causeway was the most incredible sight I've ever seen. After that, we got to see Belfast, which had been a dream of mine for a while. I loved it so much, but unfortunately we didn't get that much time there. (Although, John ended up giving us much more time than we were supposed to have). Anyway, I'm going back to Belfast in July because I liked it so much and I want to experience more :) Anyhoo, This is a long review. But basically I just wanted to say that anyone who is visiting Ireland (Especially if you haven't been there before), I would highly highly HIGHLY recommend Irish Day Tours. The prices were affordable, especially for what you're getting, the drivers are simply wonderful, and while it may wear you out a bit (especially if you do it every day like my crazy fiance and myself), you will see all of the magic and beauty that Ireland has to offer, without having to worry about renting a car, driving yourself around, and trying to navigate alone. Extreme Ireland- An Irresponsible and Unfair Tour Company We booked and paid in full for a day tour to Belfast two months before the tour departure. The company is fully aware that we are flying from London to Belfast for the sole purpose of joining this tour as we have to make arrangement to meet the guide in Belfast and the day tour will end with a return trip to Dublin the same evening. We received an email the evening before the tour departure informing us the tour is cancelled without offering any reasons. We tried to change our flight from London to Dublin instead but was unsuccessful. As a result, we spent the day flying to Belfast Airport, finding our way to the City and taking another bus to Dublin and finally reached the hotel we booked. We immediately went to the Extreme Ireland office in College Green to find out the reason of the tour cancellation. The staff told us that it was because they could not obtain a minimum of seven passengers and hence they had to cancel the tour. I enquired why they could not inform us earlier but only the evening before, especially they knew that we have to fly to Belfast specifically to join this tour. Moreover they have collected our tour fare which were not cancellable two months ago. Upon our protest the sale staff maning the counter reluntantly called their manager on the phone. They finally refunded us the bus and taxi fare along with the tour fares that we paid but not our travel costs to Belfast. We tried to speak to the manager but she declined to speak with us. We finally reached a Jeremy who is the Sales Manager in an email and he claimed that when we booked the tour we had ticked the box in a computerised form agreeing to all the terms and conditions, presumably including the tour company s right to cancel the tour at the last minute. I reasoned with him that no customer would take a risk of flying all the way to Belfast without the assurance that the tour will take place. Had this been told to us we would not have taken the risk and paid for the tour. Jeremy however refused to understand and reason. We also proved to Jeremy that we had not ticked any boxes in our booking process as the booking was arranged through email dialogues between us and his sales staff. When presented with all the evidences, Jeremy changed his argument and claimed that we have given our "implied consent" since we took the tour. A reasoning that puzzled us as the tour was never rendered. We tried to ask for the name and contact of the General Manager or owner so that we can bring this matter to their attention. However Jeremy did not bother to respond to our reasonable request. From this episode, we learned that Extreme Ireland is both unreliable and unfair to its customers. The employees that we encountered in this incident are sadly unsympathetic and unprofessional The purpose of this review is to highlight the risk a potential customer may face that he or she may not be aware of. read more

