We purchased a floor model hoping to keep things simple, relatively lower cost and expedite install. Not the case. You will likely need to reach out the store to keep things moving. They use a sub for the plumber and you will be at the mercy of one person's schedule to get your install completed. Our order was placed mid October requesting a pre-Christmas install. These people only want to sell you something. They will lie about helping you with the installation. Their installer is not experienced enough to help out with masonry concerns and you'll end up with other unexpected charges for the installation. My senior mother purchase a $3,000 unit from them a few years ago. This week she reported issues with the blower and decided to shut the unit off for fear of doing additional damage. She called Iron House several times, no one answered. When a representative finally did answer told her, "we don't have time for you." Then the woman on the other end asked my mother to call back another time, which she did. And when my mother called back she was rudely told they could be at her house in 3 days with a $200 service call. $200 for just coming out to the house! Heat is now pretty minimal in the house. I am SHOCKED with how poorly my mother has been treated. It seems that since they got her $3,000 they seem to think they can behave as rudely as they want to their customers. Based on this, I would recommend folks find another dealer on Cape Cod. read more

Bought a pellet stove on a Friday and was told by Wendy she would call me later that day to confirm delivery in 8 days on a Saturday. No call, I waited till the next Friday and I called them and was told they would call me back before the end of the day to confirm Saturday delivery. No call. It's delivery Saturday and I still have not heard from them. I guess these reviews are accurate the service disappears after the sale. read more

I have just finished reading the reviews on the Iron House and really had to laugh. the one I find most ludicrous is the woman that purchased a "Fireplace"( Ruth gail C) June of 2014. I have to just ask, if you bought a fireplace for your home, did you really think it would magically appear in your home and deliver heat or did you think that you possibly had to have a professional install it, and do you think that the instalation should be free? Grow up for God's sake, you cant get a TV from BestBuy delivered dn installed for free. And as for "Bob W" I looked at the store in Plymouth, and found their products to be of substantially less quality and more money, my impression is higher margins..... I have done busuess with Weldy, who by the way is not a man, is in fact a woman....for years, recently had the blower motor of my Harmon Advance go after 6 years, she immediatelty had Phil and the boys over to my home, which by the way I am comfortable enough to leave open for them so I dont need to be inconvenienced and it gets the job done faster. Additionally Phil has serviced my stove every year, I leave the house open as I said earlier and when he leaves the house is immaculate, the rug is spotless, the stove is cleaned, painted, and the chimney pipe is cleared. And finally I liek their service sop much, I brought my son ina nd he purchased a gorgeous enamel fireplace woodstave insert whiche was installed perfectly, and YES folks, you pay for the instalation and the delivery, the damn things weigh 400 lbs, will that fit in your Accord? In summary, I disagree vehemently with the statements of the reviews below, I find the people, the products and the service to excel frankly, and would do business nowhere else but there. read more

I had a terrible experience. I bought a fireplace and was not told about the huge delivery charge or the the outrageous installation fees. The fireplace is now working but the pilot light is always visible and it throws off an unacceptable amount of heat at all times. When I complained I was told that is the way it was designed. Have been unsuccessful in reaching the manufacturer. read more

Update: We had yet again another issue with Carbon Monoxide in the house where the fire department needed to be called in the middle of the night (Feb 14th) and the stove shut down...no heat. I got an expert installer out to the house and learned that the stove was in fact installed incorrectly based on Harmon Guidelines and the issue was that the vents for air and output were installed too close together resulting in carbon re-entering the house. We had to re-install the whole thing costing significant $$$ - However, the money is not the issue anymore...its the fact that twice now we could have been dead due to the installation of this stove. Thank GOD we have properly working Carbon Monoxide detectors. Don't mess around...if you have a Pellet stove, you gotta have detectors...and please never ever use this company to install your stove. read more

I recently contacted Iron House to come look at my older Vermont Castings wood stove. We setup a time and date. They called me the day before to reconfirm. Then on the morning of the appointment they showed up on time. Nick was absolutely fantastic on the cleaning of both my stove and chimney insert. He was polite and professional. His coworker, Ms. Hopkins was just as professional. We discussed what was being done and what needed to be replaced and serviced. Once this was done and the cleanup was done. There was no evidence of them even being there. I was very impressed and look forward to working with them again for all of my wood stove needs. In fact, I contacted them this morning regarding some replacement parts and they are diligently searching for what my stove needs. I am truly impressed with them. I really have very little good to say about this business. Although they have a nice array of merchandise in the showroom and were at least initially relatively helpful in helping pick things out we did have some problems seeing the full array of options and had to make our purchase without as much information as we might otherwise have liked. The main problem came during the installation. When the fireplace was delivered it was the wrong model and a significant amount of time passed before the Iron House staff would come to remove this. At this point we wanted to cancel our order since they seem to be making a lot of mistakes and had delivered the wrong model. They were extremely reluctant to offer a proper and full refund and I was $1000 out of pocket so that the matter had to be disputed with the credit card company. When I attempted to contact the store to resolve the matter and to explain that I objected to pay the uninstall fee because fault been caused by their error and not mine the woman was quite argumentative and hung up on me. It is one of the worst companies I have dealt with in the Cape Cod area since living here over the last 20 years. read more

My wife and I went into this supposed "business" to look around at wood stoves and instead found the worst customer service on the planet. The owner just said, "Hello," and walked by us without even asking typical questions (such as "Can I help you?"). It also seemed that she spent her attention on the locals that she knew and not on new folks like us. After several visits, my wife and I decided on a stove but then were told, "Nope. Given your configuration of your fireplace and wood trim and mantel, a wood stove isn't going to work. Sorry." We left in complete frustration and then wound up going to real wood stove stores near where we live and were told a different story ("Sure, you can get this model, but you'll need a mantel shield.") If anyone is considering trying to come here to get a stove, I'd recommend you head to other places on the Cape or even the store in Plymouth. What a waste of time. read more
