I have taken all my body repair business to Burl at Ives Auto Parts for the last 10 years. I always…read morereceive excellent service and quality work. They do the extra things that you dont get other places. We just had my wife's car repaired there and when we got the car back, it was spotless (inside and out!) and looked great!! Richard Gramling

Recently I took my car in to have some chips in the paint on the hood of my car taken care of. When my car was picked up, the quality of work was extremely poor. The paint looks like it's blobbed on, or has rust coming through from underneath the paint. Also, the paint looks like it was old and tacky when it was applied. It wasn't smoothed out, level and wasn't anywhere near the professional quality I expected from them. I asked them to address a small concern or rust but yet they didn't get it all when touching up the paint. When I called the following day to have my concerns addressed, I was basically blown off and offered my money back with a very arrogant attitude. I was told that a "brush touch-up" isn't perfect and that many customers don't understand what that is, but yet it wasn't explained to me. The issue I have now is that I'm now going to have to pay more money to have the hood sanded down where the paint was applied so heavily and have the entire hood repainted due to their neglect and disrespect to my vehicle. I was quoted by another shop around 300-500 depending on how much they have to sand down the hood. I would NEVER recommend Ives to do service for anyone.

This is an updated review several weeks after I visited for service. To keep it short and sweet, my…read moreAC went out. I took it to Phil's to have it fixed. I paid about $400 for the repair on the AC initially, which didn't fix the problem. I took it back and was quoted and ADDITIONAL $1,500 to replace the compressor. (That would have made this an almost $2,000 air conditioning repair.) Industry average cost is less than half of what they quoted me. I took it to another professional and had it done for $500, where they found another issue with the AC that Phil's either never mentioned or never found. I brought up my gripe with Kris directly and was met with hostility. The shop wouldn't communicate via text or email and instead responded to my requests for explanation of costs only by phone or in person, which I assume is because Kris wanted twist words to spin the narrative. To quote him, "Don't you remember me saying x, y, z." It genuinely felt like I was being gas-lighted and manipulated into feeling "wrong" for questioning their pricing and being upset that they charged me $400 for something I didn't need. I would never send someone to Phil's Undercar after the experience I had there. I'd suggest you avoid them like COVID-19. (Which their staff didn't seem to be bothered by enough to wear masks, by the way!)