So let me start by saying that by my own fault and ignorance I missed my intended bus tour for the Giant Causeway tour. I thought my day was ruined and I had just blown 70 Euro. As other tour busses arrived, I flagged Jennifer down from Irish Day Tours and explained the situation. She looked at my travel partner and I for a second and then down at her booking sheet for the Corke tour and asked if we would like to join her tour since ours had left. Without hesitation we said yes. And let me tell you that she made the tour exceptional even though the Irish weather was uncooperative. Her driver Bill was also a great deal of fun. I took two day trips from Dublin with Extreme Ireland. The first one I took was to Cliffs of Moher and Galway with Barry. He was hilarious and he kept us on time for a jam-packed day. The following day I took a trip south to Blarney and Cork. Our guide Matthew couldn't have been more knowledgeable and passionate about Ireland's history. He was incredibly laid back and super friendly. Both tours offered something I would not have experienced had I decided to drive on my own or take a train. Despite the long days, there were plenty of stops along the way to keep us energized, but also down time on the comfortable coach to rest. I can't believe these guys aren't listed in Yelp yet, but Extreme Ireland helped make Ireland a very memorable trip for me! The four of us girls randomly stumbled upon this tour company after not being able to find the tour office of another company we were looking to book with and saw their office instead near Trinity college - and we're really glad we did. Incredibly fun tour thanks to our guide/driver/entertainer/performer all in one Mike, who filled us in on culture, history, folk songs all while driving and touring us. (I leave Ireland knowing how to sing along to 2 folk songs thanks to our guide), took the time to drive us to additional spots on the tour when the Cliffs of Moher was too windy for us to stay too long at, and showed us an incredibly delicious (best meal I had in Ireland) little rural bar for lunch. Great price - they also have student discounts, and definitely worth the money. I'm not sure how the other guides are, but ask for Mike if you want a wicked fun tour with lots of Irish folk songs on karaoke. read more

We went on the Blarney Castle day tour. The tour was very interesting and fun. When we left the bus for the day, my friend left her backpack on the bus. We immediately called and emailed the number provided on their website but no one responded. The next day, we finally got ahold of someone who said she would get in touch with the lost & found manager. We called back 3 more times but they never responded back with the whereabouts of the backpack or any information. They also said they wouldn't mail it if they ended up finding it after we left (we had a flight the next day and offered to cover the mail fee plus extra). Good tour but bad customer service afterwards. Very unorganized customer service. read more

Did the one day Cliffs of Moher tour. It was fantastic, no regrets. Our driver was entertaining and informative. All stops were well timed and a good duration. My one only complaint / warning is to get to the meeting spot extra early and pay close attention to make sure you're in the right spot. Many tours start at the same time and some of the larger busses were around the block from the designated spot. If you're not paying attention and asking, you might be left behind. My best friend and I were recently in Ireland for a long overdue vacation. We booked what we thought was a trip to Cork and the Blarney Stone with a scenic train ride along the coast back. This however was not what we booked (through a third party-totally our fault). So needless to say I was a little upset as this was my most awaited day of the whole trip and happened to be our last of an eight night stay. Wayne, our bus driver and tour guide, however, unknowingly turned my mood around. He was funny, informative and not your typical cheesy tour guide. He cracked jokes on everyone and everything to help pass the time on the drive as well as gave some history on a country he obviously loves very much. This is why I say I wish I had done the tour on my first day - the recommendations we received were amazing! He knew where to eat, where to get an amazing Irish coffee (again wish I knew this earlier on in the trip) and what to see and where to go. If I had met Wayne on the first day of my trip I think I would have been able to pull a lot more of the history I love about Ireland out on my trip and not just taking in the beautiful scenery that this country has to offer. My friend and I both agreed that if had it been something we had done earlier on in the trip we would have booked another. (Mind you we are not the tour kind of people, we rented a car and drove ourselves around.) I wish I had brought something to write on so I could jot down all of the books and movies he told us about. My only regret is not doing that or getting his contact info so I can get it from him at a later time. You will get the experience you want on one of these day trips, you want the best views Wayne (or I'm sure any other guide) will tell you where to get them, you want history they're happy to share it with you and tell you where you can go to get some more. You want to be left alone to do your own thing go ahead walk away from them just be back at the bus on time. What started off as an unfortunate event turned into some really great craic thanks to Wayne and Extreme Ireland day tours. Oh a little side note about the company - we had three people who signed up for the tour, two women and a gentleman in a wheelchair. The women thought the driver (Wayne) would be able to assist him getting on and off the bus. This is not allowed by law and Wayne explained that to them making sure they understood he wanted them to come on the tour and unfortunately there was nothing he could do. But he did call his boss and see if they could do something. They decided to set them up with a private tour in a luxury car opposed to a bus the following day. You would think that was enough for one day but then the bus has a technical issue. Right outside of Cork one of our brake pads dislodged and became stuck somewhere it doesn't belong. Wayne got us into a gas station just down the road and again called the office. They called a local bus company who lent them a larger coach bus for the day. In the half hour forty-five minutes we were 'stranded' Wayne checked up on every person to make sure we were okay and apologized profusely. He made a couple of jokes, chatted everyone up, and made sure the time passed quickly. As if that wasn't enough we stayed on schedule and weren't rushed out of single stop or felt as if we lost had lost time at all. read more

