I would drive to and call dance studio after dance studio, but they would either not offer adult classes or their adult hip hop classes were taught by contemporary or jazz dancers. It just wasn't what I was looking for. One day, one of these jazz dancers teaching the hip hop class told me about VYB and Demario Henry. Once I took my first class at VYB, I was disappointed in myself for not finding this place sooner! VYB is THE PLACE for adult dance classes in Tampa. They offer a variety of dance styles for beginner, intermediate, and advanced dancers with, in my opinion, some of the best dance teachers in the state of Florida. Last year, after multiple back-and-forth emails, I was finally told she couldn't take the classes she wanted. This year, I went in person and was told she would get a tryout, but instead of scheduling it, I was asked to email again in two weeks. As a customer, I shouldn't have to keep chasing the school for updates or appointments. A well-managed business should collect my information, follow up, and make the process easy. Unfortunately, I felt like my time and interest didn't matter. Because of this experience, they have lost us as customers and I hope who read this message doesn't become a customer either.

I was SUPER excited to take the Bachata class here. In June I made several attempts to get additional information because when I registered I didnt receive confirmation that my registration took. I drove up to the studio during "business" hours and both times there was no one there. I called and no one picked up. I finally got through to the instructor via Facebook she was short and rude in her messages and I had to ask the same question multiple times before getting an answer. I was unable to attend the July session and was planning to attend the August session that happen to start in the middle of July. Unfortunately I had premade plans on the day classes started but I went to the next class only to encounter the instructor who was very rude face to face and informed me that the canceled the entire August class. I would not have known that had I not gone up there as this establishment does not believe in communicating properly and only communicates when they feel it to be convenient to them. Needless to say I was entirely bummed and I will be looking for a different studio for dance lessons. I do understand the instructors frustration, however, I hope that she understands how equally frustrating it is to be a paying customer and having to jump through hoops to get a response from her in order to attend her classes!! I wasnt going by myself we were coming in as a group and all of us experienced the same interaction with her.

I respectfully explained the situation to the owner, Corinne, and was denied a refund because that's "company policy." I understand there are policies in place, but as a business owner, she should be able to evaluate the situation individually, and recognize it as an honest mistake.
