BUYER BEWEARE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RENTING A STORAGE UNIT FROM THEM IF YOU NEED TO VACATE THE UNIT IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS. Most storage places, which are just as secure, don't ask for 30 days. It is in the lease that you have to give 30 days. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere where you don't have to give 30 days. I couldn't find my lease and now I'm stuck paying for a month I didn't need, which is a financial hardship for me. That is why I want to warn other people not to rent from Iron Gate Storage if you are not prepared to give 30 days' prior notice. Termination of the lease also has to be in writing. The property manager was also not helpful and had a snarky attitude. I signed up online. My storage unit was supposed to be ready that day. I went and there was a temporary lock on it. This was my first experience renting a storage unit, so I did not know it was temporary. The property manager was snarky and rude and told me it easily broke off. That was not true! We had to use something to break it off. The property manager also told me I needed to stop by the office and provide proof of rental insurance and a copy of my driver's license. If they did their research, they would have seen that I signed up online and already provided that information. Also, if you do not buy a lock from them (you can buy your own), they put one in your storage unit then threaten to charge you if you do not return it within a certain amount of time. When I signed up online, it asked you if you want to buy a lock from them or bring your own. I indicated I would be bringing my own. Again, they did not do their research. read more

BEWARE. I am a very long term renter at this facility but in the past year or so there have already been several rent increases, ever since their new management company took over. Now, the latest rent increase was for more than 20 percent i was just advised by the Oregon State Housing Authority that (per state rent control laws ) the most any landlord, this includes storage facilities, can raise the rental amount in a single calendar year is 7 percent plus inflation or 10 percent, whichever is lower. It appears that all Irongate cares about is the money at this point and not so much for renter loyalty... may have to go to the Better Business Bureau sadly... read more

BEWARE! Our unit was broken into and when they realized our lock was missing, instead of contacting us about it, they put one of their locks on it and never told us. Months later, we come back to find our unit with a different lock on it and when we go in to find out why, they said they had no note of it, but that it was definitely one of their locks. They opened up our unit for us and we find several things missing AND our lock inside that was bolt cutted. Now, because they never contacted us, we won't be able to look at their video surveillance because it cycles through. Very unprofessional and I will never recommend this place to anyone due to their negligence. EDIT: if you decide to go with this godforsaken storage unit, make sure to have a detailed list of everything you have in the unit because if it gets broken into, you have to list everything missing that very day. No going back and remembering what else was stolen because they are that unprofessional. We have realized we have at least $1000 worth of stuff missing that we won't get money back for because we just remembered it. AND THEN, because this totally makes sense, if you're unit gets broken into, you will lose your insurance on it, because that totally makes sense. read more

So we needed a close by secure spot to store our 38 ft toyhauler. Contacted these folks to inquire about spacing. First of all trying to get in contact with someone who actually works "onsite" was virtually impossible. Secondly, once we were able to visit the Beaverton location we were appalled, looks like they run a junk yard out of there so called Rv parking area. I used to store my boat and a towing pickup truck still attached to boat trailer for many years. Few years back, I had my truck broke into and stolen tools. fee weeks later, the boat broken into the cuddly. Two months later, truck broken into and missing radio face. When I asked a video on surveillance camera, I was told since the crime occurred at night that the camera would not show clear picture since it is not a night vision camera. Well then what is the point to claim secured storage if the cameras they have are not effective at night. It is a security fraudulent at best. read more

Years ago, when I got my first storage facility in North Carolina, I thought, this shouldn't be difficult. After all, I'm basically renting a garage for my stuff, it's not that big of a deal. Years later, I've been to enough storage facilities to know that this was a deeply naive view. I've had storage facilities fail to process my monthly fees, give me a hassle when I try to move my stuff out, and sock me with some serious late fees (I've got a memory like a steel sieve). Iron Gate Storage is as simple as storage seems like it should be, period. The people at the front office are helpful and laid back, payment online was easy, and when I inevitably forgot, it was easy to quickly pay and get access to my stuff--I had it sorted in 5 minutes. When I eventually found a place large enough to store my stupid amount of stuff, moving out was just as easy as moving in--no hassle, and last-minute notification of my leaving was no problem. If I ever need to store anything ever again, you guys are first on my list. read more

These folks operate very shady. Contacted them over a month ago regarding financially hardshipped due to the Coronavirus pandemic. My fiance was laid off and we are receiving no income except my disability, so requested if they could discount the monthly storage fee until the situation subsides. No response. Weeks later received email about canned food donations, but nothing about my dilemma. Called again, finally spoke to Kaylee at the Beaverton office, she sounded like a robot; no resolve. She told me no late fees and no auction but I needed to pay April's rent; no deduction in fees as of yet. Asked why no contact per my email to her much earlier. Lied and said she didn't get it. Contacted the Vancouver office, spoke to Samantha week of April 26, she said would pass on my concerns to corporate office. No response from corporate. Contacted Kaylee again today to make payment for April fees, this way I would be caught up as May's is not late for many more days; more extreme robot treatment, but also in violation of federal state regulated business guidelines, told me that I had to pay $180 today, not just April's rent. Told her I was not late, but she operates fraudulently scamming and using fear, intimidation tactics that I must pay balance in full when May is not late. Contacted Vancouver office again, spoke to cheating Samantha again, which she said that's their policy and that I must pay $180. If I am hardshipped because of Coronavirus, how am I to pay $180?? These folks are bigots, discriminatory by race and disability, and unlawful in their business practices. I again called the so-called corporate office which is probably right where dishonest, nickel and diming Samantha is; no call back, only a voice mail each time I called. I read up on them on the Better Business Bureau, appears they routinely scam and unnecessarily hardship, victimize their should-be valued customers. Contacted the court and there is a way to file a lawsuit for various damages even in this pandemic time; filing informa pauperis. These folks are sleazy bigots and bottom-of-the-barrel business scoundrels. Will be following up with other civil rights and law enforcement, judicial agencies. It's so sad that at a time like this when everyone should be helping and adjusting old business, personal habits, that these folks think they are going to Bogart their evil behinds and screw good customers over while more than likely making efforts eventually to steal their property the customers entrusted in their care for a long time. They are not making adjustments, discounting fees, working with their customers -- no, all they want is money. Definitely not from God, but the other red meat. It's awful I have to expend so much energy just to make a payment that would have brought my account current. Everyone need to file legal actions against these monsters until they change their behavior and/or make adjustments from their old shady way of doing business. I am disabled and right now, my conditions have been exacerbated by way of this tragedy. The decent efforts are not working... read more

This place doesn't seem very secure. Didn't see any security and the cameras look like they have blind spots. I wouldn't trust this place with my stuff. Plus, the management at the desk was rude to my husband and I when we asked about the security there. They are called "Iron gates" after all, but their security seems mediocre at best. read more

I was totally disappointed and disgusted when after storing my family heirlooms at Iron Gate Storage in Beaverton that I found an infestation of rodents had ruined EVERYTHING. I was required to purchase a "Protection Plan' at an additional $10 per month which only covered $500 loss. I lost nearly $5,000! Had my belongings with them for nearly three years. I would not recommend them to store anything you want kept safe and secure! read more

There are some electronic problems - one time the gate would not open. Also, when I've tried to pay online and by phone, my payment would not process. Then, when I took the same bank card into the office, my payment was accepted without any problem. No compensation was offered for the time the gate didn't open. I don't know if other storage companies offer compensation in a circumstance like that I like the space. read more