Whether you're a first time visitor (like me) or just looking to get outside of Dublin, I cannot say enough good things about my experience on the Cliffs of Moher tour. Our tour guide, Mike Murphy, was hilarious and so knowledgeable about all the things we saw and did. In addition to learning about the country, it's history and the sites, Mike taught us about local slang, several Irish songs and local folklore. If you're not planning to leave Dublin, change your plans! The Irish countryside is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and my trip to the cliffs was by far the highlight of my entire trip to the UK. My mom and I took 3 day trips (Connemara, Cliffs of Moher, and Giant's Causeway) with them last fall, and these tours were the highlight of our Ireland experience. I love how each tour guide has their own personality and way of organizing/structuring the trip. David, who took us to Connemara, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about the area's flora and fauna. In a past life, he owned a landscaping business and you could definitely tell his depth of experience when discussing the landscape of Connemara. John Patrick was probably my favorite out of the three because of his sense of humor and kindness. During most of the drive to the Cliffs of Moher, he would sing (and very well I might add), crack jokes, and tell Irish folk stories. At the beginning of our trip, he spent some time helping some tourists (who were on the wrong day trip) and ensuring that they made it to the right bus. Wayne was organized and made sure everyone was on time. The bus was spacious and very comfortable. All in all, we had fun in all three trips and highly recommend this company! As for the view, the memories of the Burren and the Giant's Causeway will forever be one of the best moments of my traveling life! Never before have I seen so much green unspoiled beauty! We had a great tour to the Cliffs of Moher. I researched renting a car and it was super daunting with insurance issues and driving on tiny roads on the wrong side of the road. If you are by yourself or with just one other person this is clearly the way to go. Our guide was super nice and we stopped at very interesting places and they gave us a full 1.5 hours at the Cliffs so we didn't feel rushed. The only way to improve the tour would be to have a little more commentary on the three hour trip back. Our guide was basically silent that whole part and it would have been nice to get a little history, folklore, etc. Bonus for suggesting the free walking tour though, we did that the next day and loved it. read more

We absolutely enjoyed ourselves on the tours and would highly recommend this company for day tours out of Dublin. We had limited time to plan our trip and wanted the ease of day tours so this option worked out perfectly. Very disappointed in Irish Day Tours and the way they handled the extreme weather. The Cliffs of Moher tour was booked and we were so excited. However, extreme weather caused the Cliffs of Moher park to close. Orange warnings of gale forced winds were put in place across the entire country, yet, Irish Day Tours did not cancel. Again, the Cliffs of Moher was closed, yet the tour remained scheduled. The storm scheduled to cover the entire country, and the tour company was irresponsible enough to take people out into it, simply so they didn't have to grant refunds. They claim since I was a "no show" I cannot be refunded. If I would have arrived at the meeting point, at 6AM in the blustering rain, even knowing the Cliffs of Moher park had already closed, I would have had to choose to attend the alternative tour planned or forfeit my money. I would not trust my safety with a company that chooses to take people out onto the road with extreme weather warnings in place. VERY FRUSTRATING loss of money. Think again before trusting your safety and money with this company. read more

We took the day trip to the Cliffs of Moher and it was amazing! The drive to the countryside was so scenic and beautiful. Our driver Gared was very knowledgeable.He knew when to talk and also when people wanted to take a nap or just enjoy the scenery. We did plenty of stops to use the restroom or grab a snack which was great. We enjoyed all the stops but my husband and I agreed that we could've done without the stop at Galway. I would've preferred to have used that time at the cliffs. Overall it was a great experience and a perfect way to see the countryside! read more

My grandma, mother and I decided to tour the castles while we were in Ireland and it was an amazing experience. Not only were the castles amazing to see and the views magically but our tour guide, Leo, was the absolute best. He was extremely knowledgeable about Irish history. Leo was also a huge help when it came to my grandma's wheelchair. He helped push it up the steep hills and over the cobblestone when my mom and I struggled. He even told us how to turn on the hot water at our Airbnb so we didn't have to take cold showers. We had booked 3 day tours which were Giant's Causeway, Cliffs of Moher and Cork & Blarney. Our first tour was Giant's Causeway with a smaller group and the driver was very informative. Cannot remember his name but he did have a female trainee with him. Lunch this day was not good at all. Second tour was Cliffs of Moher with Bud and he was great. Bud was very informative and entertaining along our very long day. The morning was hectic as everyone is literally running around in the morning trying to find a bus to get on since they were all full. Not a great way to start off the day and definitely not Buds fault. Lunch was really good but the place was busy with all the other tour bus companys. Our third tour to Cork & Blarney, we were lucky enough to get Mike Murphy as our driver. We loved Mike Murphy!!! He is awesome, very informative and entertaining! He sang Happy Birthday to our daughter Marilyn Monroe style. He recommended some local Pubs to us that turned out great and off the tourist path. We still talk about Mike Murphy! The trips themselves were fantastic! Be prepared for very long days but there are plenty of opportunities for bathroom breaks and to buy snacks. The tours are a great way to see a lot of the beautiful countryside. The buses are kept clean and good shape. Would recommend to anyone to use Extreme Ireland. read more

Me and 9 of my friends really wanted to do a day tour over to the Cliffs of Moher and we came across Extreme Ireland. We hoped on the bus at 6:50 in the morning and it was the best day of our trip by far. Our driver was Mac, he was extremely nice as well as entertaining. He was respectful when everyone was asleep but while we were awake he would sing traditional Irish songs. The tour bus was extremely comfortable and the gorgeous scenery definitely helped the time pass. I would highly suggest doing the Cliffs of Moher tour through Extreme Ireland if you are looking for an informational and fun day out of the city! read more

Any way, we just got back from traveling around the UK and the 1 day bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher with Extreme Ireland (and tour guide Joey) was FANTASTIC! We learned so many interesting facts, songs, etc and didn't feel rushed for one second of the trip. The scenery was beautiful (as to be expected), but the ease of the tour and the hospitality by Joey topped everything off. I'm a seventy-year-old American male who enjoys hiking in Ireland. Over the past three years, I've booked three tours with Extreme Ireland: a self-guided walk of the Dingle Way with an old friend three years ago, and this year the Giant's Causeway day tour and the Southern Gem guided hiking trip. The Dingle Way arrangements and the Southern Gem were outstanding, and the Giant's Causeway, good. For the Dingle Way, my old Marine Corps friend and I were picked up at Shannon Airport by Emily McCullagh, an Irish artist. She talked about the countryside we drove through, pointed out public art sculptures in roundabouts, and remarked on Irish politics and her admiration for Mary Robinson. Extreme Ireland provided maps for the walk, b & b reservations for each night, and transporting of our suitcases each day. All the b and b's were good, but one Jimmy Bruic's Coil an Roiss in Ballyganeen was brilliant, one of the nicest places I've stayed in Ireland, and Jimmy is an exceptionally charming host. We stayed two nights in Dingle at the Lantern, where Katharine Keane provided good conversation and an interesting pub recommendation, O'Currain's just a couple of doors up the street where Oliver Mack engaged us in good craic. The barkeeper joked that Oliver hung out there and another pub, but we ignorant Yanks didn't realize the joke about the owner of Dick Mack's. Katharine also arranged our Blasket Island boat trip. The hiking was excellent, with only a couple of patches of rain and warm weather for May. We were pleased to find Emily with her car waiting for us at 0630 at our b & b in Castlegregory so we could make our Shannon flight with time for shopping in the duty-free and also have fun talking with her about our adventure. I took the one-day Giant's Causeway tour this May. Bud, our driver-guide, was an older Irishman, who provided solid historical commentary on the trip North and some insightful personal stories on the Troubles and his experiences. He provided a helpful rest stop on the way, organized our group so we could spend time at the Carrick a Rede rope bridge and the Giant's Causeway; in fact, he organized an order-ahead system for the pub at the Causeway so we could dine immediately and spend as much time on the rocks as possible. The tour made a quick photo stop at Dunluce Castle and an hour stop in Belfast, where Bud arranged for a small group to take the Black Taxi Tour. It's a solid tour, but a long drive in one day. Best of all, however, was the Southern Gem, a guided hiking tour of the Wicklow Mpuntains and the Southwest. The guide, Toni O'Brien, was absolutely brilliant in planning her own version of the tour, paying attention to everyone in the group, adjusting to circumstances including some weather, and entertaining us with personal experience stories, reminiscences of girlhood hiking and biking adventures in the areas we visited (including an encounter with an IRA squad in the Wicklow Mountains), and putting together daily picnic lunches. The b and b reservations were solid, comfortable, and clean (but no match for Coil an Roiss of the Dingle tour). We climbed Mt. Brandon on the saint's feast day with Toni adjusting the route so we finished going down the Pilgrims Route rather than repeating the rock scrambling of the glacial cirque on the Cloghane side. Because of weather she changed our Carrauntoohil plan to a milder hike through the Gap of Dunloe and an open boat ride on the Lakes of Killarney. We climbed over three fences to walk along the Cliffs of Moher to Doolin. The adjusted plan included the Rock of Cashel with enough time to hear Sean MacMannus's lecture tour of the site, a great dinner at Lord Baker's in Dingle, and a long walk in the Burren. And Toni worked in a whirlwind tour of medieval Galway on the final day. She also made special arrangements to help two of us stay on Inishmore and took the rest of our group back to Dublin. With over 3,000 reviews for this company, it almost seems silly to leave a review, JUST GO! I am currently living in Cork for the next few months and was visiting a friend in Dublin, we are both without cars but wanted to see the cliffs. My friend browsed online and found this place (with coupons and student discounts!) we booked online and arrived about 20 minutes before the bus was to depart. It was a fabulous tour led by Jim (I think that was his name and I will feel really bad if I got it wrong but shout out to Jim!!) The tour included a few stops along the way to the cliffs and a few stops on the way back. One of the stops included the Obama Plaza, it washed away any homesickness I had at the time. After a quick comfort stop we were on the way to the cliffs. When we arrived it was a bit rainy and cloudy, we did a quick lap in the gift shop and museum and it had cleared up. Then we were on our way to the quaint town of Doolin. It was so magical to drive through the country side and look out from your comfy bus seat. Some tips: When the bus driver says to be back at noon to go to the next stop, for crying out loud, please be back at 11:58. Some people were taking their sweet time to get back to the bus, which shortened our time at other places and pushed back our return time to Dublin. People, please remember it is not all about you. Another thing, please remember this is Ireland, and the weather is cold and damp all the time. Do not have high expectations for a sunny and clear day, in fact, expect the opposite so when you do get the clear skies it makes the experience that much better. Took my first tour today and the tour was good but should have come with more of a warning about the climb at loughcrew. The guide was really good. The reason I only gave 3 stars were because of the missing info about the climb, the buss was rather cramped and quite a bit smaller than what was expected, I booked 4 tours ahead of time and then today the guide states that if we book 2 or more tours there would be a 12 euro discount that I did not receive, one of my pick up locations was not available online so I had to go to the office to find out were it was and the girls working were too busy visiting with their friend to answer me with more than a go outside turn right and turn left. I had to press for more of an answer and got it begrudgingly. read more
